Masculine Birthday card

I think I actually made this card this past June...and I'm finally getting around to posting it.
Yikes!  Where does the time go???????

I made the card using a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs...Artistic Outpost...The stamp name is Gatsby.  I made the inside of the card using a technique from Jennifer macQuire's blog   I like how the inside reminds you of a book.   So I stamped "The Great Gatsby on the side of the card.

I'm on a roll now...

I'm so glad that I picked up that magazine to use for inspiration to get me back into card making...
Obviously, It worked.  These are some more cards that were inspired by that same magazine.
Some of the cards look pretty much the way they made them in the magazine...others I added my own ideas...  Especially the last card...It was inspired by a card in the magazine...but does NOT look anything like the card in the magazine.  I used a Penny Black stamp and embossed the flowers in both white and gold embossing powder.  Added a bow and a butterfly  
 from Kaiser-craft!

Another Birthday Box card

I made another Birthday "Box" card.  I always like how when you open the card you have a box, (which comes in really handy when you need a place to put a gift card or money).

I made the card using a die from Our Daily Bread Designs.  (Star Quilt die)  The designer paper I used also came from Our Daily Bread Designs...(Shabby Rose Collection)  My sentiment was made using a peel off and I used a button from Stampin' Up.

Twisted Sister Lighthouse Challenge and Word Art Wednesday #180

I made the above card for two challenges.  The twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers where Lesley issued this week's challenge to have a lighthouse on our card. 

The light house on my card was colored with copics by my hubby
And he did his best to come close to the colors of the actual lighthouse...

The light house is located at Cape Hatteras North Carolina...

Jim and I were very briefly in North Carolina...but never had the privilege of seeing this light house in real life...It would be nice to do that someday...well, at least I can dream about it...smile.

The image Jim colored had Stampendous stamp written on the back and it was colored many years ago, so I hope that I have that correctly that is their stamp...

My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs...

The fun never stops

Since, Carol, kindly told me that she received my card...I can now post it.

I have had the privilege of meeting Carol in real life, and seeing her beautiful work in real life.  Her cards look fantastic and creative on line, but, believe me, they are even more so, when you see them in real life.

The sentiment is (on the outside of the card)   The fun never stops...

and on the inside I put the fun never stops when you are crafting!  So true...

I said in one of my  posts how I was addicted to making these side steps cards  (I think I have made about 20 of them in just the last few weeks).  They are my Therapy...

Carol, responded in her comment that her hexagon cards are her Therapy...smile

so, You know, I had to send her one of my "therapy" cards!

NBUS Challene number 4, and TWISTED Sister Challenge

I made the above card for two challenges.  
Darnell's Fourth NBUS  challenge.  Darnell, you continually amaze me.  I'm sure this challenge is a lot of work for you to do.  But I'm sure I speak for all of your followers when I say...we so appreciate you doing this challenge for us.  It certainly does encourage me to get out my Not before used items.

My NBUS item on the above card is the Hero Arts stamp  (Two Silhouette Woman)
My Border lace was made using a die from Our Daily Bread Designs (Beautiful Borders)
and I used the Stampin' Up Stamp (hello Doily.  I added stick on pearls and a ribbon.

This is Darnell's 3rd NBUS challenge...With the first challenge I think I only posted two cards

(and I was one of the winners!  Oh Happy Day!)   Last time I only posted one...but since you can post three cards ...and this one fits...I decided to add one more...to make this my third one.

I told Darnell that I would enter if there were no prizes and I meant it.  (But prizes are always nice...smile)  This is so nice and generous for Darnell to do this.  

It also gave me the incentive to honestly break out some things that have NOT been used before...

The border trim was made using a die from Our Daily Bread that My hubby bought me for

Card for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge

I goofed when I entered my card yesterday.  I didn't realize till after I made my card and posted it...
For the challenge you are to use only Our Daily Bread stamps...My main image was made with an
Our Daily Bread Stamp...but I grabbed another stamp for the sentiment...

So this is my second attempt for the challenge.  This time I used ONLY ODBD stamps...smile.

