Merry Monday #241 Red Green and White

I made the above card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge...This week your card is to have Red, Green and White on it...  You can find the challenge with the link below  (I also have a link to Merry Monday on my side bar...)

Above is a picture of the inside of my card...( I intend to stamp a sentiment on the added panels later)

I made my card using a tutorial I found at Jan's Stamping Creations.  I found Jan's tutorial so easy to make a card base...My problem always comes when decorating...smile (takes me forever to make up my mind...)  Jan gave me permission to post the link to her tutorial to make this card fold...
You can find the link here...

Thank you again, Jan...

I made my card using Stampin' Up paper, Stampin' Up ribbon  ( Riding Hood Red)  In the pic it looks like the ribbon doesn't match the card...but In real life it does...Honest...smile...
I made by background using a die from Memory Box  (Stitched Rectangle  Layers)
My stamped sentiment is from Stampin' Up (More Merry Messages)
I used a die from Marianne Designs for the ivy under the ribbon and added a tree (button)

Th above card I made for the lady who was my Mother's best friend for many years.
I made the card out of Graphic 45 paper (which I really love)...but I think the paper,( for me anyway)
was a little too thick for this card design.   I had a little trouble with the paper cracking...

but then again, it may have been from the mistake I made...I had the writing on the paper upside down and had to un glue my sentiment, etc...and refold the paper a couple of times. (smile)

My sentiment from Penny Black (Special Wishes) was embossed in Gold embossing powder from PSX.  My sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinder die (Labels eleven)  and added two (unknown)
flowers from my stash.

I really like this idea for using the 12 x 12 paper for the base of the card.  I have way too much scrapbook paper (and I hoard it!)  Time to let some of it go...

Jill

Merry Monday #240 Bell(s)

I made the above card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.
You can find the challenge here...
http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2017/03/merry-monday-240-bells.html

This week's challenge is to add a bell(s)  My bell stamp is one I have had for awhile but I believe that this is only the second time that I have used it.  It's from Holly Berry House, and I embossed the front design on the bell with WOW white embossing powder.  Fussy cut out the bell and added a ribbon and a sentiment (which came with a magazine)  My background designer paper is from Stampin' UP.

Blessings,
Jill

Showing my work desk

Before I tell you about my photos...I have to make a couple of confessions...
First this is not my actual work DESK!  It's my dining room table where I really do most of my crafting.  I am fortunate enough to have a small craft room, You can see my craft room on my side bar...but another confession here...It rarely looks as neat as it does in the picture.

Second confession...the idea of showing my desk is not an original idea of mine...
I sometimes like to peek in at the desks from Julia's blog found here...
I really enjoy seeing every one's work area and see what they are working on...
but I have never actually added a link to their Linky...mainly because I would feel guilty if  I did not get
around and visit everyone else's desk that week.

Third Confession...I am NOT an expert beader.  I am a newbie and only started beaded about a year ago with the help of my crafting buddies.

I'm adding the above pictures because I thought that there could be some of you out in blog land, like me...who had wanted to learn to bead for a long time...and did NOT know even where to begin.

The above bracelet that I'm showing in the picture is the first bracelet pattern that I have made...
(stitching with jewelry wire)
and so far the ONLY pattern that I have made...  (but I have used this one many times)

I found the free pattern here

The above link has some free patterns that you can print out
and had links to YouTube videos for some more help with beading...

The first photo shows you everything that I needed to make my bracelet...
Jewelry wire
and tape measure/ruler to measure out the needed thread
A Collapsible beading needle
A clasp (for closure)
My beads

For this bracelet I needed
tile beads/or Tila beads
Brick beads
Super duo two hole beads
seed beads

The second picture shows how the  superduo two holed beads come in a package...
Sometimes they are in a tube all the same color...
Or they come in a mixed color tube
In my pic, I am obviously, separating the beads into different colors...
Yes, maybe some of you think I am crazy for doing that...
It is a bit time consuming...but for me...
quite therapeutic...
I'm usually doing that while watching TV.

Hope you enjoyed the pics...

Thank you for visiting by blog today
Blessings,
Jill

PS.  This also explains why I have NOT been making as many greeting cards
these days.  smile.

Merry Monday #239 Bronze/copper, Gold and Turquoise

I made the above card for the This week's Merry Monday Challenge...
The challenge is a color challenge to use the colors, Bronze/copper, Gold, and Turquoise.
I really like the sample cards that were made using these three colors together I had to give it a try...
My main problem was trying to photograph my cards to get the true colors...
My Frame was made with Bronze reflective paper, and my ornament with Gold reflective paper...

You can find this week's challenge here...
http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2017/03/merry-monday-239-color-challenge.html

I used Ranger Turquoise embossing glitter on my ornament,
Spellbinder Heirloom Reflections die to cut out my ornament
Spellbinder A2 Curved Mating Basics B to cut out my frame
I added a ribbon , Peel offs for my sentiment and gold ornament chain.
and I embellished with Turquoise ribbon, and Turquoise stick on gem.

Merry Monday #238 Light Posts

I made the above card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge...
The challenge can be found here...
http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2017/03/mm-238-light-posts.html

I searched my rubber stamps and my designer paper and I could not find anything with a light post on it...and I knew I wouldn't have the time I needed to try and make one on my own...so I wasn't going to do this week's challenge...    Then...I managed to get to my local craft store and what did I see?
A pack of Jolee stickers with lamps.  I feel like I'm cheating...but they seemed to work for this card...and I have several more on the packet to make some cards...

Thank you for this challenge...(And every week's challenge)  It really does help me get my Christmas cards done early so I don't panic as much as I usually do...smile...

Thank you for visiting my blog today,
Blessings,
Jill
