Late Again

Sorry that has been so long since I posted.  I guess I don't have to tell anyone... That Time flies...

I made the above card for my granddaughter's birthday.  It's another 3D card.  It was  made using a 3D sheet made by Penny Wessenauer.

Another card made using a 3D sheet...  Right now we have some beautiful Blue Iris growing in our yard.

This Purple Azalea bush is no longer blooming in our yard...but I thought it was so pretty.  I wanted to get a picture of it

This is my favorite gardener in his raised garden bed.

3D card

I made this card for my sister's birthday!

It was made from an OLD 3D sheet I found in my stash.

Don't know what year it's even from.

When I first started making cards many, many years ago...

I started with 3D cards.  I liked to fussy cut back then, and they were fun putting them together.  Since that time I have had trouble with my shoulder and my hands some times lock up on  me....so I don't do too much fussy cutting these days.  plus I like to add extra layers to them for extra dimension...so I don't mail too many of these kind of cards due to the increasing cost of postage.  If I make one of these it's usually a card I can hand deliver as I did this one.

3D card

I found this 3D sheet in my stash that I had saved a long time ago.

It seemed like a perfect card to make for a friend that I recently found again (on the internet) after many years of hunting for her.

Long story to follow here...

My freind was the daughter of one of my mother's best friends that she worked with....When she would visit her friend she would take me along to visit her friend's daughter.

We did lots of activites together...

One of the most memorable to me... was the day her mother dropped the two of us off at a roller skating rink.  (this was a long time agao, and things seemed much safer then..a Mother could just drop her children off with strangers and take off!  And to think we didn't even have a cell phone to call if we needed help!)

It was my first time at a skating rink.  It was not the first time my friend had been there.  I went to get my rental skates and  to get ready to skate.

I watched my friend (who was probalby about 10 years old at the time) go flying around the rink like she was trying out for the olympics.  Me, on the other hand, could not even stand up in my skates let alond skate with them.  I was so frustrated and I finally just sat along the side lines by myself watching every one else skate..Thinking it would be a very long afteroon.  I didn't know anyone else at the rink and no one that I thought could help me.

After a while of just sitting there (Probably looking like the end of the world)  some older girl came over and sat next to me and asked me what was wrong.  I told how I couldn't even stand up in my skates...forget about actually skating!

She stared down at my feet...

And finally said to me...

"Somthing looks funny..."

You have two LEFT shoes!

Well that wxplained it!

I have never been the most graceful person in the world...

and I would tell people that I have two left feet... but no one ever took me Literally before.

Another page from my memory book

As I said in my previous posts, besides giving my friend's daughter a memory book of her Mother's pictures, etc.  I also put some of the greeting cards that I made in the book, so she could just pull them out and use them.

The above card is made from a 3D sheet I had for a long time.

I felt like a kid going to school on  her first day when I joined the Y for the first time (as a Senior Citizen)  Since there were no pools in the area where I grew up, and through the years, Hubby and I have rarely vacationed somewhere where there was a pool....

This was a real treat for me, to have my first ever pool membership...  I was a little nervous going to the pool by myself for the first time, so my friend, Carol, volunteered to come over to my town and go swimming with me for the first time.  We had a blast!  She had a Y in her town that she used to go swimming.   I guess I should say get wet in ....   In my case anyway!  Smile.  Yes, I confess I don't know how to swim.  I was just thinking of taking swimming lessons there  when the virus hit and the pool was shut down.

The picture above is not the pool I actually got to swim in but it reminded me of the pool that used to be there...sadly, it' no longer exsists.  It was a heated pool.  It also had high  windows to look out  while I was swimming.

Happy Thanksgiving

3D Thanksgiving card.  The 3D sheet is by Penny Wessenauer.

I added some orange lace around her 3D sheet image using a die from Our Daily Bread.

It's Thanksgiving in the USA!  A very different Thanksgiving.

It's going to be just my hubby (who is doing the cooking) and me!

One thing that I am giving thanks for is that my husband loves to cook, and he is a great cook.

I always tell him he should have been a chef.  Yes, he spoils me.  He often cooks me my favorite meals.  I will miss seeing my daughter and her family, and  sometimes she does the cooking for us.  This year we feel we need to do social distancing.

3D Christmas Card

I'm still working on my Christmas cards...(and it's slow going)  In between my stamped cards, (and other card techniques that seem to take me so much longer to complete a card...

I go back once in a while to my quick cards to feel like I'm accomplishing something, anyway.

Like another 3D card, They go so much quicker for me.  This is another image I made a long time ago, it just never made it to a card base, so I don't know where it came from.  I guess it's strange colors for a Christmas card but I like Christmas cards with unconventional colors.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, ( as much as we can have these days)

More 3d cards

I made some more 3D cards to add to my Christmas stash.  Sometimes it pays to look through old files where I found these images.

3D Snow men

I found some old 3D sheets that I still had (from years ago) and in between my other card making...

I'm making a few 3d cards...because I find them to be so quick to make  (and JILL does love to do fussy cutting,  (as long as my hands will let me that is)

.......................

My previous upload was a Card made using the Triple Fold card Tutorial...I had forgotten to add the link as to where I had found the tutorial.  I went back and updated my last post...but in case you don't have time to go back and look for it...

I'm also adding the link here to for that card " Triple fold card."

3D Dog card

I promise this will be the last 3D card that I will be posting for right now.  I have some more to post, but I want to try some other kinds of cards first.

This is a another card for my stash.  I liked the dog image, and I liked the cute sentiment.  Don't have anyone in mind for it right now.  Whoever, I send it to I would hope they know it's meant as a" fun" card.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

3D Wedding card

I am finally getting tired of making 3D cards...I have a few more to post...

and then I am going to take a break and try something else.

