Cuttlebug Hunkydory Card

I made this card using Coredinations paper for the background.  I ran it though my Cuttlebug, using an embossing folder (textile) and sanded it to bring out the blue underneath.  I added lace, and My Hunkydory Stickers.

Birthday card for my Sister

I made a birthday card for my sister...(she's actually my step-sister) but I consider her to be more like my sister.  I made her a box card...the link to make a box card can be found below...

I still have to finish the inside of my card and put a birthday verse in it...

In the second pic I had to post the new flowers that my husband bought for me...

My card was made using a cuttlebug embossing folder (Textile) and the front embellishment mounted on Spellbinder dies (Labels Eleven)  I used a Stampin" spot ink (Bashful Blue) to rub on my cuttlebug folder before embossing.  My Verse on front is a sticker and the flower is a K & Company sticker.

Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for a friend using lots of dies, Die-namics Prima Donna Petals for the flowers, memory box die for the background, and cuttlebug embossing folder for the flower pot, and an ek sucess punch for the lace border...background stampin' up designer paper...sticker for sentiment, added a ribbon and stick on beads...

Finally made another card...after a couple of my cards ended up in file 13...
I managed to make this one...
It's made with a card topper from Our daily bread designs where I purchased most of my flower soft supplies...
I used Stampin' Up paper for part of card, and used a cuttlebug embossing folder (distressed stripes for the bottom of my card) added dimensionals, lace and ribbon.

Cards I don't like to make

I enjoy making cards, and as many of you know, it's one of my favorite things to do.  However, I do not like making sympathy cards.  This week I needed to quickly make 4 sympathy cards.  And it's for an especially sad occasion--I just hope my cards will help to bring comfort.

Both cards have a cuttlebugged image on them (the leaves embossing folder---My husband colored the leaves for me with copics.  The paper is Stampin' Up

Lily card

I meant to take a pic of our beautiful lilies in our back yard to add along with this card...and yes, I forgot...We've been busy with lots of visitors and more coming tonight.  It's one thing I do like about summer (getting to see family and friends that I have not seen for a long time)  It should calm down around here in a week or two, when our remodeling (should be done) and our friends and family will be back home to Arizona, and California...but at the moment, I don't want to think about them leaving.  I enjoy their company so much.

My card is a Sweet N Sassy stamp, colored with copics by my husband, I added a cuttlebugged background (swiss dots folder) and sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Inks (tattered rose) I cut my image out with a Spellbinder die Labels 6) and added a pink silk ribbon bow.

Late for the teaparty

This is a card I made for LAST week's teapot challenge, Yes I am a bit late, but I was stuck as what to to to make a card...but last night, while I was packing up my craft room (an endless job...at least it seems that way...smile.   I found some cute fabric with playing cards.  Of course, I had even forgotten that I had something like that.  It inspired me to sit down and try and make a card for the challenge...

I used fabric for the cards, Cuttlebug hearts embossing folder for the background, EK success punch for the border, added ribbon, and popped my image up with pop dots...

Baby Boy card

Needed to make a quick baby card.  I used an image that my husband colored with copics---
the stamp is unknown.  I had stamped this a while back when I had a really fun day getting together with a group of stampers at a scrapbook store. 
The designer paper is from October Afternoon, the top of the card is embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder (Swiss Dots) and I added a ribbon , sticker, and some pop dots to pop up the image.

MMTPT188 Teapot Tuesday Challenge for this week

The is my challenge card for this week's challenge at Split Coast Stampers for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge.  Our card was supposed to have a cat, books, jewels, or something with Royalty on it.
I only have one small cat stamp...so I decided to use this image for my card.  Details for the challenge can be sound here
My card is a center step card, and I used the tutorial to make this card from a tutorial at Split coast stampers.  The link for the tutorial can be found here.

My husband found the image that I used, it was black and white, and he colored it for me using copics.  The sides of my cards were made using blue metallic paper and I embossed it using my Cuttlebug, using the Textile embossing folder, I then heat embossed using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  I added a row of lace with attached beads to the bottom, and ribbon, butterfly sticker, and score-pal to score my card folds for the center step card.

This past Monday I had a great day shopping with two of my crafting buddies. We went to my favorite craft store...which is about an hour's drive from my home...So glad it is NOT closer to me. I would be even more broke than I already am, and I'm having a hard enough time as it is...to get my craft room organized, and cleaned out...LOL (In other words, to be honest, I really don't need more stuff....but it's so hard to resist!)

