Rose card

This card was made using a stamp from one of my magazines.

"Simply cards and Papercrafts" Issue 148.

I like this rose stamp  (for one thing it is easy to color.

I have been busy trying to make sample cards for my sister ...I had been after her for years to make cards with me.  I think she thought she wouldn't like to craft.  A few months back she came and made a card.  I know she really enjoyed herself and hoped to get back and make some more.  She's a very busy lady so it wasn't till this week that she called me and said she would like to make another card.  (Made my day!)  We had so much fun the last time she came to make her card.  So I have several cards to post that I have made as samples for her to look at and see if she wants to try making any of them.

That is one of the reasons I haven't checked my blog lately.  And what a nice surprise at all the comments I have to look at...I so appreciate it when people stop by and comment on my blog.  I didn't have time today to post them, but tomorrow I will try and catch up with my commenting.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

My son-in-law's Birthday card!

I made this card for my son-in-law's birthday!

I made it using a theme that Is the theme for December at the Twisted sister challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

The theme was to make anything  "Disney"

I don't have any Disney stamps...  So I was kind of stuck until I saw that one of the talented ladies at Split coast used a star on her card.  "When you wish upon a star was always a favorite song of mine.

I've been to Disney World a long time ago.  I was there for about a total of 6 hours.  (Anyone who has visited there would know that is not much time to see all that is there)  Even though, the visit was short I still have great memories of visiting there and the thing that would always stand out in my mind was the castle.  So that's why I wanted to use that on my card.  My son in law has been there twice so he would immediately get the castle theme.

My star was made using a die from Stampin' up.  My image was found on Pinterest!

This is the inside of the card!  I added some scratch off lottery tickets to the inside of the card.  (He did win $5.00 But I paid more for the tickets than what he won).  Now I remember why I rarely buy lottery tickets anymore.

Another Center step card

This is  a card I made for my nephew's birthday!

It's a another center step card!  He is a carpenter by trade, and builds houses.  His own house is a farm house and has a rustic look.

I used dies and an embossing folder from a magazine that I had "Simply Cards and papercrafts.  My dog die is from Impression Obsession. i colored my lamp die with copics.

added a brad for the doorknob, a tree sticker, and used paper from Su for the wood look (Wood Textures) I fussy cut some of the extra wood off to the side of the house.

Yes, Another Christmas card

I made this card for the Christmas Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  We were to make January's Christmas card showing "berries" on the card.  I put a few berries on my wreath.

The card is a center step card.  My die cut wreath and my dry embossed door were made with materials from one of my magazines. (Simply cards and paper craft)

It seems like all I do anymore is apologize for not being on line as much.  I have such good intensions...and then a week like last week happens.  I was so sick!  Too sick to even sit at the computer.  (so you Know I was not feeling well.

Hubby told me I should take a covid test because I had so many different symptoms.  Fortunately the test was negative.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Flower pot card!

The "try a new technique" post at Spring Coast stampers this week was to make a flower pot card.  My card didn't exactly follow the rules, so I didn't upload it to the challenge...but the challenge gave me the inspiration to make this card.

After making so many Christmas cards it was a nice break to make something other than a Christmas card.

I used my spellbinder flower pot die and dry embossed my flower pot with an embossing folder by Darice.  My flowers were die cut with a die from Stampin' Up called Pierced Blooms added some gems for the flower centers and sticker butterfly.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Blessings, Jill

bookmark

This doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment to do a bookmark!

Bur to me it was,  I've been having a difficult time making anything these days...so I'm just happy when I have a small break through.

I made this bookmark using a tutorial from Splitcoast stampers... You can find the link here.

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cornerbookmark/

This was the first challenge that I did for the year for the twisted Sister group.  (Yes. I certainly belong in that group...smile)

The above medal was a Christmas present from my husband.   I think it's the first medal that I have ever received.  And Yes, I am a bookworm.  I had made the comment to him a while back that in the 6 years since I started writing down the titles of all the books I have read... It was over 500 books.

Since He gave me this for Christmas I recounted and at the end of this year My total is now  600 books.  Not all the books I read are like 400 pages...some are kind of short.

The book I am reading at the present time Is "Winter Garden" by Kristin Hannah. (This book is 394 pages)

My Favorite Author is Irene Hannon.

I'm a member of Good Reads.  That's where I log the books that I read.

Thank You for visiting my blog tody..

Accomplish!

 ACCOMPLISH!

My word of the year!

I don't know how many of you do the "
Word of the year" thing.   I have been trying to do it for many years.

Sometimes the word I pick works for me sometimes NOT!

The word that  worked best for me was BELIEVE!

This isn't the greatest photo of this pillow.

But it will give you the idea.

I made this pillow for my hubby (who had been in the Navy).

Please don't ask me me how many years ago that....I started making this pillow  (smile!)

I recently found it in my cedar chest.

Yes, I spotted it several times through the years...

but never got around to making a pillow out of the stitched piece.

I mentioned it to my daughter and she said that she would gladly make it into a pillow for me.

I was so happy that she did!  Mission Accomplished!  A finished Pillow.

Hubby was surprised and I think it meant more to him because it was a gift not just from me but his daughter too.

Happy New Year

This card was made using some of the paper that hubby put under our Christmas tree this year.

My Favorite paper, Hunkydory!  It's from a Sheet called "All Dressed Up."

Tomorrow I hope to post the word that I have chosen for this year.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Jill
