Strange Anniversary Card

The first card that I posted is for my hubby for our Anniversary.  I know very strange card to give to a hubby...but Jim knows that as a child my favorite book was Cinderella, my favorite Walt Disney Movie was Cinderella, and even after my daughter was married she bought me the DVD of Cinderella...she said it was for me to watch with my granddaughter...smile.

I want to thank everyone for the nice Anniversary wishes...It has been a very special time for us...I can't believe so many years have flown by.

and I was a teenage bride...I only feel like I'm a 100 years old...smile

We were so honored by our two crafty friends having a special Anniversary dinner for us...Now
another friend wants to have one for us.

She called and told me she is making a special gift for us...but she needed my help.  She wanted a wedding photo of us.  Well, that's a problem we don't have one.  (I think she is making a shadow box...just a guess...at least that what it sounded like...)

We eloped so we don't have a wedding photo.  I have to be honest, and tell you that is the biggest regret of my life.  (not the eloping part...not having a photo...LOL)   It is the one thing that I wish I could go back and do over.  Just have a photo of our wedding day.

So because of that request....I have spent a good part of the day looking at old photos.  (getting more depressed by the moment)---(because some of them are in those old magnetic photo albums)
anyone remember those?  The problem with those are that they are NOT acid free, and I can see that some of photos are getting ruined...so I think instead of card making for a while.  I will have start working on old photo albums instead.  But I will probably have to still do a card once in while...It's my therapy...LOL...

I'm a very fortunate lady...

 My two weekly crafting buddies...surprised hubby and I with making us a very special dinner for our Anniversary.  They went all out...pretty tablecloth on the table (my favorite color Pink)  Lit candles and Cherie used her best dishes...we had what seemed like a $100.00 a plate dinner.  She made us appetizers, home made soup., our entree, and dessert.

 They made place cards, and special keepsake napkin rings, and presented me with flowers.  (because I didn't have any on my wedding day.  They were my favorite flower...pink roses.

 The gift that they made for us, was an explosion box.  This is the outside of the box.

And this is the inside of the box, (My pictures aren't the best and does not do this justice!)  They told me that it took them about two weeks to make this.  I definitely believe them, so many neat details, with the rose arbor and all the pockets, with tags to put photos and journaling on.  I believe it was made with all Stampin' Up supplies.

Quick card

Super quick card! I feel like I cheated!  I used a Jolee's sticker that I purchased on Sale.  I am late with this card, and the first card I tried to make....ended up in the trash.  I didn't want to be any later with this card then I already am...so I wanted to make a quick one.

Somebody Squealed

I haven't had much time to make a card...so I'm posting one I made a few week's ago and haven't posted yet.  And Yet again,  It was so many years ago that I found the image, I don't remember where I found it from. (This card will be used for personal use only)

I mounted my 3d image on Stampin' Up designer paper...

Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast stampers

I made this card for this week's Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast...Sylvia wanted us to make a card using Water Coloring.  I cheated...I used another image that was colored by my husband.  He colored this image with copics.

I heat embossed my sentiment with embossing powder

I added a cuttlebugged embossed background  (Birds and Swirls)

Queen for the day challenge at Split Coast...

I'm kind of late in making this card...this is a card I made for one of the Queen for the day challenges.  During the summer, At Split Coast The weekly challenges  have been  to honor pass Queens for the day.  I had the privilege of being named Queen for the day with QFTD165   IN the Queen for the day challenge QFTD175  Liz, (known as Lazy Lizard at Split Coast...re honored me with casing one of my cards.  So I now want to return the honor by casing one of Liz's card.

I thought it was so clever how she used the doily stamp to make a wreath.  I really like the doily stamp but haven't used it much.  So I was happy to see another way to use it.

The Sea

My hubby finally used the Christmas present I gave him.  For Christmas I gave him the beginner kit Air compressor for Copic Markers.  He used it to make the sky in the card above.  I think he really did a nice job with the sky using it.  I hope he gets it out again....(and then shows me how to use it...LOL)  

I used a clear stamp from Sweet N Sassy Stamps for my stamp image,  Which Jim colored for me with copics...added a sentiment also from SweetNSassy stamps, and my hand cut banners, some brads.

This week's twisted Sister challenge...

