Holly's Christmas card

I made another card out of fabric.  For a fiend named Holly.

The sentiment I used was from Stampin' Up...More Merry Messages.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.  Ours was very quiet...Just Hubby and me...  But we did get to visit our daughter on Christmas eve and she cooked for us!

I hope to better with my blog this coming year!  (It's one of my new Year's resolutions.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Let It Snow (not really)

This card was made for the Christmas card challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

We were to have snowmen on our cards.

I made this card using fabric.  I added buttons to the front of him, and added a bird in his hand.

I used a sticker for my sentiment.

The heart of Christmas

I hope this looks like a Christmas card and not a Valentine's card!

I made this card using  Rubber stamps Tapestry...

If you haven't heard of them before...it's wood peg stamps.  You stamp each leaf, each flower, each vine, etc.   with a small round rubber stamp.  I actually like using them because each card you make will be little bit  different.

I added a heart stamped and cut out with a die (sweetNsassy)

added some red and green gems to the wreath, and used dimensionals to pop up my cut out heart and sentiment.

Hunkydory Christmas Village

This was a super easy card to make...Just needed my paper trimmer and some dimensionals.

I thought if I put anything else with this pretty paper.  I would take away the beauty of the paper.

Hunkydory Christmas Blessings

Another Hunkydory card...  This card was just assembling, adding brads, and using dimensionals to pop up the layers.

I think my hubby liked the fact that I'm using the paper he purchased for me and is buying some more to put under the Christmas tree for me...  (something to really look forward to)

Hunkydory Card

Last Christmas my hubby asked me for some ideas as to what he could buy me for Christmas.

I saw lots of beautiful Hunkydory papers on line, and asked him to buy me some of the papers and put them under tree, and I could make cards for next Christmas...

Well, I did use the paper he gave me and, so far, I have come up with 17 cards using that pretty paper.

On this card I just added some dimensionals, a star and a gem.

Quilled pumpkin card

I made the above card...following a tutorial on Split coast stampers.

I wanted to try it because I would like to learn how to do quilling...

I thought that this might be a good card to try quilling for the first time...

PS.  I checked my spam folder and I was surprised to see spam in my folder from years 2012, 2013, and 2014???  Has this happened to anyone else?   some of the comments were from blog owners that I don't think even have blogs anymore?  I didn't click on the links...so I'm not sure.  I'm always afraid that they might not be safe.

Pumpkin card

 Hello from Jill...

Sorry, I know it's been a while.  I almost forgot how to post...

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast stampers.

This month's theme was to put pumpkins on our card.

I didn't have any pumpkin stamps, or pumpkin dies...so I used some of my Graphic 45 paper to make my card.  Just added a ribbon and some dimensionals.

Hope to catch up with my commenting.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Beautiful scene...

Another beautiful scene colored with copics  by my husband.

I thought I would also include a picture of my grand puppy.

My daughter and her family took her along with them when they spent a weekend at the beach.

Since they got her from a shelter two years ago...they have no way of knowing if it was first time at the beach or not.

They told me she absolutely loved it.

Another Christmas card

I managed to make another Christmas card for a challenge at Split Coast Stameprs.!  This is for the monthly Christmas card challenge that I joined this year.  Never knew that it  was available until this year.  Wish I would have realized that sooner.  It has been a big help with me getting my cards ready for Christmas ahead of time.  I think this makes card #26,

The challenge is to add sparkle to your card.

My Sparkle was made using gold embossing powder to heat set the top of the card using a rubber stamp from a magazine I purchased.  Cardmaking and & Papercraft!  Sadly, the magazine is no longer being published.  It was one of my favorite crafting magazines.

I just added a ribbon (that was a gift from my daughter, and flower sticker.

I think my husband enjoyed his birthday.  We ate lunch at a favorite restaurant of ours that is about a 45+ minutes from our home.  But it is worth the drive.  You can get a free meal on your birthday.  I made the mistake of eating too much!  I hope I don't do that again.

Birthday Card!

I made the above card for my husband's birthday!

