Pocket card

I was so behind in making cards.  So I decided to try and make some quick cards to send out.

I enjoy making these cards. It's mainly card folding.  When Your card is done you have a pocket inside the card where you can insert a gift card, picture, money, etc.  I made 9 of these and since I couldn't put a gift card in every one.  I put a post card inside with my Christmas greeting and told the people that I sent them to...That they could reuse the card as a gift card or money holder.

I hope everyone reading this had a Very Merry Christmas...Filled with many Blessings.

Music

I stamped this image a while ago.  I think it came out of one my purchased craft magazines.  I colored the image with copics.  I made this for a challenge at Split Coast stampers for the Twisted sister Challenge.

This will not be the Christmas I had hoped for...  Since I got really sick with a virus a few weeks ago.  It really put me behind with every thing,  and my Vertigo returning after 5 years of thinking It was cured and wouldn't have to worry about it again.  Well, so much for that.  I keep reminding myself that things could be much worse.  I am so fortunate with the one fall that I had...well that could have had much worse results too.  (I fell backwards on a hard surface.   So scary.   Hopefully, it will get better now that I managed to get appointments set up with a physical therapist.

I managed to get about half my cards in the mail...Hope to complete the rest with New Year's cards, etc.  The problem Is that I was trying to get them done as quickly as a could.  (I am a slow crafter.  I forgot to take pictures of most of my cards before I put them in the mail.

I hope everyone reading this page...has a very special, blessed Christmas with friends and family and good health.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

More cards that I received

Some more Christmas cards that I received this year...  The first one is from Darnell.

Darnell's blog can be found here...https://www.djkardkreations.com/

I had to ask her how she made this card.  I want to try and do something like this.  I know that mine wouldn't turn out as nice as hers.  ....but I want to try the technique.  I know she used an embossing folder, and I like the  vellum accross the card for the sentiment.  Thank you Darnell, Your beautiful cards always bring a smile to my face when I see them in my mailbox.

I received the above card from my half sister.  She does not make cards.  I was surprised when I saw this card because I could tell right away that it was hand made.  I got excited I thought maybe she started making cards...NO.   Someone else made it.  I think she sent this one because she knows how much I like home made cards.  I have to admit...that even though I cherish every card I get in my mailbox...   the home made ones are always without a doubt my favorite.  I also sent her a Tree card in return.

Two more quick cards

Two more quick cards make with one of my card making magazines...
Cardmaking and Papercraft issue 162

What I like most about making these cards besides the fact that they were quick ot make!
Was the fold that I used...I used this tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers site

I really like this tutorial.  I like to make square cards, or I guess I should say I like the look of square cards but I don't make them too often, because of the extra postage.  This card fold makes it easy to make a square card and not have to worry about the postage.

My Images are colored images that came out of the magazine.  I just added some ribbon.

More Brightly gleaming cards

I'm pretty sure anyone looking at my blog on a regular basis (Thank you so much for looking )  Might be tired of seeing all the cards I post using this designer paper.  As I said before, I'm trying to use it all up and I am definitely coming to an end to this Stampin' Up paper.  I honestly think that it is one of my favorite designer paper sets that I have purchased from Stampin' Up.  I purchased the paper last year and made some cards last year and now this year.  I think I may have made way over  50 cards using it.

The card above was so difficult to take a picture.  I always struggle when I used reflective paper.  When this happens I sometime to outside to take a pic.  It was raining yesterday so that was not an option.

Besides using my favorite designer paper for this card...I used a Spellbinder die for the window.  The die is called stained glass.  I used vellum for the background of the window die and fussy cute some paper for the windows and used another die for the candles in the window (Daily bread designs die)

Today, I can finally start to address cards.

still working on my Christmas cards

I'm still working on my Christmas cards, and I'm still trying to use up my Stampin' Up Brightly gleaming Christmas paper.  I'm getting closer to the end of it.

I hope to start addressing some of my cards tomorrow.  I keep remembering that last year at this time...I not only had all my cards done, they were addressed and most of them in the mail.  (I think that is what makes me fee so far behind)

Twofer Challenge Stars

These two  cards are for this month's Twofer Challenge.

I made two Christmas cards.

My first card was made using a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers which can be found here...

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/stitcheddiestringart/

The Twofer Challenge can be found here...

https://twofercardchallenge.blogspot.com/2020/11/twofer-card-challenge-33-stars.html

My die that I used for my stars came from Stampin' Up (Stitched Stars Dies...

I found out how rusty I am when I went to stitch the star for this card.  The Split Coast Tutorial gives great instructions...  But I still stuggled with the stitching.  You would think after many years/ and hours I spent stitching cross-stitch projects/ embroidery projects, etc.  It would have been easy for me, NOT!

Jill

PS.  I knew I woud make a mistake with this post...I put two of the same individual cards.  I deleted the one not sure how to put the second one back in this post.  Didn't want to mess  up the whole post.  But you can see the second card in the first picture.

Christmas cards

I made all of the above cards using some free goodies that came with another Card making magazine.
Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine...Issue #188

It really did NOT feel like Christmas weather in our area these last few days, so I was hoping making Christmas cards would make me feel cooler.

More Side step Cards

I'm still trying to add to my stash for next years Christmas cards.   And...as you can see...I'm still enjoying making side step cards.  My images are from Paper wishes.  My sentiments are made from rub ons.

The fact that it is snowing today makes me feel more like making Christmas cards.

More Christmas cards using oxide ink

I have the link for the tutorial that I used for these cards in my previous post.  These were fun to make and I want to try this technique again...making something other than Christmas cards...  I added a sentiment to all of my cards before I mailed them out.  I just realized that I forgot to retake the pics.

Besides using ranger's oxide ink...I used dies from Impression Obsession, Penny Black, and Memory Box for the frames...

Christmas cards using Oxide Ink

Click on cards to enlarge

I made these cards using Ranger's distress Oxide ink,
for my background.
and used a tutorial by Jennifer Mcquire...
which can be found here...

My church dies were from Cottage Cutz, and my star die cuts are from SweetNSassy.
And my frame dies were from Memory Box...

Snowy Day

Lots of snow today.  I may not be crazy about snow!  (Don't like the Cold that comes with it...or having to shovel it...smile).   The one thing that snow days are good for...
Crafting!

Again, using my Hunkydory Card kit.  I made a Center fold card, and a side fold card...
Almost done with my cards.  Yes, I think using a kit is kind of cheating...but I knew that it
was probably the only way I would get my cards done this year.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
