Card for this week's Featured Stamper

I made this card to case this week's featured stamper at Split Coast Stampers.

I liked Jenny's card layout...It's one that I will definitely use again...

My card was made using Boo Bunny Designer paper.  I fussy cut out a flower from the designer paper.  I stamped my sentiment using a stamp from SweetNSassy.

I needed to make a sympathy card and I knew Jenny's layout would work for my card.
I also made a matching memory bracelet to go along with the card.

Hope Jenny enjoys her week as featured stamper.  I know that I did last week...I think I still feel like I'm 6 feet off the ground.

Okay, Carol, thank you for the nice comment on this card... and I tried to enlarge this picture so you could see it better..

I always thought that if people clicked on my photos they would get larger for them...am I wrong?

3d card

I made this card for my dear crafting buddy, Kathi...
It's a 3d card.  This is one of the techniques that I started me card making.  When I was on the Circle of Crafters forum (Now, it's sadly closed)  This was one of the most popular techniques.  A lot of people would share 3d sheets that you print.  The one thing with the sheets is that it required a lot of fussy cutting.  Fortunately, it's one thing that I like to do.  However, this card above was made with a sheet that I purchased at a craft store.  One of the advantages of this craft sheet is that I did NOT have to fussy cut.  Just pop the pieces out of the sheet and layer them with dimensionals in between the layers.  Obviously, my friend Kathi has cats...smile.

This is a spirelli card that I made for a friend.  I have a spirelli punch that I used to cut out my
spirelli circle to  wrap my  embroidery thread around.  I layered it on top of a spellbinder's die  "Beaded Circles" added a brad and a ribbon.  My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous!

Stained Glass Technique

Anniversary card for my neighbors.  It's not the greatest pic...but I already given them the card so I can't take another picture.  I made this card using the Stained glass technique.  I had made a card using that technique a few weeks ago and posted the card at Split Coast Stampers...until I posted my card there...   I didn't realize the name for this technique...  So here is the directions for making a stained glass card.

Made this at my class yesterday

I made this necklace at a beading class yesterday.  This was my very first beading class.
I really enjoyed myself.  It was held at a big box store, by an instructor who told us it was her very first class.  If she hadn't told us that....we would have never known.  She was really 
good, and I learned a lot.  She didn't seem to mind answering my million questions...smile.
If you're reading this Cynthia...Every word is true...(she might be reading this post because I gave her the link to my blog...smile.)

I have made one other necklace from a beading kit...and my Thursday night buddies helped me with making it.  ( With Cindy's instructions...I did make more of this by
myself).  Thank you Cindy...It was a fun class, and I am signing up for me...

Iris folding card

 The above card was made using a free pattern that I had found at the card forum "Circle of Crafters"  sadly that forum no longer exists.  I was on that forum for a number of years and that is where I learned how to do Iris Folding, Tea bag folding, and 3D cards.  
Those are the card techniques that I used when I first started making cards.  I still enjoy all those techniques...but don't use them as much anymore.

I used the last of the scrapbook designer paper that I purchased at Paper wishes  (the Hot of the press 12 pack called "Charming"  I managed to make 21 cards using it. (Down to tiny scraps of paper)

It was a good decision on my part to challenge myself that way.  Or I would never have made that
many cards to fill my almost empty stash box.

The pic below is some of the cards grouped together.  They are not all shown because some of them have been given out already.

I found making the basic box fairly easy.  Where I had a difficult time was trying to put my flowers inside the box.  This card was my second attempt...

Quilt Card

I made another card with the snippets left from the designer paper I purchased...Hot off the Press, 12 count paper pack (Charming)  I'm getting to the end of the cards to show you made with this designer paper pack
.
I think my next way to challenge myself...Is either to start with new paper...or start using all the rubber stamps I have that have not touched ink...(That would keep me busy for a long time).

I added vellum to stamp my sentiment using a stamp from North woods rubber stamps.  I heat embossed it with black embossing powder...added brads and a ribbon.

I made this inchies card using scraps from my designer paper...I punched out the square tiles using Two punches...One from EK success, and the other one from paper shapers.

Easel Card

Not sure how I feel about this card...I like Easel Cards...so I wanted to give this card fold another try...And it's done in my favorite color combo... and I'm still using up my designer paper that I purchased from Paper wishes...(Hot of the press, Charming paper pack)
I'm finally getting down to end of the paper...I only have three more cards to post.

I'm so glad I tried using it for inspiration.  After weeks of not being able to make a card...It, obviously, inspired me.

Inlay Card

I made this card using a tweezers to inlay the tiny pieces inside  the teapot.
I die cut out the Serendipity Teapot and put it on Sticker paper first for the pieces to adhere inside the pot.
I used an Our Daily Bread die to cut out the word Hello.  Added lace and a ribbon. My card base is made with more of my Hot of the press Designer paper (Charming)

Stencil Card

I made this card using a Dreamweaver Stencil for my Umbrella...
and yes, Again, some more of my same Designer paper...(that I used in my last couple of cards)!