I was kind of stuck what card I could make for him.  In years past I would make something like a chef card (He likes to cook)  Or something nautical (because he was in the Navy!

Or something with tools on it...because in the past he did a lot of work on our house.  (He literary took half the roof off our house to build a dormer...mostly by himself).   And, NO, he is not a carpenter by trade.

My husband loves photography and he is pretty good at it too.

Me, not so much, but this is one of the pictures that I did take on one of our favorite vacations several years ago.

The photo was taken a vineyard in Napa Valley, California.  I thought he might enjoy a photo to remind him of that special time on his special day.

If you have the time...stop by his blog

https://irishdreamweaver.blogspot.com/

And wish him Happy Birthday today...

Thank you,

and Thank you for visiting my blog.

Squirrel birthday card

This is another image that my hubby colored for me to use.

I needed a birthday card and a card for the Twisted sister Challenge at Split coast Stampers.,

The challenge this month is to make a card with a fall theme..

The stamp that was used is from Blue Knight.

Birthday card for a friend

I made a birthday card for a friend using a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs  (now known as Divinity Designs)

Again, my hubby colored the image for me.  I added a bow and a sticker for the Sentiment.

.........................................

I never did post a follow up about my grandson.  I can now breath more comfortably again.  He is fine.  The storm that they predicted was downsized when it came ashore.

I have the feeling (considering where is base is)  that he may have to get used to storms.  They get a lot of them in the area where he is stationed.  (Grandmom may not get used to it!  Smile.  I am a big worrier!

Happy 40th Birthday

My neighbor wanted to have a CARD party for her brother's 40th  Birthday.

The card was supposed to be given to her by today.  So I quick made this card and took the quick crooked picture.  The card already left the house before I realized what a terrible picture I took.  (most of my photos would NOT win a prize!)

I also added this photo to the Free Fall Challenge at Split Coast Stampers where the theme was baseball!

Kathi's birthday card

My dear crafting friend, Kathi, came to our house to visit us. This time she came along with her hubby.  (He had never been to our house before).  It's still hard for me to believe that she was at our house for about 4 hours and we never did any crafting.   Smile.  (But we did do some show and tell.

Kathi is cleaning out her craft room, and she brought a bunch of crafting supplies to my house.  (It felt like Christmas again)  (It's what I always ask for at Christmas...crafting supplies.)  I know that I have plenty of stuff...but us crafters know that New stuff..(new stuff to us anyway) Always inspires me.

Some of what she gifted me with was some Martha Stewart punches.

I needed to make her a birthday card and I was stuck for an idea till I decided to try making a card with some of the punches she gave to me.  She also gave me the dragonfly rubber stamp that I used on the card.  This is one of the things that I love about making greeting cards...that you can personalize them.  She seemed to think it was a great idea.  I hope she liked it anyway.

Christmas card Number 6

Christmas card number 6.   I did manage to get my goal of making 7 cards completed this week.

Just didn't get them all posted yet.  This was one of my favorites and, again, hubby did most of the work,    He colored this beautiful image for me with copics and  wink of stella pens.  It is so beautiful in real life.  The shimmer from the shimmery pens is awesome.

Hubby and I had a wonderful day today.  We don't eat out that much anymore...due to $$$$

If we do it's usually breakfast, but today we went for a late lunch at a very nice restaurant.  The food was awesome!  I even had desert which is something I don't usually do when we eat out.

Then he surprised me by taking me to craft store.   And yes, I shopped a bit.  I try to avoid them more these days because I still have a lot of supplies on hand, and a very dear friend is cleaning out her craft room and gifted me with some wonderful craft supplies.

We came home and received a call from two dear friends who asked if we were going to be home.

We had a nice, long visit.  It just made our day because is two friends that we really like and don't get to see too often.

We heard from our grandson.  so far, the typhoon has not hit where he is...they expect it to hit about Saturday to Monday.  Still on pins and needles with this...I'm hoping his base does every thing they can to keep all the soldiers safe.