I guess I don't follow instructions very well.  The stamp I used is "Fishers of men"

colored with copics...YR24, RV29, Y21, Rv245,YG07, E35.  E34, E08, C0, E33, B91, C3 C0, YR24, E29, E70,W3

The background was made using a cuttlebug embossing folder...Distressed Stripes,
and cut out with a spellbinder die   Labels 10   added brads, and a denim ribbon.

Graduation Card...

 I made this card for my granddaughter for her graduation.  I can't believe that she is so grown up.  Oh, where did the time go?  It seems like it was just yesterday when I held her in my arms as a tiny baby just a few minutes after she was born.

I'm frustrated with myself right now, because I can't find what I did with my granddaughter's baby pictures.  No, they never did make it to a photo album.  My grandson's pictures have, but I'm a procrastinator, and I kept thinking I'll do it later.  So this is one that I could find right now. This  may have been taken at her first Christmas.  Yes, I do have some recent pics, but I forgot to ask for her permission to post them.  I don't post any pics on my blog unless I get permission.  Whoops!  That's not correct, because I didn't ask her if I could post the above pic, but I don't think she would mind this one.

I wanted to make a scrapbook for my granddaughter as a graduation gift, but It's not going to get done, at least not this week! Especially since I can't find all my photos. Looking through the pics that I did find, has really taken me back memory lane.

I had the honor of meeting Mary Anne, a couple of times at stamping get together's and I am so happy for her.  She's such a lovely person.


I was fortunate enough to be in the delivery room when my granddaughter was born.  It's a moment you never forget.  My daughter had asked us to be with her when my grandson was born too,  But they wouldn't let us. The reason being that  there were too many Mother's giving birth at the same time.

I was really surprised that she even asked me.  My daughter is brave!!!

Why, because when she was a teenager, I took her to the oral surgeon to have some of her teeth pulled to make room for her braces.

My daughter did great...  No problems at all.

Me, Not so much!

I passed out!

They had to spend more time fussing with me, than my daughter!  smile.

Needless to say, I will NEVER live this down...

Almost forgot, My card  was made from an iris folding pattern from a book that I purchased.

I added a brad, and a tassel that I made...(because I couldn't find the one that I purchased!)

More Christmas cards

I made a couple more Christmas cards...I have more hand made Christmas cards done to this point than I have ever done before. Maybe, just maybe, I will get my cards finished, addressed and out on time this year. That would be a first! smile...

I used my Spellbinder cut and fold for these two cards, it made it much easier to make my cards. To think I used to do this with my 'Lace stencils, and take hours and hours cutting out with an exacto knife. This is so much easier and faster, and I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers...(sorry if that was too much info)
I rubber stamped my first one with my crochet background stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, and used a ek punch for the lace trim, I then stamped with versamark my snowflakes, embossed with kaleidoscope embossing powder it gave it a sparkly look, and I used white ep to stamp my sentiment.
The second card was made with the same cut and fold spellbinder die, cut it out with Stamping' Up dp, and a sticker for the sentiment.

My husband informed me that some of the copic colors may be different...because...
I used the wrong image for my card...He colored two for me, he didn't like the first one
(the one I used) So he colored a second one...(My husband is a perfectionist...Smile)
but he tells me I didn't use the better one...and yes, I like the second one better too.
but it was too late, I already had my card done when I realized my mistake...

Another flower soft card...

Finally made another card...after a couple of my cards ended up in file 13...
I managed to make this one...
It's made with a card topper from Our daily bread designs where I purchased most of my flower soft supplies...
I used Stampin' Up paper for part of card, and used a cuttlebug embossing folder (distressed stripes for the bottom of my card) added dimensionals, lace and ribbon.

Windows

I entered the top card into the Ways to use it challenge at Split Coast Stampers. (WT380) I started making another card with a door, but had to put it aside for now...just wasn't working out for me, so I again, pulled out my flower soft supplies, and tried these cards instead. I love windows, and light...

Take Time to Enjoy the Simple Things of Life

I bought the Flower Soft, Scenic Windows kit last Summer at a Stamp convention and I am finally getting around to making a card with it. This is from a 3D sheet from Flower soft to make a card front, 3D cards is what I first made when I started making cards about 6 years ago, and I have to admit, it's still one of my favorite card techniques. Yes, It's sometimes a lot of fussy cutting, but I don't mind that.