Part of what has been keeping me away from my card making lately is the "fixing" up we have been doing around our house. We had lots of water damage from a leaky roof, and One by one we have been fixing ceilings (and floors at the same time). So you know that means clearing out the WHOLE room. I'm almost embarrassed to show you the before pic of our bedroom below...I'm sure anyone on a tight budget will understand why we waited to do some of the work and have been doing it a little bit at a time. We were hoping to get some help from our home owners insurance...but unfortunately...it ended up being our problem.

I feel like I have been moving, because to date, I have packed up three entire rooms...(One by one)(we have No attic, No garage, no finished basement, so everything had to go into the other rooms of our house).

The pic below is the same room, hard for even me to believe...now complete...several months later, and after me sleeping on a recliner for several weeks while it was being done... I now feel like it was worth it.

3d cards, Sympathy card

The above card was made from a 3d kit, I purchased last week at the CKC Scrapbook Convention that I attended ...I made this card to give to my step-brother as a sympathy card for the loss of his mother (My Stepmother) She had been in a nursing home for a long time and on Hospice for over a year. Even though we knew her time would be soon it still came as a shock to us. Please keep our family in prayer this week for the funeral...thank you...

This card and the card below this one were also made with 3d sheets that I purchased at the CKS Convention. I like to do rubber stamping, but I still think 3d cards,( also sometimes called paper tole cards)are my favorite. I switched to rubber stamped cards thinking my postage would be less...but even with stamped cards, I find myself making lots of layers, so I don't think I have saved that much on postage by rubber stamping instead....smile

My cards were both make using cuttlebug backgrounds, Stampin' Up, and October Afternoon Designer paper...added pop dots, lace, and ribbon.

With this particular challenge we are pretending that we are going to Disney World, in Florida, USA...

I don't want to pretend, I was to go for real!!! Smile...

I was only there one time, and it was for just a couple of hours...If you can imagine that! I didn't get to see a whole lot, but I am grateful that I did get to go there. The trip is especially meaningful to me because I got to go with my Mother. It's wonderful memories like that ....that keep me going....I am really missing her.

When I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for my card.... The Cinderella Castle, kept coming to mind. It was one of the things that stood out most in my mind.

I made my castle using Stamping Up designer paper, Blueberry crisp...I cuttlebugged it with the Tiny Mosaic embossing folder to try and make it look like cement blocks. I then sponged the edges with Su Marina Mist ink. This was fun to make but it took me just a bit longer to do than I thought it would. I guess I'm not a quick Builder! Smile

This challenge had me stumped, and this is the best I could come up with...

My images came from a child's coloring book, I used them for templates for my red wagon,

Card made for My Mother

This card did not turn out exactly the way I wanted it to, but I hope My Mother knows I did try and make a special card for her. I liked the woven ribbon technique so much I wanted to try it again. The problem is that I have very little ribbon in my stash, and what I do have would be too short to make the wreath. So I used some Gold ribbon that I found (the only thing is it looks like brown ribbon in the scan. This card also does not scan well. I think for one of my new years resolutions ....I should make one for learning how to take pictures of my cards with my digital camera!

Favorite Techniques continued

All of the cards I am showing here, I think I have posted on my blog before...but since I started my blog EIGHT months ago (is that possible?) some of these may have been posted a long time ago.

3D CARD

Making 3d cards, is my very favorite Technique and I have more cards using this technique than any other. I started making them about 3 years ago, and I have lost count how many I have made. I know it's in the hundreds. The card below came from Penny's photobucket.

I always use a small fine scissors to cut out my pieces, use pop dots, and on this card I used paper lace, and ribbon to trim

IRIS FOLDING

Iris Folding is my second favorite Technique. This card was entered into a challenge at split coast where you were to use a quote. My quote is rubber stamped, I think the stamp is from Inkadinkado. The handle and spout is paper pieced. I found the pattern at

Tea Bag Folding

Tea Bag Folding is another technique that I have not done a lot of...But I have made a few cards using squares, diamonds, triangles, ovals, and this card below uses a circle. RUBBER STAMPING

Cuttlebug

I made this card using two of my cuddlebug folders, swiss dots is the one on the bottom, and I believe the top one is the textile folder. I used a Stampin Up stamp, Bella Rose

MOLA

Embossing