Thank you for the kind Anniversary wishes and for the prayers for the safety of our grandson. They are much appreciated.

Thank you, for visiting my blog today

Anniversary card

I made this very quick Anniversary card for hubby.

Our Anniversary is this week..  I was really stuck as to what I should make...when I remembered the papers that I had from Graphic 45.

Right now I am very scared because of the news we received earlier this evening.  Our Grandson's military base is being evacuated because of a Hugh storm that is headed their way.

He sent a text telling the family that it was originally rated a category 5 storm...but I think it's been down grated a bit.  Hopefully, a whole lot.  They are expecting very high winds and flooding ...  Please send some prayers/good thoughts our grandson's way.   Thank you and Bless you...

Jill

Christmas card Number 5

This was a quick and easy card.  I don't make too many CAS cards.  I also rarely make duplicates of my cards.  The exception to that rule is sometimes at Christmas I will make a couple extra of the same design.  This is one that I want to make again.

The designer paper I used is from Stampin' Up.  Lights aglow.  My sentiment was stamped with a Stampin' Up stamp (More Merry Messages)  I cut out the tree using a Spellbinder die, and dry embossed the background with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug (Swiss dots)

I just had to make it into a card!  I really like this classic Christmas image.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Christmas card Number 3

If you are wondering why the numbers with my cards.  ....  I was hoping I would reach my goal this week of making 7 Christmas cards.  So far it's only 3...

This was a quick and easy card.  I used my Stamping Up supplies...The paper I used is called Aglow, and I used a Spellbinder's Shapeabilities die for the Cut, Fold, and Tuck technique.

Christmas card number 2

I'm using some more of my new Supplies for this year's batch of Christmas cards.  This is a die cut from Stampin' Up called Aspen Trees.  I stamped some birds from a sweet and Sassy Stamp and just added a purchased greeting...

Christmas card

I received my latest order from Stampin' Up and it's mainly supplies to make this year's supply of Christmas cards.

I liked the wreath stamp and matching die.  I wanted to continue to get a head start on my Christmas card...and then...

I made the mistake at looking at my calendar.  When I looked at September...  I was shocked at how many birthday cards I need to make for September!  So I need to start on those too.  I always knew that September is my busiest month for making Birthday cards...but some how the list has really grown.

The above card was made using heat embossing with my wreath and a die to cut out my sentiment!  I added Stamp' Up stick on Pearls to the wreath and added a ribbon..

It has been a busy month for us with lots of things happening... Like our Granddaughters Collage graduation.  We are so proud of her and happy that she is finished.  (Working a full time job and going to school too is not easy...as I'm sure many of you know).  She is so happy to be finished.

Now that she is done with school...  She told me that she would come to my house and craft with me again.  This past Thursday night she sort of kept her promise and came to our house....  Only she didn't craft...smile.   But she kept me company while I was crafting which was special  too!

Birthday Card

I made this card two weeks ago and I thought that I had posted it to my blog...  but I didn't see it, so, obviously I didn't post it.

It's another Floating strips card.  I found the tutorial on Split coast stampers and I have made a couple of Christmas cards using this technique.  It's one of my favorites...because it's easy to make,  I also like the fact that you can use snippets of paper on your card.  It's made using acetate paper for the background (or you can use plastic from packaging that can be found on purchased store items.  etc.

.................................................................................

I looked at today's date and realized it August 10th.  It's a special date to me...  (not sure if my hubby even remembers what todays' date would mean to me).

On August 10th...many, many, years ago.  I met my hubby at a teenage dance.  I, for one, will never forget it...  because I will always remember how nervous I was when he asked me to dance.  Jill is NOT a good dancer.  So I am sure I stepped on his toes a lot.  Hubby is a good dancer.    Just don't ask me how long it's been since we have danced.    Smile...

Thank you for visiting my blog today..

Blessings,

Jill

PS.  I actually met my hubby for the first time when I was about 4 years old  (long story)

but I don't remember that meeting.  (my Mother-in-law was the one that had given me that information.)