I don't have any weddings coming up, but I wanted something that I could put in my stash.

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Ours was quiet, and I did get to sit out on my back porch and craft a bit more today.

3D card for Fall

3D card for Fall, 3D sheet was made by Penny Wessenauer!

Another beautiful Autumn day where I live...I sat out on my back porch to fold some of my laundry, and to also do a liitle bit of card making.  I also sat out on the porch and did some reading today.  I'm afraid that there won't be too many more days like this one...so I wanted to enjoy the outdoors any way I could...

Yes, Yet another 3D card

I'm happy to be getting cards done.  (Of course, the next step is to actually get them in the mail.  smile!)

If you  have seen some of the other 3d (AKA... as Tole, or Decoupage) cards I have posted..  You would probably guess by now that I like to fussy cut.  My hands don't always like it though.

I stamped my sentiment with a stamp by Fiskars.  Just realized that I also used a NBUS... Not been used Before stamp.

If I manage to get all my unfinished tole cards done, I would like to try and start actually putting ink to the stamps I have that Have not been used before.  I think I have to live to the age of 110...  To actually finish all my UNFINISHED projects  and Unused stuff!

Hope everyone has a great weekend

Blessings,

Jill

#D Tulip Card

OK, I will be honest not too sure how I feel about this card...It was made with another 3D image that I had cut out a long time ago...and finally managed to get it on a card.  My sentiment was cut out with a die from Alery Elle...

Just some thoughts from today.

A few months back I had stopped making cards for a while.  I have enjoyed making cards for about 15 or more years now.  So it was one of my longest breaks for crafting.  I was thinking of stopping all together... convincing myself, that maybe making cards these days isn't that important anymore...

Today totally changed my mind!  I received a card in the mail from a dear friend that had been my very first co worker when we were both about 17 years old.  (that was a few years ago...NOT!)  My friend and I have shared so much ...good times...and some some sad times.  I was her maid of honor, and we attended each others childrens' weddings, etc. Shared so much through the years.

The card she sent me, was not home made, because she doesn't make cards.  (although, I have managed to get her to come to a card party at my house once and a while).

She wrote in the card that she purchased... when she saw the card she thought of me, and then wrote me a long note in the card.  It took me several tissues to read through the note.  She mainly shared about our friendship and what it meant to her..

I'm thinking to myself..."And I was beginning to think a few months ago that cards weren't that important?  I was so wrong!  She has encouraged me now more than ever to keep making cards.

Sorry that was so long...Just wanted to share.

Blessings,

Jill

White Rose 3D card

Still working on (finishing) my (long time) unfinished cards.  Another 3d image my white rose flower.

stamped the SU doily stamp and then heat embossed it in black.  I noticed that

a small section, didn't emboss...I purposely left that way too make it look

more antique looking (that's my story and I'm sticking to it...smile)

added lace and a bow.

3D Flower Cards

The 3D flowers on these two cards were made ages ago.  I'm so happy that I finally managed to get them on a card base and made them into completed cards.  Since it's been a while I don't know where the 3D sheets came from that I used, so I can't give the credit to them.  I know that usually they say on the sheet for personal use only....Since I don't sell my cards...I guess I don't have to worry much about who to give credit for the sheets.  (But I am so grateful to the people who had shared them).

As I said in my post yesterday, I have a lot of incomplete projects in my craft room.  My goal right now is to finally try and get some those projects done.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...

made this card using an old 3d image I had made ages ago.  Not sure where I found the image sheet to make the flower...
But I thought it would work on this card where I used a lovely die that was given to me as a gift...
thank you Em for your thoughtfulness.

Hubby's birthday card

I made a quick card for hubby's birthday!  It's a 3d card.  I made it using a 3d (Tole) sheet I purchased at craft store.  I made the plaid background using a stamp from Sweet'NSassy Stamps.

When My husband pulled the card out of the envelope he said!  "Oh a Jaguar!"  I had no idea what kind of card that was...   I told him to tell everyone if they asked what I gave him for his birthday is to say a Jaguar car!!!!

3d card

I made this card for my dear crafting buddy, Kathi...
It's a 3d card.  This is one of the techniques that I started me card making.  When I was on the Circle of Crafters forum (Now, it's sadly closed)  This was one of the most popular techniques.  A lot of people would share 3d sheets that you print.  The one thing with the sheets is that it required a lot of fussy cutting.  Fortunately, it's one thing that I like to do.  However, this card above was made with a sheet that I purchased at a craft store.  One of the advantages of this craft sheet is that I did NOT have to fussy cut.  Just pop the pieces out of the sheet and layer them with dimensionals in between the layers.  Obviously, my friend Kathi has cats...smile.

Cards made on a snowy day

I made these cards yesterday, while I was  sitting at my dining room table.  I was also looking out my window, watching all that white "stuff" falling out of the sky.  A perfect day for making cards.

I've been trying to straighten out my craft room...(an endless job) and in the process of doing that, I found a bunch of uncut tole sheets that I forgotten that I had...   Tole (and Iris folding) was one of the first techniques I used when I first started making cards!  I like to fussy cut, so I always enjoyed making cards using that technique.  The cards usually turn out being a bit thicker than I would like them to be... since I'm trying to cut down on postage costs I don't make as many of these anymore.

Made with inspiration from my magazine

More cards for my Stash!  Again I used some ideas from my Magazine "Cardmaking and Papercrafts"  The background paper came from a pack of paper that came with the magazine.  On some of the cards I used stickers made by KaiserCraft!  The snowman was made using a 3D sheet, and I also used some spellbinder dies and embossing folders!
