AAAcardsgame #15

This is a third attempt with this card.  My hubby will tell you that there was a lot of drama in making this card.  I really like the digi that he colored (especially since I like cantaloupe)

So I thought this card would be a perfect fit for the summer food challenge.  My first card background I made the mistake of stamping my sentiment direct to paper...It did not work, so I cut out my image and tried to glue it to a new background...second try the card was crooked...and when I went to try and unglue it...yes I ruined another background!

Then the drama...yes, this card went on a trip!  It went flying across the room.  I meant to throw in another room, just to get rid of my frustration...but instead of going straight....It went up!  Up and over a very tall heavy piece of furniture.  Jim had to rescue my card...(and he added...along with the dust bunnies)...OK...remember it's a heavy piece of furniture and difficult for me to move.  Does that sound like a good excuse?   So I hope I at least get an A for effort!

This card the image was colored with copics by my hubby.  I think it was a rubber stamp that was used at a stamp meet I attended...maybe about three years ago.  I again used my spellbinder Ribbon threader die, and a die cut for the sentiment (Elizabeth Craft designs)

Sympathy card

I made this card for my friend, Cherie, who recently lost her grandfather.  She was his only grandchild...so they were very close.  I wanted to make a special card, and I thought that this digi image (colored with copics by my hubby) would work for me and the verse I wanted to use on the card.

My card for today..

My blog post does not have a very catchy title...I always struggle with putting a title with my posts...when I asked my hubby for a title he started clucking like a chicken.  I told him that was not much help...LOL...  Anyone, who may have read his blog...would soon pick up that he is the "talker" in the family not me...smile...

He also colored the above image for my card...If you saw his blog post a few days ago...he posted this image...I finally got around to making his image into a card.  It takes him many hours to color the images with copics...but he always seems to get them done faster than in the time it takes me to make a card.

Waiting for her Prince Charming...

These cards were made with digi images that my husband found on the Internet...at a Free coloring book pages site...(and again I forgot to look up the link...I will try to add it later when I find it...)
He colored the images for me with copics.

The first image reminded me a little bit like Cinderella waiting for her Prince Charming.

Sorry, I have not been around lately...Many reasons for my absence, Computer problems...busy with appointments and away from home for a couple of days...

My computer is old and when I started having problems a few days ago...I thought it bit the dust...but my "handy" hubby worked on my computer and it seems to be okay now.

I will try to catch up on my visiting when I can...

Get well card

 This a get well card for our neighbor who is in the hospital after having a stroke...Hubby colored the digi with copics, and wanted me to keep the card rather simple for him to give...

Well, If you recently watched the video that I had posted on my blog...
You would know that the theme was "Shopping"   Maybe, I shouldn't have watched that Utube Video...because that's exactly what I did on Saturday (at my favorite craft store).  I haven't shopped for craft supplies for about four months (which has to be a record for me)  Other than  two small trips to the big box store for absolute necessities...like glue, etc...can't make cards with out it. I spent very little on those two trips...

However, on Saturday, I made up for it...I bought spellbinder dies, more stencils, flower soft card fronts, a punch, embossing paste, score tape, stickers, rubber stamps (Penny Black, and SweetNSassy)  Paper Punch Doctor.  (that stuff works...it really helped unstick my punches!) And a glue glider Gun.

The shop owner surprised me by telling us we could take pics if we wanted to and I could put them on my blog.  However, I did not have my camera with me, but my crafting buddy  took pics with her phone but I'm not sure if they took or not.  I sure hope so...I think you would enjoy seeing her neat

Sugar Nellie...Winifred

This is another image colored by my husband with copics.  He used E00, E000, E0000,
R0000, G00, E51, R02, C00, R20, E41, C00, E39, E34, C3, Y11, E30, BG72, YG00.
The digi is from Funky Kits, Sugar Nellie image, Winifred.
He made the digi rather large so it's a 5 x 7 card.  He didn't want me to embellish it too much
so I just made a flower in the corner with my Die-namics die, colored the flower with copics to match the sweater, and added the vine with die from Cheery, Lynn, added some beads

 This card was made with a Sugar Nellie digi (Nancy) my husband purchased the digi at Funky kits...He colored the image with copics E00,B00,E37,E33,E31,RV34,Rv66,RV55,T5,C0,E97,E000,C00.
I used Stampin' Up designer paper for the background, spellbinder labels Ten die to cut out my image. Added ribbon, brads and a prima flower

 The bird bath was a digi from Squigglefly, my husband colored the image with copics.  I thought he did such a beautiful job with all the coloring, that I decided to just make it into a note card and keep the card plain to show off his lovely work.

