Some flower soft cards...

I have a dear friend who has a birthday coming up soon.  Every time I make her a card it has to have a butterfly on it somewhere and I try to use a technique  for her card that I have not done for her before.  I have made her rubber stamped cards, tea bag folded cards, Iris folding cards,  cards using a stencil, etc.  In trying to think of something different ...I realized that I had not made a card for her using flower soft.  Since it's been a while since I tried using flower soft...I feel like it was a brand new technique for me.  I need to make more so I have more practice...especially since a neighbor asked me to help her make some cards and she wanted to learn how to use flower soft.  I purchased most of my supplies...card toppers, etc...at Our daily Bread Designs...

My House Mouse card was a Christmas card I received from Carol,  an On line friend from Split Coast Stampers...Carol has a blog...

Thank you, Carol, for your cute card!  I'm a big fan of House Mouse images...

I noticed that some of my blogging friends give their new followers a shout out...and I would like to do that for three of my newest followers...

First    there's Angela... Her blog with her beautiful cards can be found here...

I first Noticed Angela's cards at Split Coast Stampers...She makes very elegant cards...

Second  There's Teresa...  Teresa's blog can be found here...
http://craftingalldayscards.blogspot.co.uk/

Teresa makes so many beautiful cards and Journal pages on her blog...
I especially like her criss-cross cards...they are on my to do list for 2014...I want to learn how to do that card technique....You will be in for a treat...

Third is Jim.  Jim's blog can be found here  (Jim is brand new to blogging)

Some of the things that Jim posts on his blog may look familiar to you...
because they are cards that were originally posted on my blog...(some from a long time ago.)
But I only made the card...Jim  (who is also Known as my hubby...smile)
is the one who colored my images.

If you don't guess this by looking at his blog...Jim is addicted to using copics...
and I have to admit he is very creative...

My husband not only colors very well, in the past he has done, cross stitch, needlepoint,
crewel, sewed his own suit...and took half the roof off of our house and added a dormer...
Just to name a few things...

I now think he is also addicted to blogging...so you may see lots of posts there on his blog...

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Blessings,
Jill

If nothing ever changed,
there'd be no butterflies.

More Christmas cards that I made

My husband colored the Holly image with copics for me
This is card cover that I  purchased from ODBD to use Flower soft on...

The card below, my Husband colored the image with copics for me...
I sent out over 60 Christmas cards that I hand made...and I did NOT make enough.  I was still trying to make more and get them in the mail.  But I think I'm finished making Christmas cards.  (for now anyway)  I'm a very slow card maker,   I think now I will try and figure out some New Year's cards to make to finish out my list.  Next year I plan to start earlier,  (I say that every year)

Have a Happy Jolee Christmas

This is the card I gave today to my hair dresser.  The chair is a Jolee sticker.  I tried to duplicate her (my hairdressers) beauty shop as closely as I could.  Her dark brown floor was made with a cuttlebug embossing folder (Distressed stripes)  The tree is a branch (or fern stamp) stamped several times.  The tree stand was made using a spellbinder folder, The rug from an oval punch, the mirror also punched with a spellbinder die, and covered with aluminum foil.  The garland made with a sticker covered with flower soft.  Decorated the tree with snowflake buttons,  pearls and miniature light bulbs. (and a Jolee comb sticker)

Thank you for your words of comfort in regard to loss of my Uncle.

Blessings,
Jill

Flower soft cottage

My flower soft card
I made another flower soft card. You have probably realized by now that I like using flower soft..I think it's easy to use, and the Flower soft card toppers make it even easier to make a card. What's not to like about that? LOL. Hope you like my card too.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, I am. I spent my day yesterday painting, not always my favorite thing to do, but as I said before....I like the way everything looks after you are done, Paint always makes things look newer and cleaner. The problem is I have so much more to do. (Keeps me out of trouble...but it also takes time away from something I enjoy doing...making cards...) I finished painting my hall closet, so now I have to paint the hallway.

My day started out so nice. I starting reading my email and soon realized that my above card was selected for the favorites thread at one of my favorite web sites...Split Coast Stampers. My card was selected for both the General favorites thread, and the CAS thread. First time for the CAS (Clean and Simple) thread. It also means I have earned a new badge for my blog. I was thrilled.

Another flower soft card...

Finally made another card...after a couple of my cards ended up in file 13...
I managed to make this one...
It's made with a card topper from Our daily bread designs where I purchased most of my flower soft supplies...
I used Stampin' Up paper for part of card, and used a cuttlebug embossing folder (distressed stripes for the bottom of my card) added dimensionals, lace and ribbon.

Windows

I entered the top card into the Ways to use it challenge at Split Coast Stampers. (WT380) I started making another card with a door, but had to put it aside for now...just wasn't working out for me, so I again, pulled out my flower soft supplies, and tried these cards instead. I love windows, and light...
My card toppers came from Our Daily Bread designs,
used Flower soft and some Stampin' Up Dimenstionals, and Design paper
Hope everyone is having a good day, the weather is beautiful today where I live...
I opened many windows today...

Take Time to Enjoy the Simple Things of Life

I bought the Flower Soft, Scenic Windows kit last Summer at a Stamp convention and I am finally getting around to making a card with it. This is from a 3D sheet from Flower soft to make a card front, 3D cards is what I first made when I started making cards about 6 years ago, and I have to admit, it's still one of my favorite card techniques. Yes, It's sometimes a lot of fussy cutting, but I don't mind that.

My first flower soft card...

I purchased this bicycle card topper at ODBD..(Our Daily Bread Designs) so I could finally give Flower Soft a try.  Many years ago A friend sent me some Flower soft,  shows you what a coward I am to try new things...LOL. Connie whose blog can be found here  Kindly sent me a RAK, with some Flower soft in the package.  This is the first time I used it.  Sorry, Connie...better late than never I hope.  I notice that Connie has not been able to post on her blog for a long time.  Her beautiful cards are still there...and I know that from time to time she does visit blogs, so Connie, I hope you get to see this...
Hope everyone is having a good week.  Blessings, Jill
