I Love books

I love to read.  I have to be grateful  to my Mother for that...
She seemed to always have a book in her hand.
Every Christmas I could count on finding books under the Christmas tree for me.  She also joined a Children's book club for me.  I so looked forward each month to see what book they were sending to me.
Books like, Black Beauty, The Secret Garden, Little Women, etc.

I have mentioned before that I'm a member of Good reads...where I can log my books, and try to meet a challenge each year.  I Challenged myself to read 50 books this year...
AND I MET MY CHALLENGE...  The above book was book number 50.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Thank you for stopping by my blog.

bookmark

This doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment to do a bookmark!

Bur to me it was,  I've been having a difficult time making anything these days...so I'm just happy when I have a small break through.

I made this bookmark using a tutorial from Splitcoast stampers... You can find the link here.

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/cornerbookmark/

This was the first challenge that I did for the year for the twisted Sister group.  (Yes. I certainly belong in that group...smile)

The above medal was a Christmas present from my husband.   I think it's the first medal that I have ever received.  And Yes, I am a bookworm.  I had made the comment to him a while back that in the 6 years since I started writing down the titles of all the books I have read... It was over 500 books.

Since He gave me this for Christmas I recounted and at the end of this year My total is now  600 books.  Not all the books I read are like 400 pages...some are kind of short.

The book I am reading at the present time Is "Winter Garden" by Kristin Hannah. (This book is 394 pages)

My Favorite Author is Irene Hannon.

I'm a member of Good Reads.  That's where I log the books that I read.

Thank You for visiting my blog tody..

Every Chapter

I made this card by paper piecing the images...

I stamped this image and then gave it to my hubby to color for me. He colored it with copics. I definitely like the way he did his card better than mine.  I'm going to be a copy cat and color some more of this image using his for inspiration.  All I had to do with this card ...is stamp the image, and thenn put it on a card base.

My two favorite things to do is...

1. Making greeting cards.  (no surprise there)

2. Reading

I'm doing a disclaimer here...I am in no way getting anything for suggesting  this book (s)

This is one of my favorite authors...Irene Hannon.

The above series is, Christian fiction, Light Romance

I have read this series 2 times now...So far there is 7 books...Book Number 8 is coming out in April.  (and you know I will be buying it.)

The series is called Hope Harbor.   I like them so much because they live up to the series name...so Up lifting...   That's why I enjoyed them so much.  This author also writes Mystery/suspense books.

Thank you for visiting my blog today,

The Domino Effect...

The domino effect... chain reaction that occurs when a small change causes a similar change nearby...etc...etc...

From time to time, I get asked the question....What made you get interested in rubber stamping?

Well, the answer to that question is probably...The book I have posted above..."A good Yarn"

Okay, Now I have you confused, How did a fiction book about knitting, get me to start rubber stamping?

I guess you can  blame it on the domino effect.

I read the above book by Debbie Macomber    Here is her website...

"A Good Yarn" is the second book in her Blossom Street Series...

The book tells about a girl who dreamed of owning a yarn store, and after if opened she decided to give classes on learning how to knit.  In her books the people who come to the classes not only learn how to knit, but end of making some nice friendships through the classes...

It made me want to find some knitting classes...

Years ago, I attended some knitting classes at our local high school, after a very dear friend signed us both up for the classes.  We really enjoyed those classes, and my friend was really a good sport about it, because soon after we started going to the classes...We both realized that my friend knew more about knitting than the instructor teaching the classes did.  My friend liked the friendship and enjoyed knitting so she continued to go.  She really did help me to learn to do "basic" knitting, and I actually knitted some sweaters.  (Don't think I could do that now without some refresher courses)

I lost my dear friend to cancer in 1997, and that's when I put the knitting needles away.

but I realized recently that my friend would have wanted me to keep on knitting, so I wanted to try again.

But,
I never found knitting classes!  I still had the desire to attend some kind of crafting classes, and after joining split coast Stampers...I found a friend there that gave me her Stampin' Up demo's name.  I called her Demo and started attending her Stamping classes, and the rest is history as they say...because with those classes, I also met some new "stamping" friends.

Not too long ago, I again picked up the beginning books of the above series and started rereading them and it inspired me to get out my yarn and crochet hook, and finish a project that I had started ages ago.  The scarf that I have posted above.    If my scarf in the picture looks worn, Yes is has been! I finished  it because it's been so cold outside and the scarf  really came in handy.

For the knitters reading this post...
If you go to The Debbie Macomber website you will find that she has some free knitting patterns on her website that you can print out ...
