Another Christmas card

Still working on my Christmas cards.  This one is a "cheater" card...

The bow on the top of the ornament was saved many years ago from a card I received.

I recyled it to use on this card.  The ornamnet was cut from a die from Spell binders..

The lace trim on the bottom is an Our daily bread die.  the sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampin' Up.  The background was done using an embossing folder.

TLC Challenge at Split Coast

The TLC challenge at Split Coast this week was to make a Tri Shutter Card.
It's been a while since I have entered that challenge and a while since I made a Tri Shutter card...so I wanted to give it a try.

The paper I used was from stampin' Up...Brightly Gleaming.

I used a die from Penny Black for my sentiment, and cut out my stars with Stampin' Up;s Stitched stars die.  My card was difficult to photograph because of  using miror paper.

Penguin Birthday Card

Another Penguin place/Playmates card.  This one is a birthday card.

After making 6 of these penguin cards...It was time to start using some of the paper scraps.

This was not a 10 minute card....smile!  But I actually enjoy doing this kind of card.

We had a beautiful day in our area...probably be the last day that I will be able to sit out on my porch to craft.  I so enjoyed doing that.  There's so much light to craft by, and it's nice to be outside.  I 'm just happy I was able to do that a couple of times these last few weeks.

Thank you vou for visiting my blog today...

Hugs,

Jill

PS.I just realized that I forgot to title this post...

So I'm back again to do that, and to answer Brenda's question...

I forgot to add the dies. The center ovals were made with a die from Taylor's Expressions, and the back ground was made using a die from Ellentina Cutting dies.  (I purchased this one from a craft show)

Feels like Home

This image is a Stampin' Up image...  Called" Feels like Home"

My hubby colored it for me.  I think he did a great job with it.  I don't think it is one that is easy to color.  So many tiny little leaves, etc. I  Just made a frame with some Stampin Up Paper  (Wood Textures Designer Series paper.  I used a matching sentiment from the set.

Here's that crazy Cat again

Back on Septembwe 10th..  I posted this card...

https://ribbonchallenged.blogspot.com/2021/09/ralph-d-kat.html

It's Ralph D. Kat smoking a cigar...

A little repeat of the story...My brother asked me to make a card for my grandson who had just joined the military.  I asked him what kind of card did he want me to make.  He said a funny one...I asked him to give me some ideas,   He then told me the story about one of his co-workers who had a cat he called Ralph.  Ralph is always getting into mischief, and his co-worker would tell the funniest stories about him...   He in turn would tell my grandson about Ralph, and then they would make up their own stories about Ralph the KAT...  My last card I made for my brother had Ralph smoking a cigar this one has in drinking beer.   I had forgotten about this card until I read Nancy from What's on my Kitchen Counter posted some beer cards that she had made...

They were cute cards Nancy,  You can find her post here...

http://whatsonmykitchencounter.blogspot.com/

I also made a little joke book to go along with the card.

Birthday card

Still working on using my new goodies from Stampin' Up.

Instead of counting sheep in my sleep...I'm going to be counting penquins...smile...

I used the designer paper from the Penquing Place set,,

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.   I have really enjoyed the nice weather we had for the last coupole of days.   I sat on my porch to make some cards.   I wanted to do that again today...but it's a bit too chilly for me.  (My hubby loves the chilly weather)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today

Gift card Holder

Another gift card holder...I have made and posted these before...

I like the fact that they can be made using a 12 x 12 piece of paper... and you do not have to use glue...

Here is where I found the instructions...

3D card

I found this 3D sheet in my stash that I had saved a long time ago.

It seemed like a perfect card to make for a friend that I recently found again (on the internet) after many years of hunting for her.

Long story to follow here...

My freind was the daughter of one of my mother's best friends that she worked with....When she would visit her friend she would take me along to visit her friend's daughter.

We did lots of activites together...

One of the most memorable to me... was the day her mother dropped the two of us off at a roller skating rink.  (this was a long time agao, and things seemed much safer then..a Mother could just drop her children off with strangers and take off!  And to think we didn't even have a cell phone to call if we needed help!)

It was my first time at a skating rink.  It was not the first time my friend had been there.  I went to get my rental skates and  to get ready to skate.

I watched my friend (who was probalby about 10 years old at the time) go flying around the rink like she was trying out for the olympics.  Me, on the other hand, could not even stand up in my skates let alond skate with them.  I was so frustrated and I finally just sat along the side lines by myself watching every one else skate..Thinking it would be a very long afteroon.  I didn't know anyone else at the rink and no one that I thought could help me.

After a while of just sitting there (Probably looking like the end of the world)  some older girl came over and sat next to me and asked me what was wrong.  I told how I couldn't even stand up in my skates...forget about actually skating!

She stared down at my feet...

And finally said to me...

"Somthing looks funny..."

You have two LEFT shoes!

Well that wxplained it!

I have never been the most graceful person in the world...

and I would tell people that I have two left feet... but no one ever took me Literally before.

Sticker card

I made a "cheater" card.  It's made mostly with stickers...

which means...quick!

I am a little bit late making a graduation card for my daughter...

so I thought a quick card was needed.  (She got her Master's degree in Accounting)

and I guess it is never too late to tell your child that you are proud of her.

(She definitely did NOT get her ability with math and numbers from her Mother!)

I don't know how it is with everyone else...but I have drawers full of stickers!

(What was I thinking?)  I guess it's about time that I start using them?)

Anyone else hoarding stickers?  Or it is just me...smile.