The twisted sister challenge this week at Split Coast is to  make a card with a school theme...
Lots of choices...school colors, school mascots, school items,   Anything related to school.
I found this OLD 3d sheet (dated 2006 on it) and I thought this could work for a school theme.
the rulers at the bottom are from a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper and so are the letters cut from a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper.  The typewriter keys might fit better when I went back to school and actually used a type writer....Not a computer keyboard like the school kids use today.

This challenge is timely because I wanted to make a card to send to my grandson who just left
to go back to school today.  (and I missed him stopping by to say goodbye before he left to go back to school)  Grand mom was at the dentist when he came by...I will get to see him again in October...

I used my spellbinder ornament die, embossed with a cuttlebug folder. a Penny Black background stamp to stamp my background, which I heat embossed with white embossing powder.  My Sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampin' Up, with SU ink, and cut out with a Spellbinder die. Added a ribbon and brads.

My second favorite flower is...

An Iris...

This card seemed to take me forever today.  I think I am starting to burn out with my card making. I also have two cards before this one...that ended up in the trash.  I also started out with a totally different card in mind...and ended up with this.  Does that happen to you too?
This is my very favorite card fold.  Center step card.

My husband colored the flowers with copics for me, and the background paper is from Stampin' Up.  I added peel off stickers, paper lace border made with a Die-namics die. (Dainty Lacd Border) Cuttlebugged the background behind the flowers with a Swiss dots embossing folder, added a ribbon and stick on beads.

more lady cards/ I need a caption for card

I need a caption for the card below...

I made 3 more 3d cards...and again, since I printed out the 3d sheets so long ago...I'm not sure where the images are from...and because of that I will be using all of these cards for my own personal use.
I don't really sell my cards anyway.  Most 3d sheets came with "personal use only" on them, and I want to assure anyone who might come on this site and spot their images that I will only be using these cards for personal use only.

I had one person say in a comment to me...they didn't know what a 3d sheet is...
Hard for me to explain, and I can't really post one here...because they are copy righted to the person who makes them.  You can purchase some through Paper Wishes web site, and Lilac garden.  The ones that I have purchased through Paper Wishes usually come that they are ready to punch out and put together.  Just have to layer them with pop dots, glue etc.  All of the above cards that I made and most of the previous ones I had to all fussy cut out...  I really like the dimensional look, but it usually costs more postage to send them.

In regard to my third card that I posted...I need a caption.  I could probably say...something like...So you think you're the only one having a bad hair day!

Any ideas?  I'm sure you are all better at that than I am...

Ladies day

These cards were made with 3d sheets (I printed a long time ago...think you have heard that before)  I am just so glad that I have been able to finally use up some things that I have had for a long time.  I think my craft room will become more usable again, when I finally do finish going through my old stuff.  If looks a bit trashed right now from all the cards I have been making these last few weeks.

There is a method to my madness..For one thing, I still can't believe how the creative bug has hit me this past month.  I have never made so many cards in such a short time before.  So I have been going with the flow.  The dust in my house can wait...(just don't tell my hubby I said that!  smile)
Also, next week week is my Mother's birthday date.  My mother had asked me to take a box of my cards to the cancer center for the staff as a thank you for the good care that they had given to her.  Yes, I know that is their job, but they all seemed to go the extra mile...if you know what I mean.
Well, I am usually a very slow card maker, so it took me two years to drop off a whole box of cards that I made.  I did that last year on what would have been my mother's birthday.  It was a difficult day for me to walk into the cancer center again.  I was so glad I did that...Not only did I keep my promise to my Mother...it also really helped me to get through that day.  This year I plan on doing the same thing.  So I needed to make a whole bunch of cards to fill another box.

Card In Black and White...

I'm still continuing my Challenge to use up some of my sticker stash.  My Sympathy card (Which, thankfully, I don't have an immediate need for right now)  has a rub on sticker for the sentiment (MSE!  My Sentiments Exactly) and the sunflowers are a jolee Sticker.  My background has a die cut frame borrowed from a friend...not sure of the name of the die)  and my vine is cut from a Cheerylyn designs die (fanciful Flourish)
My flip flop card...the flip flops are a jolee sticker, and I used peel off stickers for make a frame around the edge.  My sentiment is Computer generated.

Time To...

