House With Porch

This is an older stamp I have, and it was always a favorite.

I probably have it on blog before but those times my hubby colored the stamp. I know he did a better job coloring  it that I have...but he keeps telling me the only way I'll learn is to keep trying.  This was colored with copics.  The stamp is from Impression Obsession.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

This is  a card I made for my nephew's birthday!

I used dies and an embossing folder from a magazine that I had "Simply Cards and papercrafts.  My dog die is from Impression Obsession. i colored my lamp die with copics.

added a brad for the doorknob, a tree sticker, and used paper from Su for the wood look (Wood Textures) I fussy cut some of the extra wood off to the side of the house.

Card for my new neighbors

We have new neighbors...just got to meet them this week.  And, so far, I must say I like them very much.  I wanted to make them a House card and have it say...

"Welcome to the neighborhood....Instead I decided to make it into a possible Christmas card fot them to use.  The doggies on the corner represent their two dogs.

At first I didn't like their barking which sometimes wakes me up in the morning...

but since I got to pet them and give them treats.  They have grown on me.

Paper Blooms Bridge card

My card was made using Paper Blooms Designer paper from Stampin' Up, and  The Pierced Blooms dies for the leaves in the background, and the fence was made out of a die by Impression Obsession.
I think this is a Bridge fold... sometimes called a Ufold card too?

CCEE2050 Reflect the light of Hope

I made this card for the CC Stampers challenge.   CCEE2050 which can be found here

https://cceestampers.blogspot.com/2020/12/ccee2050-glow-of-christmas.html

The challenge is to use something on your card that would relfect the light of hope.

I really struggled with this card.  I knew there was  something I didn't like about it after working too many hours on it ....I gave up.  I fianally realized what I didn't like about the card.

I have problem with depth perception when it comes to drawing or art.

My side walk in front of the house makes it look like the house is sitting on half of a foundation.

My hubby said that later he'll help me see if we can't add some extra strips of paper going down the front of the house to make it look like steps.  Hopefully it will work.  I guess this is how you learn...

My card was made using dies from Impression Obsession, (House die, Lamp post,  and tree die. Snow die was from Elizabeth Craft, I used momento ink for my sentiment which came from the Simply Cards magazine, And I used an embossing folding from Cuttlebug...added a ribbon, brad, and some stickles

I also realized after I made my last post ....that I spoke too soon...I said that I had all my Christmas cards done and in the mail.  I should have known it would happen.  The very next day I received a card from someone I forgot to put on my list...followed by a second person the day after that.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Sparkly Christmas Card

My spakly Christmas card...Had me sparkly too.

My hubby kind of groans when he sees me using glitter.  Somehow I not only get it on my card, and get it on me, and all over the house.   My ornament was made using an Elizabeth Craft Peel off sitcker. covered with white glitter.  My branch was cut from a die cut by Impression Obsession,  added a twine bow.

TLC Carved wood Background

When I visited Splitcoast Stampers this morning...I really liked the cards using this weeks Technique.  The challenge is called The Carved wood technique.

This is the link at Split coast that showed the video on how to do it.

Hopefully that link works.  It was a video showing Gina K demonstrating the technique.  Really like her videos.  I have learned so much from them.

I entered this card at Split coast for this week's TLC challenge,
and I am going to enter this in this month's NBUS challene.

My NBUS item is the stencil that I used for my background.  I had forgotten that I even had that stencil.  I really enjoyed doing that technique and I KNOW I will trying it again.
It's easy!
And I like easy.
My stencil is from TCW,
I sponged my background with Memento ink and and then scored it with  my scorepal
I added a fence sticker which had been in my craft room for a long time.  And I also die cut a bird house which was a die from Impression Obssession.

New House Card

Click on pic to enlarge

My cousin and his wife are in the process of moving into their brand new house.
They invited Jim and I up to their place to see it before they moved in...
It's Just adorable, and we felt honored that they called us and asked if they could come and get us and take us to their brand new house.  They had just made settlement.  It was great sharing in their excitement .  I wanted to make a card for them for this big occasion.

