Digi Doodle Shop Challenge

I know that If you visited my blog two posts ago, my image will look familiar to you...smile...
I liked this image so much that my husband purchased it for me, and then colored it for me twice. Not only that he also told me about the challenge at Digi Doodle, and that I had to have stripes on my card for the challenge. (I'll get him making cards yet...LOL) So after saying that...
this card is obviously, for the Digi Doodle Shop challenge #118. The link to the challenge is here
Besides the Digi Doodgle shop image, I used
Stampin' Up Designer paper for my background (stripes)
My lace border is from a Heart felt Creations die
added beads, and a ribbon Sentiment is computer generated.

Flower soft cottage

My flower soft card
I made another flower soft card. You have probably realized by now that I like using flower soft..I think it's easy to use, and the Flower soft card toppers make it even easier to make a card. What's not to like about that? LOL. Hope you like my card too.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, I am. I spent my day yesterday painting, not always my favorite thing to do, but as I said before....I like the way everything looks after you are done, Paint always makes things look newer and cleaner. The problem is I have so much more to do. (Keeps me out of trouble...but it also takes time away from something I enjoy doing...making cards...) I finished painting my hall closet, so now I have to paint the hallway.

My day started out so nice. I starting reading my email and soon realized that my above card was selected for the favorites thread at one of my favorite web sites...Split Coast Stampers. My card was selected for both the General favorites thread, and the CAS thread. First time for the CAS (Clean and Simple) thread. It also means I have earned a new badge for my blog. I was thrilled.

I love Pink

I saw this digi image on another blog, and told my husband how much I liked it, and he purchased it and colored it for me. I'm not sure if I totally like what I did with the image, but I like the image so much that I will definitely try again...

The blog that I first saw this image was Tammy's blog...
http://tammy-tammyspot.blogspot.com/2012/07/a-glass-of-wine.html

She did a fabulous job with it...She just about blew my socks off with her card...smile...

image from Digi Doodle
lace doily, Cheery Lynn die,
Used a classic Circle spellbinder die to cut out my image
and my designer paper is from Stampin up.
added flowers and ribbon

Girl with Teddy bear

My husband colored this image for me so long ago, that I am not sure where the image came from...
I made a center step card with the image...the tutorial I used for the center step card can be found here
I used my Heart felt creations die for the lacy side panels (Decorative Lace Border HCD713)
Colored a ribbon with copics, added a brad, and peel off stickers.
Used a cuttlebug embossing folder for my background (swiss dots)
Cut around my image with a spellbinder die (Labels 10)

House Mouse Challenge HMFMC124

This card is for the House Mouse Challenge, HMFMC124, The theme for the challenge is, Summertime fun, Anything to do with summer.
My husband colored the "Gruffies" image with copics...YG17, YG03, YG61, YG13, Y02, E99, E50, E19, E31, E40, E33, C4, B000, RV00,RV10
I did some HAND stitching around the card. For years I did cross stitch, embroidery, crewel, smocking, needlepoint, sewing, etc. I forgot how long it took to do stitching! (Maybe it's just because I am out of practice...smile...)
I added some stick on beads, and made my umbrella by paper piecing using a Dream Weaver Umbrella stencil LG737,
I am also entering this card in the Dream weaver challenge this month which is also using the "Summer" theme.
Links to these two challenges can be found on the right side of my blog.

Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge

I made this card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge to use Clouds or Sunshine...
ODBDSLC116, as usual, I forgot to post the link. (on the upper right side of my blog, I have a link to Our Daily bread designs blog...if you hit on that logo, it should take you to their blog.

Stamp set- Our Daily Bread Designs, As you graduate...
frame is from, Memory box, Twirling Vine frame
Copics used by my husband, Y11, E43, BG07,
BG05, E49, E31, YG67, C3

sky colors, Tim Holtz distress inks, Mustard, Seed, Marmalade, fire brick, tea dye...

My husband informed me that some of the copic colors may be different...because...
I used the wrong image for my card...He colored two for me, he didn't like the first one
(the one I used) So he colored a second one...(My husband is a perfectionist...Smile)
but he tells me I didn't use the better one...and yes, I like the second one better too.
but it was too late, I already had my card done when I realized my mistake...

Another House Mouse card

I originally made this card for the House Mouse Challenge HMFMC12, but I just realized that I am a day late...I missed the challenge. smile...It sounds like something I would do. This is the newest stamp that we just purchased, and I thought it would be cute for the "Let's Get Fruity Challenge.
I think I said before that One of my Motto's is... "Always a day late and a dollar short!"
That's me for sure...LOL. My husband colored the card with copics, and even made me flowers out of the cut end of straws to embellish the card. He seems to be taking this card making even more seriously all the time. (Which is alright we me!)
Rubber stamped image is from Stampabilities, and it's called Soda Fizz, HMTR1063
Colored with copics, E30, E34, RV29, G99, RV55, BV04, BVo8, Y000,R81,G21,G40, G07,YR68,
YR15, Y17, RV21,RV20, YG00,T1, Co, E50,RV10,E,40,E35,C2,RV00,E00.
Background paper October Afternoon,
embellished flowers, straws, ribbon, and stick on beads.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Blessings, Jill

I'm Back!

I'm back! I know you didn't even know that I was gone! smile!

I've just returned from a several day trip to Virginia. (Hot Virginia!) I'm told it was also very hot in my home town, but it was even hotter where I was on vacation. We stayed at a B & B without the A/C working. I don't have Central Air at home, but we do have one little window A/C which I wish I had at the Inn we were staying. The A/C did get fixed but not until after we stayed in a very warm room for a while. Our Inn keeper did go buy a fan for us and it did help.

The pic above shows one of the things we like to do on vacation...visit book stores... This is a pic of the Green Valley Book fair in Virginia.

We also visited Books-A-Million, it's a store we had never been in before...and yes we bought books at both book stores.
This is where we spent some of our time on vacation. I like the view from the screened in back porch. (Where you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background) But with the heat we didn't spend as much time there as we would have liked to. (I like eating breakfast on the porch! It was way to hot for that!)
The above picture shows another place I visited while in Virginia. This was the high light of my vacation. I think I mentioned on this blog before, that I live only a few miles from an A C Moore store, Joanne's and Michaels. But I had never been to a Hobby Lobby before...I really liked the store. Wish I would have had more time to spend there. (But then again, I may have spent even more money than I did...LOL)

I took some craft supplies with me on vacation, but I really didn't have much opportunity to craft, Or much opportunity to be on a computer. I have a lot of catching up to do with both my card making, and visiting every one's blogs.
Hope everyone is having a good summer so far, and Keeping cool! Blessings, Jill
