The Mouse House/Teddy Bear House

This is a repost of a post I made two years ago...My Teddy bear house from a Mouse House pattern.

Since I have a lot of people from the House Mouse website who visit, I thought they might like to see my The Teddy bear House, which was made from a pattern I saw in Better Homes and Gardens magazine about 16 or so years ago, My father in-law made it for my grandson, who was two at the time.  I couldn't find little mice to put in it...which is what the House called for....but I found some little teddy bears instead so the Mouse House became a Teddy Bear House inside.  Some of things you see in it I didn't let a two year old play with, since I had it a number of years, as he got older I added some news things.  The tree on the front cover, was painted in oils by my Husband's Aunt.

At the present time we have our bathroom gutted, and have been busy with sweeping up more sawdust and plaster board, and haven't had as much time for my computer, but, hopefully, it will be done soon, and then all we will have to do is MORE painting.   Our redoing, and fixing around our home will be at a stand still for awhile.  The budget, (what budget?) is gone, and we are tired of  the work and mess of fixing and remodeling...but it sure does make a difference when it is done.

Edited to add:  I was trying very hard this morning to quick get my card posted along with my long to do list for this morning, that I forgot to add my card details...
My card uses a Stampabilities  House Mouse Stamp, The Can showers, (with Muzzy, mudpie)
the stamp # is HMKR1035
I used Stampin' Up Designer paper,  Stampin' Up Lattice folder for my outer circle and cut the circles out with my big kick using a Spellbinder's die, The image was colored by my husband with copics.  I added a ribbon and button brads.

I want to thank the House Mouse Team for giving me the chance to be a guest designer.  The design team's cards are always so amazing, I look forward to seeing all that fabulous inspiration each time there is a new challenge, and they are as nice and helpful as they are talented.  It has been a joy to do this, and it was so wonderful to win the gift certificate to use for my stamps.  (they arrived very quickly too).  Thank you again...

My hubby's name is Jim.
And if I may brag for a moment, Jim not only does a terrific job at coloring most of my images for me, He is also a wonderful cook.  great at photography, and has also sewn himself a suit, and all by himself took half the roof off of our home to build us a dormer  (no, he is not a carpenter)

Anyone for golf?

No, I don't play golf, but my brother-in-law and sister-in-law do, so this card is going to go to them, hopefully, they have a sense of humor, (actually they do, they are a fun couple to be with) so I think they will like this card.  This card was stamped with a stamp from Art Impressions.  I have always enjoyed seeing cards with these cute images, and finally bought two at my last stamp show.  My husband colored the image with copics...YR18, Y18, B45, E34, R39, T1, BG05,E07, B18, R29, E71, C11, T6,E57, RV10, YR04
I made a frame around the image using Stampin'Up paper, and added stickles to their glasses.

Stencils

I have a new fascination...Stencils...for years I had some stencils in my craft drawer and I wasn't quite sure what to do with them...then I found this website...

The design team on this website have ideas and tutorials for stencils that I had never seen before, and I want to try them all...LOL.  All I need is more time...

I needed to quick make a thank you card,  and this made up quick and easy for me...

I used Dream Weaver stencil LL535

Colored in the stencil with a black Micron pen, and added yellow button brads and a yellow ribbon. done!

More pictures of my craft room

 Closer look at my workspace...I keep my ribbons on the bottom shelf, and my finished cards in boxes.  I love the white cabinet...It's so easy to pull out the sections to get what I need...My spellbinder dies, are in one, envelopes in another, more embellishments, and paper in another...

 This is how I store my ribbon, I really like these cases, I tried other storage like shoe boxes, poking holes for the ribbon, putting in on spindles.  But I like this storage the best, it was a bit of investment buying the plastic boxes, some I bought with a coupon at Michaels, and some on Amazon.

 I told my husband I would tell people that the pole is to practice dancing...LOL

Close up of the cross stitch on the wall, I don't think I posted this to my blog before.  My Mother really liked this picture.  It had been one of her Mother's day presents.  I'm a slow cross stitcher so it took me a while to do.  Don't think this "grandmother" could do anything like this anymore.

Craft room about 90% done

I wished I had a craft room that I could post...I realize that my craft room does not have the creativity and pop like some of the ones in those links....they are fabulous.  But I am finally happy with my space. It's not completely done,  still need to paint the closet and closet doors, etc.  But it is now usable, and quite functional.  I know I will be spending less time at my dining room table crafting now.

 I asked my contractor who put in my new hardwood floor to find me some upper cabinets for more storage in my room.

 The cabinet in the corner holds my embellishments.