I must be honest and tell you that these cards were not my idea...I saw them in Paper Crafts magazine, and I knew I wanted to case them.  I tried to make some changes...so it wouldn't be an exact copy.  As soon as I saw the card ideas I knew exactly who I wanted to make the cards for.

The first card was made using a 3d image from a 3d sheet from Paper Wishes .  The 3d sheet was a gift to me from my friend Cherie.  I used some stickers on both cards...(my sticker stash is going down so slowly).  I think it would take me 20 years (crafting everyday) to use up my stash.

If dogs could talk...

This card was made using a 3d sheet from Nikky...
I did use some stickers on this card...my peel off stickers that I used as a frame...I mounted
the "puppy" on a background made with an embossing folder from stamping up...(Lattice)
I stamped the sentiment...(can't remember which stamp I used).  I know the sentiment seems like a contradiction, but for some reason for me it worked.  I could picture me giving this card to a man for his birthday with the inside reading....Smile...it's your birthday!

More Penny Black Sticker cards

All of the above cards were made using Penny Black stickers.

  My first card Uses the sticker as the focal point, and Stampin' Up Designer paper for my background with a Martha Stewart punched border, and I added a ribbon.

The second card with the sticker again as a focal point, has an embossed background done with using a Stampin' Up embossing folder...(fancy fan) I added  stick on butterfly, a row of lace, and the sentiment Oval was cut out using spellbinder dies (Classic Scalloped Ovals large, and Classic Ovals large) The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampin' Up (Elementary Elegance) and stamped with Stampin' Up  (Marina Mist)  My bookmark is also a Penny Black sticker.

My third card uses a Penny Black sticker for the focal point, and an added sticker for the word Hi (unknown) my background was made using a friends die, and I added a stick on butterfly.

I made this card using another sticker from my sticker box.  I added a die cut from Heartfelt Creations on the top of my card (Decorative Lace Border) and stamped my sentiment with a stamp From Northwoods Rubber stamps, and used Stampin' up Ink...

Christmas in August

I'll probably sound like a broken record to anyone who had visited my blog before...but this is continuing my wish to use up stuff I have on hand.  Last month it was unused 3d sheets to make cards, this month I want to try and make cards using up stickers that have been sitting in my sticker box what seems like forever.

So these two cards were mainly made with stickers.  I used Stampin' Up designer paper for the background.and stickers from Royalbrush...(rub ons)  and added some peel off stickers.

Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.

No prizes for this challenge.  Just lots of fun and inspiration.  The key words for this challenge is TSC0802

It was my turn to give the challenge for this week and this is my challenge.

For the challenge Use a stamp you haven't used before...but it must be an OLD one...not a brand new one...OR, use Designer paper, embellishments, etc. that you have been hoarding for a long time... In other words...use something OLD on your card...to help clean out your craft room and keep you from shopping... Just tell us in the description what OLD product or products you are now dusting off to use.

I used several OLD things on my card.  The stamp set I used, which is probably the very first stamp set I ever purchased, is called "Garden Silhouettes"  The stamp set is from 2007, but I probably didn't start stamping with it till a few years later...because I know I have only been stamping for about 5 years now.  Anyone else do that,  Go to a stamp show buy stamps and then not use the stamps or as in my case,  Not use the stamps for years?

If you have been following my blog, you know that I have challenged myself to use OLD stuff.

Last month, I used a lot of the 3d sheets that I printed from years ago and never used.  I used a lot of those and still have more to go.  This month, I want to start using stickers that I have collected through the years and are still sitting unused in a big box in my craft room.  It's the fault of those 40 and 50 perfect off stickers sales...smile.

My card not only uses an Old stamp but a sticker I purchased years ago.  It's a pretty sticker sheet with lots of flowers on it, but I wasn't sure how to use it.  Since it's a Penny Black Sticker sheet I decided to go on the Penny Black Website to see if they gave any ideas on how to use them.

I found a great video tutorial on ideas to use their stickers...

I backed my sticker with card stock as they suggested in the video, and I also sponged my background.  Great idea...I was trying to find a background to match my sticker and was unable to find one so my sticker sheet just sat unused.  (I used Tim Holtz distress Inks) On my background I also used Versamark to stamp my stampin' Up Stamp "Garden Silhouettes" and then I heat embossed the flowers with white embossing powder.  I also added a very OLD ribbon from my stash.
