Squigglefly Challenge SFC109

My granddaughter in her "pin tucked" dress

It's Monday so it is time for another Squigglefly Challenge. I made this card for Challenge SFC109. You can join in the fun too at Squigglefly this week. The challenge is an easy one...
Add a handwritten sentiment, doodling or something hand drawn to your project.
You will find the Challenge Link here
I've been told that my handwriting is legible, so I wasn't intimidated to have to use my own handwriting, but I chose to try something different. I can't draw, but I think that almost anyone can do doodling...even me...smile... I first heard about Zentangles at Split Coast Stampers, when they had a Ways to Use in Challenge, and you were to make a card using Zentangles... It was Split Coast Challenge WT271. For learning about the technique they posted Zentangle.com to get ideas.
My image is called Susie with Heart and the Artist is Lynn Stansbery. My husband colored the image for me with copics, and I made a Zentangle frame around the image.
I chose this image because it reminded me of both my daughter and granddaughter growing up. I used to make dresses for my daughter with Smocking on it, and this dress almost looked like smocking. It also reminded me of a dress I made for my granddaughter that had pin tucks on the front of the dress...

How do you Stop a Charging Elephant?

In case you didn't know the answer...LOL My answer can be found below

Don't worry the card is not real...it's one of those fake ones that come in the mail advertisements LOL
Jake is a 13 year old boy who is having his 17th Surgery. Jake's Mother wanted Jake to receive some funny/Joke cards for him to read during his recovery. Doing this card was out of my comfort zone. I usually like to make frilly cards with flowers, lace, etc. But it was fun to make.
I just hope Jake likes it and it gives him a smile. Please add Jake to your prayers.
My image is a digi that I found in a magazine I recently purchased it gave permission to scan and duplicate for use. I made two copies of the digi and popped them up after coloring w/copics. I used come October afternoon designer paper for the background, added a brad and Wiggly eyes, and added a computer generated joke.

After I posted this card...which only took me five tries...I don't know why I had such a hard time doing this post...I realized I posted the wrong picture. If you want to see my card AFTER I added the wiggly eyes...I posted the link to my gallery at split coast...You can also see all the other great cards to this challenge there too.

Seeing her card in my mailbox today, was one very special surprise. Thank you so much Cathleen...Cathleen made me feel like "One in a million" today.

In the Good Old Summertime

Happy Monday everyone, and Happy Independence day to everyone in the USA!

Today it's time for the Squigglefly challenge, and the day for my very first design team card to be posted. I'm excited to be able to be a part of this... You can find the challenge for Squigglefly here
You too can join in the fun and post Your "Fun in the summertime themed card" My card is called A Walk in the Park, and it is a digi by Artist Lynn Stansbery. You can find the digi that I used here
There are also some "freebies" that you can use from Squigglefly, you can find the Squigglefly home page here
The digi that I used " A Walk In the Park" was colored w/copics by my husband. I added a fence which was cut with a Sizzix Sizzlit, and a rose sticker (Jolee sticker)
I selected this digi because it reminded me of the time I first met my husband's family. I was invited for dinner at my husband's house on a beautiful summer evening. I was meeting everyone for the first time, his parents, and his siblings, and I was very nervous. After dinner, my "New" boyfriend (Now hubby) asked me if I wanted to take a short walk. I was overjoyed to be able to get away for a few minutes, my nerves were getting the best of me, and the walk helped to calm me down.
It started out as a pleasant walk, beautiful summer night, soft breeze blowing, and we were walking under some lovely shade trees. As we got nearer to all the trees I could hear all these birds in the trees above us. My first thought was..."I hope none of these birds decide to drop something unwanted out of tree and land on top of us." I no sooner had that thought when I saw something drop down on the right front of my brand new lovely YELLOW dress. A dress I was wearing for the very first time. I looked at the "unwanted substance" and was trying to figure out how I could somehow discreetly remove the "glob" without being noticed at all. I tried to retrieve a Kleenex out of my pocket (or purse) and get rid of the unwanted "yuk" Thinking I had successfully completed my secret mission, I was then trying to figure out what to do with the now unwanted Kleenex I had used, when I heard this voice to the left of me say..."They Got Ya?" Needless to say, since I was a teenager, who embarrassed very easily...It was not a favorite moment at the time...smile.