My designer paper is unknown...(I just one small piece left of it with no name on it.  The die that I used for the house is from Impression Obsession.

I'm finding the bridge fold to be addictive!  I made this card using designer paper from Graphic 45, The dies that I used are from Heartfelt Creations, and Impression Obsession

I forgot to put a link to the bridge card tutorial at Split Coast Stampers...
https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/bridgefoldcard/
I made mine a bit different using a card that I found on Pinterest for my inspiration.

Bridge card

This is my first try at making a bridge card.  My card looks crooked but I beleive in real life it's straight.  I took a crooked picture of my card!  (sure isn't the first time that I have done that!)

I used a die from Impression Obsession for the trees.  My designer paper is from Kaisercraft.

More Christmas cards using oxide ink

I have the link for the tutorial that I used for these cards in my previous post.  These were fun to make and I want to try this technique again...making something other than Christmas cards...  I added a sentiment to all of my cards before I mailed them out.  I just realized that I forgot to retake the pics.

Besides using ranger's oxide ink...I used dies from Impression Obsession, Penny Black, and Memory Box for the frames...

Side Step Card

I found the instructions to make this side step card here...

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sidestepcard/

This is one of my favorite folds.  I have lost count as to how many cards I have made with this fold.

I again used my same "Hot of the press" designer paper (Charming)  One thing you may have figured out if you've seen any of my last eight cards.     Is that, I like to make cards using designer paper.
Considering how much designer paper I have left in my craft room.  I could probably make cards with it till about 2030?

I used three dies on this card all made by Impressions Obsession.  bench die 244-H,
Dog die 142-J
Tree die-084V.  I also added an embellishment from Graphic 45,  and some twine,

Twofer Challenge Hearts

The above card is the one I am entering into Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge...

You can find the link to the challenge here
https://twofercardchallenge.blogspot.com/

This Month's card challenge theme is "Hearts'

I hope my card counts because I used two different stamps to make my cards
but I did use BOTH stamps on both of my cards.

For my first card I used my Rubber stamp tapestry card to make a heart wreath...
except when I had done (after two tries)...my wreath did not look much like a heart.  smile
So, I cut out the wreath with a heart die by Daris. I added a small heart die in the center of my wreath using a stamp from SweetNSassy stamps.

For my second card I again used my rubber stamp tapestry stamps to make a vine hedge behind my park bench die (By Impression Obession rubber stamps)  I added two pillows on the bench stamped with my Sweet and Sassy heart die.  My sentiments are from SweetNSassy.

Thank you again, Darnell for this great challenge!

And thank you all for visiting my blog today
Blessings,
Jill

NBUS Challenge #9

BREATHE

The air taken into or expelled from the lungs.
The power of breathing; life

The above card was made for Darnell's NBus Challenge #9
The Link to the challenge can be found here

The Lovely, talented, Darnell gave some options for this challenge...one was to try to do a hidden word on our card.   Well, that option was a little beyond me...So instead I decided to just keep with the idea of making a word the focal point of my card.  I wasn't sure what word I should pick then my longtime crafting buddy, Cherie, sent me an email asking me if I had picked my word of the year yet?
Here it is one month into the new year and I still hadn't made a decision on even picking..."One Little Word."   So I went to Ali Edwards website to try and get some inspiration for my word.
You can find her website here

I looked over the list at the site and narrowed it down to five possible choices.   I like to always have something kind of make the word pop out for me, so it's kind of a confirmation that is the word that I should choose.

I have mentioned before that I have been sick with a really bad cough and cold...My head has been so stuffed up that this past Monday I literally could not breathe!  I had a frightening few seconds (felt longer) that I literally could not catch my breath...  It was early morning, and my hubby was not awake yet.  All I could think is that he will come into the living room and find me on the floor, and wonder..."What on earth happened?'  (sorry to sound so melodramatic)  but that actually happened to me.

