Blackout embossing!

This card was made using a technique I found on Split coast Stampers. It's called black out embossing.  I made a card using this technique before...but I wasn't happy with it. So I gave it another try.

It's made using a 3-d embossing folder.  Instead of coloring on the embossed side of the paper... You use the debossed side of the paper.  then color inside the images and then cover the whole card with black ink.

Hope everyone visiting here is having a great day.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Vintage card for the twisted Sister challenge

The challenge for this month at the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast... was to make something for the theme "Vintage!"

The theme had me stuck and then I spotted some Designers Paper  That looked a little bit like fabric.  I got out my Apron die and used that paper.  Apron's are kind of vintage.  I still have one that I sewed many years ago.  (wouldn't know how to use my machine now)  But don't ask me how long it's been since I wore it.

Hubby took me out to breakfast as promised.. and then I came home and received a text from one of my neighbors she wanted to come and visit.  She is one of the neighbors who used to come and make cards with me a lot.  Today she had time to make a card.  I almost forgot how much fun it was crafting with her.  (I think  I got her interested and wants to try  again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day

I'm late with my card again.  I made a quick card for my hubby today, and just got it finished. Hubby wanted to take me out for dinner...but it didn't work out today...but he gave me a rain check for sometime tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a nice day today.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Sympathy card!

I was trying out a technique that was on Splitcoast Stampers...that didn't quite work out..  But I do like this new embossing folder that I have...  so I will have to try again.

Stamping, embossing, and sponging.

Valentine card

This card was made with an older stamp that I have.  It's still on the wood block.  Most of my older stamps have been taken off of it's original wood block but when I have some that are my very favorite... I don't always take off the block because I'm afraid that I would ruin them.

I have made many cards using this stamp.  On this card I  heat embossed the stamped image and then colored the image with copics.

Hope to make some more valentine cards today... We'll see.  What I hope to do and what I ending up doing...are sometimes two different things.

Hope everyone has a great weekend,

Blessings,

Jill

Floating strips card

Yes, another floating strips card.  This is still one of my favorite techniques to make a card.  It's quick and easy and a good way to use up scraps.  You can find the instructions at Split Coast stampers in their tutorial section under floating strips.

I made the card even quick because I used some stickers for my balloon and cake.  (still trying to use up some of my stickers.

I have mentioned before that I love to read.  The above book is by a new author to me...Robin Lee Hatcher,  I really enjoyed reading this book, and I put it aside to read a second time at a later date and ordered some more books by her...  (It's a Christian Fiction Romance book
Yes, I realize that the above picture is blurry, but I have already spent too much time on the computer...so I decided to just post it anyway.

Two of my crafting buddies, Who I used to make cards with...They're are just too busy to get together anymore...but they did come to my house and threw a little surprise  party for hubbly and I for our Last Anniversary.  They also brought a special gift for me...a kit to do a Diamond Dotz bookmark.  I thought it was fun.... but I can't picture myself getting into as much as they have.  They have done some fabulous work ... Picture for on their walls, etc. (Everything they do is fabulous work.

On a personal note.  I went for a two hour test yesterday for my pesty vertigo (That doesn't want to go away)  Please say some prayers for me/send good thoughts for good news.

I have an appointment with the doctor to go over over the results of the test after I get my blood work done.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Blessings,

Jill