 I was looking at the photos of my room and told my husband that something else I need is a radiator cover...LOL.  He just kind of groaned...He has made me 4 for some of our other rooms.  My paint color is a light pink,  (My favorite color) at night it has a lavender look.  The paint is by Behr, it's called French Heirloom.

For the Teapot Party MMTPT198

It's been a while since I have been able to do a Teapot Challenge at Split coast, It's my favorite Challenge at Split Coast.   This week the challenge is to bring an outdoor scene, or something like a picnic.  So Here's my picnic scene...They sure look like they are enjoying the fruit.  The cute image is a rubber stamp from House Mouse, and it was colored for me by my husband with copics.  I added two stickers, and popped the image up with pop dots.

My husband colored my image for me using copics.  The stamp for this adorable House Mouse image is one of the larger stamps, so I kept the card kind of plain so the focus would be on the cute image.

I said before that I am a very blessed person...Now I know it for sure.  My birthday was a little more than a week ago, and I am still receiving presents.  My two weekly craft buddies, stopped at my house tonight, and these are some of the things they brought for me.  They wanted to bring it last week, but with everything so Topsy turvy with the home remodeling there honestly was not a Flat surface in my house (or at least very few...LOL)  The cake was delicous,   and I adore the Candy flower Bouquet.  (the candy won't last long at my house)  You will Notice that  things are mostly in PINK!

And Yes, My image was colored by my husband, He loves to use copics, and colors most of my images for me.  He even gave me a list as to what colors he used, and at the moment I can't find that list...so I will have to add the copics colors when I find them...and if I find them..LOL

I think I do have a valid excuse for being so unorganized...at least for being even more unorganized than I usually am...smile.  I know I would not win awards for being the most organized person---

My craft room has been mostly in boxes for the last couple of weeks, while we had a contractor come and re plaster a water damaged ceiling from a leaky roof.  While we were at it we had a new floor put down, and, of course, all of the above means that I had to take everything out of the room and box it up.

Well, for those who have been following my blog, I am happy to report that my craft room is almost done.  Just needs some finishing touches.  And, so far, I have found that it does help me to be more organized.  (hopefully, I won't "junk" it up again).

Back to House Mouse.  I was so delighted to know that I had won the opportunity to be a guest designer, but I also won a gift certificate for the free stamps.  It was so difficult to choose which ones I wanted.  I asked my husband for help picking them out.  I asked him, "Which ones do you want? and he answered me by saying...."I want all of them!"  LOL.  It seemed that I had no sooner ordered my stamps and then were in my mailbox.  House Mouse had no way of knowing this, but they arrived very shortly before my birthday, so I thought they felt like a birthday present.  I am so grateful for the lovely stamps.  Which you will definitely being seeing on my blog in the near future.  My husband has already colored them.  smile.

National scrapbooking day...

I so hoped to make a page today for national scrap booking day...but I spent the day instead running errands, and getting some things to finish my craft room.  (almost done)

Repost of Mother's Memory jar

Since my craft room is still not together, and most of my craft things are still in boxes...I decided to do a couple of  re posts on some of the gifts that I made for my Mother through the years.  Hoping that some of these gifts will give some inspiration to someone.

I originally posted about this Memory jar here...
My Mother only had a small apartment, and she was a "shopper" one of  her favorite things to do.  So...there was very little she needed, and it made it hard for me to buy things for her...fortunately, for me, she loved home made gifts.  So each year I would try and make something special for her.  This was a favorite of hers.  If you read my original post you will see that it was not my idea, I found it in a magazine.  I was surprised at how much this gift meant to her.  I still have it, and from time to time I will read the notes inside till the tears start to come, then I put it away for later.  But I also remember how much she enjoyed it and reading the notes I had inside......So it will be a keeper!

These are some of the notes from inside the jar...

I remember the cake Jerry and I baked for your birthday.  It fell apart when we took it out of the oven, and we tried to glue it back together with lots and lots of icing.  It was an Overly "sweet" cake, but you seemed to appreciate it anyway.  At least you made us feel that way....smile.

I remember the day I learned to ride my bike for the first time in my back yard.  I asked you if I could ride my bike out in front of the house.  You cautioned me that I was not ready, and I didn't listen, and I fell off of my bike into our neighbors bush next door.  The one with the thorns.  Ouch!

I remember how much fun I had with the flour and water paste you would make up for me, and let me make a collage on our basement door using cut outs from our old Sears Catalogs...

I remember a favorite dress that you purchased ...you bought it for me when I was in grade school...Yellow and white with small yellow rose buds on the dress underneath, and it had a pretty organza pinafore that went over top the dress with a pretty lace collar.