I used my Spellbinder Grand Nestabilities round die for the frame...which I cut out of Stampin' Up Wood grain paper pack.  I added two stickers made by Jolee,   I cut a cloud out of a die by SweetNSassy.  I used a pre colored piece of vellum for my sand, and I colored some vellum with Tim Holtz Distress ink for the ocean in the background.

Side Step Card

This is one of my favorite folds.  I have lost count as to how many cards I have made with this fold.

I again used my same "Hot of the press" designer paper (Charming)  One thing you may have figured out if you've seen any of my last eight cards.     Is that, I like to make cards using designer paper.
Considering how much designer paper I have left in my craft room.  I could probably make cards with it till about 2030?

I used three dies on this card all made by Impressions Obsession.  bench die 244-H,
Dog die 142-J
Tree die-084V.  I also added an embellishment from Graphic 45,  and some twine,

Vellum Card

I was trying to straighten up my craft room and get it more organized  (A Lost Cause)
As soon as I make another card...well, I think some of you may know what I am talking about...smile

While trying to straighten up things...I found a pack of vellum paper that I didn't know I still had.
So naturally, I had to try and make something using it.

My vellum was stamped with gold embossing powder, and then colored on the other side of the paper with copic pens.  I die cut the flower with a Spellbinder oval die cut.  Added  a strip of lace and a ribbon...

My stamp set is from SweetNSassy stamps...My paper was purchased from Paper Wishes...Hot off the press designer paper  Called Charming.

Twisted Pop Up Card

But I have seen it on the Internet as Pop and Twist...or
Twist and Pop..

I lost count as to how many I have made of these cards...I think this one makes number 8.

My card, again, was made using some of my Hot of the press designer paper, Charming.

I added some butterflies that I fussy cut out of designer paper (forgot to write down the name)
I used a Spellbinder die for the White trim inside the card.  I wanted it to look like a Trellis.  The die I used is called Crisscross.  I stamped my sentiment on the front of the card using  a stamp from SweetNSassy.

Folded Gift Card

The above card was made by folding one 12 x 12 sheet of designer paper... (into an A2 size card)

Again the paper is from Hot off the press...The paper's name is Charming

The inside of the card can be used for a gift card holder...

I used one of my doily dies for the center (a die that I can't locate at the moment)
Added a ribbon to close the gift card holder, and a button.

As I said in my last four posts...I'm trying to challenge myself to use up all the designer paper in a 12 pack of double sided paper that I purchased.  through Paperwishes.  It's  "Hot off the Press" paper called "Charming"

The fold I used is called Double Dutch door.  I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities die for the oval and scalloped edge die....and just added a ribbon.

Card done with paper piecing

I made this card using a Rubbernecker stamp (Jeanne)
my die cut frame was made using s Spellbinder Nestabilitie die  (A2 Filigree Delight)
My sentiment was stamped in Memento ink...my stamp was from Hampton Arts
And I again used my Hot off the press Designer paper for her dress.  Added lace and
brads.

Glitter Card

I'm still showing some of the cards I made using my pack of "Hot off the Press" Designer Paper that I purchased from Paper Wishes.  (It's called Charming)

I like Glitter Cards...but I do not like the mess.  When I made this card I not only had glitter all over the table, I had it on the floor,  my hands, and on my face...(which my hubby noticed!   and told me!)  I also had it in my hair.   Usually, I like to work with glitter in the spring and summer when I can work outside with it at my picnic table (as long as it not too windy...smile)  But it has just been too hot to do that right now.  

I did the double glitter technique on this card...and I made my rose using a metal stencil made by Dreamweaver.  My lace I made using a die from SweetNSassy.

Tea bag folded card...

Well It looks like I did remember how to post after all this time...so I decided to go ahead post again today...and finally post a card.

For Christmas this past year, I purchased some designer paper from Paper wishes.  I purchased a 12 pack of paper for each of my weekly crafting buddies, and while I was at it.  I purchased a 12 piece paper pack  for me.

  I challenged myself to see how long it would take me to use up the whole pack of paper, and to see how many different card folds I could make with this paper.  So you are going to see a lot of the cards I have made lately   USING THE SAME PAPER!  Good thing I liked the paper...smile.  It's paper wishes, Charming pack.  

My card is was made using the tea bag folding technique.  The Dahlia fold.

Finally

 I had hoped to post these pictures on Father's day...  

Our daughter had taken us to

Longwood Gardens this past May

When I go to Longwood with my camera...I always seem to come back with photos from the wooded areas of  Longwood.  There are so many pretty gardens,  And of course, lots and lots of flowers.

But the wooded areas have always been my favorite (and our daughter's favorite too).

I think they remind me of my childhood.

When I look at my daughter I find it so hard to believe that so much time has gone by... since we first started going to visit these gardens with her.  Our daughter had been about four years old when we first went to these gardens with her...she is NOW the mother of two college age children.

I just hope that I am posting all these pics correctly, etc.

It's been so long since I last posted that I almost forgot how to do post.

I have finally made some cards to post...and I hope to start posting them tomorrow.