My last card was also a digi (Squigglefly) that my husband colored with copics for me.  I made it into a quick card for my granddaughter (who is very fashion wise)  (smile)  Aren't most Seventeen year old girls into fashion?

My husband has a binder full of images he colored for me, I haven't counted them but I'm sure there are over 100 colored images in it.  So I need to get busy and make some more cards with his beautifully colored images.  I have a hard time keeping up with him...

I used my Grand Nestabilities Label 6 from Spellbinders to cut out the image .  My husband bought me the Grand Calibur for me to cut out my Spellbinder dies (an Anniversary present)  Today, I am especially glad that he did, because I cracked my plate for my Big Kick machine.  Need to buy some replacements.  If you saw how well "loved" my plates are...I think you would understand why this may have happened...smile...

I also used Stampin' Up designer paper for my background along with added brads, and ribbon.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge

I liked this image so much that my husband purchased it for me, and then colored it for me twice. Not only that he also told me about the challenge at Digi Doodle, and that I had to have stripes on my card for the challenge. (I'll get him making cards yet...LOL) So after saying that...

Made this card for a friend, I entered it in the Ways to use it Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...
The Challenge is to make a card with either a child on it or one to give to a child.
The image was colored with copics, by my husband, and it's a Sugar Nellie digi that my husband purchased from funky kits.
I used Stampin' Up designer paper for the background, and Stampin' Up satin ribon for trim, along with lace for border

Spring is coming

It won't be too much longer and my favorite season will be here!  I thought this card looked like spring! I enjoyed the technique that I used on my card yesterday so much that I had to use that technique again.
My center fold card was made using a digi image from Squigglefly, My score-pal, cuttlebug embossing folder for my side images, added brads, pop dots, and a purchased flower

Craft night friends

I am so fortunate to have two great friends who come to my house every Thursday night to craft with me. We have such a great time, and I have learned so much from them. I made this as a thank you card for one of them. It's supposed to represent the three of us. If only I was a size 3 just like on this card...LOL. NOT! I wanted to add that I noticed that this does look like a "Summer" porch. I know it's Autumn, smile. But this porch scene is very timely for me, because we just had our small deck, made over with adding a roof over top and screening it in. My porch may not look as elegant as the porch on this card, but it is just as comfy. We had our morning cup of coffee sitting out on the porch watching the birds. Oh, what a tough life we live...smile.

My card was made using Squigglefly image "Up a tree without a ladder" by artist Lynn Stansbery. My texture was made by using a cuttlebug embossing folder (Distressed Stripes)

My image was colored with copics by my husband YR000, E50,E17,c4,c5, E97,E31,R000, E40

I also used a cuttlebug die to cut out my leaves.

SFC110 Squigglefly challenge (Using Buttons

Time for another Squigglefly Challenge. This week's Challenge is to use Buttons on your card (actual buttons or chipboard buttons) and for an extra challenge add a bow too.

My image can be found at Squigglefly, my husband colored it with copics, I used a punch to punch out the squares...some of the background paper was colored with copics to match the image and the rest is October Afternoon designer paper, Just added the buttons and a ribbon.

How do you Stop a Charging Elephant?

Don't worry the card is not real...it's one of those fake ones that come in the mail advertisements LOL

Jake is a 13 year old boy who is having his 17th Surgery. Jake's Mother wanted Jake to receive some funny/Joke cards for him to read during his recovery. Doing this card was out of my comfort zone. I usually like to make frilly cards with flowers, lace, etc. But it was fun to make.
I just hope Jake likes it and it gives him a smile. Please add Jake to your prayers.
My image is a digi that I found in a magazine I recently purchased it gave permission to scan and duplicate for use. I made two copies of the digi and popped them up after coloring w/copics. I used come October afternoon designer paper for the background, added a brad and Wiggly eyes, and added a computer generated joke.
