Another page from my Memory book/ and a pic of my new grand puppy

This is a pic of my new grand puppy isn't she cute?
I haven't had the chance to meet her yet.  My daughter just got her two days ago from a shelter.  She sent me this picture of her.
Daisy is 7 years old,  and part Jack Russell.  (At 7 years, she's not exactly a puppy...but she will be to me)
I hope to get to at least see her on Easter!  (we still have to social distance at my daughter's house)

The picture above is another page from my memory book.

(I talk more about my memory book in my previous post)

This is a picture from a very long time ago.  I am the flapper shown in the picture and my best friend is on the right.  I do remember this night...only because I wasn't very smart about how cold it's gets the end of October... I remember freezing in this outfit.  We mainly went trick on treating to our co-workers homes.  They were quite surprised because they certainly weren't expecting to see us that night.

My friend's Memory book

I mentioned on my blog before that I was doing some work on scrapbooks and Journals. I forget how much time these kind of projects take.
...........................................................................................................

I lost a very long time dear friend in January.  It hit me quite hard.  Even though I kew she had some serious health issues.  Her heart attack hit me really 0ff guard.

I wanted to do something in her memory (and something for my therapy in a way).
I came up with the idea of doing a memory book.  After I started the book and put family pictures and stories into the book...  The thought came to me that her daughter might like a copy of my book too.
so 120   6 X 6 pages later. (for both books)  I have her daughter's book finished and gave to her this past weekend.  I thought she might like it...but I never thought it would mean as much to her as it did.
I am so glad now, that I took the time to do this, (and Yes, these kind of books are time consuming).  But sometimes so worth it!

There's a lot I wouldn't be able to share, these's many personal pictures of her family and I did a lot of persoanl sharing on someof the pages...However, I am going to try and share what I can.

My friend and her husband went out one New Year's eve with us, and I put the pictures of us in the book.  I think it was the LAST New year's eve we ever went to again in a club.  smile.   It was a long time agao, but the one thing I remember was how noisy it was.  I had a terrible headach the next day.
(those things you tend to rmember) but it was not from too much drinking!  It was from the noise.

Anyway, I put the pics in the book and for my friend's daughter I also put some of my home made cards throughout the book, and this is one of them.  I made it that she could just take it out of the book and use it.
She could use it for a New Year's card,  50th Anniversary card, etc.

paper Blooms Dahia fold

I made this card using my Paper Blooms designer paper.  I must be honest and tell you that I orginally threw this card into my paper trash bin.  Hubby saw me do it, and said to me "Why did you do that?"  I told him that I did NOT like the card, but he told me he did!  So I picked it back out of the paper trash bin and tried again.  I think I don't like the fact that the double sided paper I used did NOT have too much contrast.  I added the doily to hopefully give the card more interest, and tried again...
The doily made this card larger than an A2 card it's a 5 inches by 6 1/2 inches card.

I found my instructions fo the dahlia fold here...

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/dahlia_fold/

I added a ribbon and a brad, my sentiment was made from a die by Elizabeth craft designs

Paper Blooms Pleated skirt fold

Another card made with Paper Blooms Stampin' Up Designer paper.  This is a Pleated skirt fold.

The tutorial for this fold  found can be found here...

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/pleatedskirtfold/

I really like this fold  for one thing, It's very easy to do...I used my Pierced Blooms die set for my flower, and used some dimensionals to pop up my flower and leaves, and added some ribbon.

My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Penny Black.

Every day seems to bring new challenges.  Yesterday, in our town, we had a main water break, so we now have to boil our water for several days till it's fixed and limit our water usage.  But I guess it could be worse...

Hope everyone has a good day,

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St Patick's day! The above picture of my card is not the greatest,  I was in such a hurry to get my cards in the mail so they would be recieved in time....  That I forgot to take a picture of my card with my camera before I put my card in the mail.  I did send a picture of it by my phone to a friend, so I took a picture of a picture.  My phone does not take the greatest pictures... but I guess you get the idea of the card.   Another Iris Folding card.    It is a nice break from "Paper Blooms" cards.

I can't miss celebrating St Pat's day...especially since it's only been the last few years that I found out that I am Irish (DNA test showed that I am 17% Irish).

All for today,

Thank you for visitng my blog today

Paper Blooms Center Fold card

Another card made using the Stampin' Up Designer paper...Paper Blooms. I have to admit that I am running out of ideas at the moment in ways to use the paper...so after I post a few more cards that I made using it..

I will start using other papers, etc.   Smile...

The card was made using a Sugar Nellie image, Lizzie,  I love these images.  My husband loved these too and he's the one that purchased the images.  (As far as I know they are no longer available to buy.)  I really like the way he colors them.

I also used a Sweet N Sassy die for the lace trim on the sides of the card, and I used the Pierced Blooms die for my flower, added a ribbon and a brad.

Paper Blooms Recessed Panel Card

HOPE  You are not tired of looking at cards made with my Stampin' Up Paper Blooms paper.

One of the reasons I have been using the paper, is that I recently received the pack free with my order of Stampin' Up supplies...   Plus two of my crafty friends also received the free paper with their Stampin' Up order and decided that didn't want to use it?  Not sure if that was the reason, I just know they both asked me if I wanted it.  (And of course I sadi Yes.)  I'll be honest it's not my favorite ever SU paper but it definitely grew on me when I realized some of things I could make using it.

My above card was made using The recessed panel card technique, I couldn't find the link I found using the instructions.  It is an easy card to make.  I had written down my measurements

On the top of my card base   4 1/4  by 5 1/2

I cut two more panels   1 inch by 5 1/2 inches

Another panel 2 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches

and applied each one to a side of the card with dimentionals

Underneath the two panels (inbetween) the two panels )... I applied some designer paper

That's all there is to it...  decorate with your choice of embellishments  (PS , I'm not too good with instructions so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes...

...........................................................................................................

My word for the year is HOPE!

I haven't used it that much, I need to use it more, so I'm trying to find ways to use it.

Several years back My word was BELIEVE, and that word really worked for me..

I put my word on my appointment book, and even put one on my mirror.

My friend Cherie, had her mother embroider the word BELIEVE on a hand towel for me to hang in my bathroom as a reminder.

I just ordered anothe towel from her Moter with the word HOPE on it.

I thought someone else might be interested in this idea...