Twisted sister challenge

I made this card for this month's twisted sister challenge at  Split Coast Stampers.  We were supposed to make a Christmas card using last week's sketch.  Sketch SC917.  I hope I did the challenge correctly.  I'm always afraid that I will have the challenge police come after me.  I just die cut an oval...added a tree sticker to it and put stickles on my tree to look like snow.

Anniversary card

This is a card I made for my daughter and son in laws wedding Anniversary.

The stamped images came from a magazine but I'm not sure which one.

I added some ribbon to the bottom of the card.  (The ribbon was in a gift box of card supplies she gave me for Christmas).

And I used a very OLD Martha Stewart Punch for the trim on the bottom of the card.  I can't remember the last time I used that punch!

Question, Are other bloggers still having a problem with the Spam box issue.

When I log on to look at my comments there's usually nothing there...and then I go look in my spam box...and that's where ALL of the comments are.

I'm just happy that I remember to look there.

Hope you are having a good week.

Another Christmas card for my stash

Another Christmas card for my stash.  And again Iris folding...

Another card for my Grandson

I Think I must be losing it!  I can't believe I forgot to put a title on the card I posted yesterday.

This is another card that will be sent to my grandson.  He just purchased a new car!  (Well, new to him anyway)  Since he is so far away...We won't get to see it.  Hopefully he will send us a picture of it.

My card was made using a 3D sheet.  I still have so many of them (that I had printed up years ago) ...and its way past time that I try to use some of them.  I'm on a mission with some of my craft supplies.  Use it!  Or lose it!

Besides the Iris folding cards that I like to make...this used to also be one of my favorite techniques.  I'm putting it in the past tense...because as much as I like to make these cards...   It's takes a lot fussy cutting which is something I used to like to do.  But that was before I got arthritis in my shoulder and in my hands.  So fussy cutting isn't as much fun.

Hope you are having a good day today...

Thank you for visiting my blog...

I made this Iris Folding card to send to my grandson who is a very long way from home.   It hasn't been that long since he left and I miss him so much.  I'm not a great letter writer.  I never know what to say.  So I'm trying to make a stash of cards that I will be able to send to him.

The card was made using up some of my snippets.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

And thanks for stopping by my blog.

Blessings,

Jill

........

While I am thinking about it... I used some poetic license on this card.  My Husband informed me when I first made one of these cards that snails do not have eyes in there head...

Bridge card for Twisted Sister Challenge

I made this card for the Twisted sister challenge at Split Coast Stampers...

The challenge was to make a Bridge card and it had to have Blue on it.

I made this card using some more of my Paper Blooms dies and paper from Stampin' Up.

I was working on this card while my neighbor was working on her paper Blooms card for a card to give to her sister.  Again, she did a great job.

My sentiment is a design from Elizabeth craft designs, and my girl image is a stamp from Rubber Necker designs colored with copics.  Also the background was cute out with a Spellbinder die, Shapabilities (Criscross)

At the moment my grandson is on his way to going overseas for Three LONG years.  He left yesterday for his first flight.  He has three more plane trips to make in two days.  Obviously, I am a nervous GrandMom right now.  Please pray for safe travels for him.   (and for this grandmom to keep calm...smile.

Anniversary card, using Paper Blooms DP

I made this card using die cuts from Stmping Up.  Pierced Blooms, and designer paper form Stampin' Up!..Paper Blooms Designer Paper.

I may have mentioned before...that I have a new neighbor...  This new neighbor...who moved into my neighborhood a few months ago...is now making cards with me.  It is so great to have someone craft with me again.  She is so good at it...and she does like it.  So, hopefully, it means I have someone to help motivate me to get back into card making again.

My grandson's birthday card

 Finally, I made a card!  It's been a while!

I made this card using Stampin' Up's Symbols of Fortune designer paper.  I used a helpful technique posted on Split coast stampers...for helping me to put on my letters.

Aligning Letter dies...

  https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/aligningletterdies/

I used Dina's suggestion of using press and seal to help keep the letters nice and straight.    I would never of thought to use press and seal for this technique.

