Happy Father's Day

Now that I have given this card to my hubby...   I can post it!

The shed was made using an embossing folder from Hunkydory!

I tried to make it look somewhat like my hubby's shed in our yard!

The lawnmower is also made using a stamp from Hunkydory.

I think my hubby had a nice day visiting with our daughter.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Blessings,

Masculine Birthday card

Click on pictures to enlarge photos

I think I actually made this card this past June...and I'm finally getting around to posting it.
Yikes!  Where does the time go???????

I made the card using a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs...Artistic Outpost...The stamp name is Gatsby.  I made the inside of the card using a technique from Jennifer macQuire's blog   I like how the inside reminds you of a book.   So I stamped "The Great Gatsby on the side of the card.

More masculine Cards

I just said in my last post that I do NOT like to make masculine cards...
and then I go and show you 12 Masculine cards that I just made...

Jim and I attended a stamp show a few weeks ago, and they had some card kits at the show.

I immediately thought "great!  I can make up some masculine cards to keep on hand!"
I made them up mostly as birthday...but some also for get well and sympathy.

Masculine Birthday Card

My sister made a card request for a card that she could give to a coworker...  But she couldn't give me any ideas...

When possible I like to personalize my cards...
I asked her if he, fished, golfed, bowled, did gardening, etc.
and she answered no to all of the above and couldn't think of anything to add...so I thought maybe adding his name to personalize the card...

I found this pin on Pinterest...and used it for my inspiration...
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/92112754851907313/

The problem was I didn't have dies or could I find any templates that I use for my Numbers and letters...

So my, dear, crafting buddy Kathi, came to my house yesterday with some of her dies for me to use...

She brought her "We are memory Keepers" punch board for the Numbers and her Sizzix dies for the alphabet letters...

My striped background paper came from Stampin' Up, my stars were made with a die from SweetNSassy.  My birthday sentiment is from a die mad by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Masculine cards

I have not made too many cards lately!  (I'm sure you noticed that...smile)
It usually puts me in a rut and makes it more difficult for me to find inspiration
to get started in making cards again.  When that happens to me...
I grab for a card making magazine for inspiration...
It worked!

The images came from the magazine...I just mounted them on card stock and added a few embellishments and on some of them I used a Sweet 'N Sassy stamp for the sentiments.

Masculine cards

See Below for my card for the Our Daily Breads Design Challenge...

Masculine cards are always difficult for me to make.  The card in my last post had lace, ribbons, pearls, etc on it.  It's more my style...

So I went looking for some inspiration to make a masculine card and I found this card on the Split Coast Stampers site...( a card made by Hejanderson... Hope the link works

The second card I made using two of the items that I purchased this past Saturday when I went to a stamp show.  I purchased the Gatsby stamp at the OUR DAILY BREAD DESIGNS booth.  I also purchased the banner die that I used on my cards.
My designer paper is from Stampin' up

Edited to add:
When I posted this card to my blog, I had looked at the challenge at "Our Daily Breads Designs, but I didn't think this card qualified.  I went back and reread the rules and I think it does, so I am adding this card to the ODBD challenge.

The challenge is a recipe challenge
Using the letters ODBD

My O - Our Daily Bread Designs stamp, Gatsby, (Artistic Outpost)
D - Dies, I used the banner die from Our Daily Bread Designs
       B - brads, Birthday card
D - Designer paper with Diamonds in it

The Challenge can be found here

In my area (even though the calendar reads spring...It does NOT feel like spring.  smile
Thought that would be a good quote for today

PS.  I glued my second card crooked.  I started to reach for my "Unglue" when I remembered the hint to try and reheat it with a glue gun.  I tried that first and it worked!  I could take my crooked piece off and just reglue it and put it down straight on my second try.

Happy Valentine's day

Happy Valentine's day!  I know I'm a bit late...but at least it is still Valentine's day when I posting this.
I had a sort of nice day...I started out my day by sitting almost two and half hours in a dentist chair...Not exactly fun.  But I am fortunate that I finally found a dentist that I actually like...and doesn't terrify me...and understands that I am a big chicken with these kinds of things...

While I was at the dentist's office...hubby went out and bought me the beautiful card that you see above...It doesn't show how pretty it is in the picture.  It also has some sparkles and gems on it... and yes off to the left of the card is a box of chocolates.  I am so addicted to chocolate.  I'm actually not supposed to eat it...so please don't tell my doctor.  smile...

Since Jim surprised me with a card...I knew I needed to get one done for him...so I quick put one together...I kept meaning to find the time to do one...but you know how it is...
I needed to make a monochromatic card for the Split Coast Twisted Sister challenge for this week, so I also used this card for that challenge.