That definitely confirmed my word.  Obviously, I'm still here!  After much difficulty and wheezing...I caught my breath.

I think there's a message here for me to slow down and take the time to breathe.

I found this quote at pinterest.  I hope it's all right to put it here. (I'm always so concerned about copyrights.  I tried just copying the link to post on my blog...but I could NOT figure out how to do it.  Blogging has showed me many times how little I know about computers...smile.

The quote is from the website of Lovepeacebeauty.com

"Give yourself permission to take the time to breath,
to live life, to give, to love, to reflect,
to be in the present and to Just Be."

...................

Before I forget,
 I made my card using
Designer paper by Thomas Kinkade
White cardstock
Gold mirror paper and Velum
Alphabet stamps by Martha Stewart
(My NBUS/Not been used before)

Brads
Versamark
Gold embossing powder
Fence die by Impression Obsession
I also used my Misti for stamping
and rounded my corners with
my Corner Chomper

Mother's day card for my daughter

All the Mothers that were in my life, are sadly no longer here...
I decided to make a Mother's day card for my daughter...

The cute dogie dies are from Impression Obsession Stamps.  The dies were a Christmas present to me from my crafting buddy, Kathi.  They are NBUS, because this is the first time that I have used them.  My daughter's dog, Trixie, is like my daughters's baby.  She's my grand puppy and I'm kind of crazy over her too.  So I'm going to make the inside of this card as if it's coming from Trixie
Here's a pic of Trixie in her raincoat.  I think she looks so adorable, but I don't think she feels the same way about the raincoat...smile.
A Mommy and Me pic taken a long time ago of me and my lovely daughter.  She doesn't look very happy in her pic either.  I use an over head light to take my pics so that's the reflection on her face.

"Daughters hold our hand for a little while but hold our hearts forever."

Merry Monday #190

I made this card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.  The link to the challenge can be found here
http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2016/02/merry-monday-190-santa.html

This weeks' challenge is to have a Santa on the card.  My Santa stamp is from Cloud 9 Design.  The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampin' Up (More Merry Messages)
I cut out my trees in felt using a die from Impression Obsession.  Added some ribbon and brads.

My hubby commented about my crooked tree.  I told him that I copied the tree that is next door to us.  It's a huge pine tree slanted the same way.  (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!)

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Blessings,
Jill

More Sunshine

One thing we have had a lot of lately is Sunshine (along with heat!)

I was trying to make some sunshine themed cards so I could have one to go along
with the Sunshine box I recently made...

One of my neighbors who used to come to craft night...has managed to come over to my house again for craft night.   I made up some sample cards for her to see if she wanted to try one.  She liked my sunshine card...So, I made up a kit for her to make this card when she comes over again to craft night.

My sunshine die and cloud die is from SweetNSassy,  Both my fence die and bird die are from Impression Obsession,

"May sunshine and loving thoughts carry you through your day!

The fun never stops

I made the above card for a special on line friend...many of you may already know her,

 Carol, of

Since, Carol, kindly told me that she received my card...I can now post it.

I have had the privilege of meeting Carol in real life, and seeing her beautiful work in real life.  Her cards look fantastic and creative on line, but, believe me, they are even more so, when you see them in real life.
The sentiment is (on the outside of the card)   The fun never stops...
and on the inside I put the fun never stops when you are crafting!  So true...

I said in one of my  posts how I was addicted to making these side steps cards  (I think I have made about 20 of them in just the last few weeks).  They are my Therapy...
Carol, responded in her comment that her hexagon cards are her Therapy...smile

so, You know, I had to send her one of my "therapy" cards!

I made the above card using images from paper wishes
and my border die is from Our Daily Bread Designs (Beautiful Borders)
the bird house is an Impression Obsession Die (DIE156-H)
and the fence is also an Impression obsession (DIE 034-U
Added stick on beads, and some ribbon

believes in your future and accepts you the way you are."