I'm not sure where I orginally found the plane template that I used.  I actually made a card many years ago using the template and then I cased my old card.

I am going to try and catch up and start visiting blogs again...It may take me a little time to catch up...but I am going to try.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Blessings,

Jill

Christmas challenge card

You probably don't want to see a Christmas card in May..
But this is another card for the Christmas Challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

So happy I found that challenge which I didn't know was even there till this year.  (thanks to a fellow Blogger letting me know)
Last year at this time...I did not have any Christmas cards done...I now have 8 cards ready for next Christmas!  Which is a good feeling.

Longwood Gardens

You might get the idea with these photos that my favorite color is pink!

My hubby loves to take photos.  We have lots and lots of photos that of this beautiful place!

One of the favorite spots that our daughter and my hubby love to visit is the vegetable garden.

Our wonderful, lovely, daughter!

Sorry that I have not visited my blog lately.  It's been busy!  We've finally been getting out of our house...after a long time of hibernation.

The above pictures were taken at one of our favorite places to visit,  Longwood Gardens.  We have been going there for many years, and have lost count as to how mnay times we have been there.

Our daughter, offered to drive us down as a birthday presnet to me.  (Nice birthday present)

I haven't made any cards in a couple of weeks.  I tried to get back this weekend and find someone to come to my house to make cards with me on my birthday.  (I used to have several people come to my homs on a weekly basis to craft with me)  The people I called were all busy.  Either going out of town or busy baby sitting grandchildren, etc.    So that did not happen!

I received some beautiful birthday cards...  and I still haven't gotten around to thank everyone yet...
which I hope to do later today.   (And also catch up with my commenting and visiting other blogs.

Thank you for stopping by...
Blessings,
Jill

Carrie's Card

My husband colored  this image image for me to give to a very dear friend of ours.  He couldn't remember where he found the image but he did write down the copic colors.

G14, YG07, Rv10, Y12, RV12, RV13, BV34, BG000

My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous.

We had a nice Easter,  My hubby cooked (and as always it was a delicious meal!)  We then visitited with our daughter and her family.  Something we couldn't do last year because of the pandemic...so it was a special treat this year.

But we got some news that we didn't like to hear...so please add my family to your  good thoughts and prayers.  (I will give an update as we get one)

Birthday Card

This is a card I made a while ago, and I'm pretty sure I never posted it... because I hadn't finished it.  I like the look of square cards but I don't send them too often because of the extra  postage and I'm never sure if I put the right postage on them.

Since I needed a card for tomorrow that I could hand deliver... It seemed like the perfect card to finish.

The flowers were stamps that came with a magazine.  I also fussy cut some of the flowers to decorate my card.

Daffodil Afternoon Second card

Today Hubby gave me the beautiful flower that you see in the picture above.

I hadn't even realized that our daffodils were blooming in our yard.

It inspired me to make another quick card using that pretty paper.

PS. I am posting these photos kind of late at night...

I will be visiting blogs tomortow...

Meantime thank you for all the nice comments I see that have been left on my previous card.

TWister Sister Challenge

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast stampers.

Pansy issued a challenge for us to do a fancy fold that she did.  I struggled a bit the one she posted so I looked for a link on Google for that style card.  I found one where a lady did a variation of her fold and I did that one.

I wanted to use some of my Daffodil Afternoon paper that has been mainly just sitting in a drawer in my craft room.  Spring will be over before I get my spring cards in the mail.

I fussy cut my dafodil and added a ribbon, I forgot to add a sentiment but will do that when I mail my card.

More Hunkydory cards

I made two more cards using the Hunkydory paper that my husband ordered for me for a Christmas present.

I really enjoy using this paper.  I think there papers are so elegant and pretty!

I gave up doing the VSN challenges at SplitCoast.  I like to paper craft because it usually relaxes me.  Having to make cards in a time limit...does not.  and right now my stress level is at the top and I don't need to add to it.  I do like to do challenges though, they are a great way to learn how to do new techniques.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today
