Birthday card for my neighbor

I made this birthday card for my neighbor.  This was my second try at making a card for her for her birthday.  My first card failed!  I think I'm losing my touch!

I thought this card might work because we have these yellow Daffodil's blooming in our yard right now.  Spring flowers are always my favorite.

Hubby colored the flower for me.  I stamped the flower using a stamp that came in the latest magazine that I purchased.  "Simply Cards & Papercrafts."

Another sample card

This is another sample card I had made to show my sister as a sample to see what card she wanted to make for her friend.

The problem is because of her busy schedule and me getting sick...we've had to cancel a couple of times.  Oh well, if it's too late for her to make her card.  I do have some cards to add to my stash.

I made this center fold card using flowers from one of my magazines.  (I've been putting them to good use).

I used a stamp set from Simply Cards and Papercraft..  Issue 191.

I colored my flowers with copics and cut out an oval die using a die from Die-namics  Oval open scallop doily.  Added a ribbon.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

I will be back later today to enter some of the wonderful kind comets I received from my last post.   Thank you!

Jill

Rose card

This card was made using a stamp from one of my magazines.

"Simply cards and Papercrafts" Issue 148.

I like this rose stamp  (for one thing it is easy to color.

I have been busy trying to make sample cards for my sister ...I had been after her for years to make cards with me.  I think she thought she wouldn't like to craft.  A few months back she came and made a card.  I know she really enjoyed herself and hoped to get back and make some more.  She's a very busy lady so it wasn't till this week that she called me and said she would like to make another card.  (Made my day!)  We had so much fun the last time she came to make her card.  So I have several cards to post that I have made as samples for her to look at and see if she wants to try making any of them.

That is one of the reasons I haven't checked my blog lately.  And what a nice surprise at all the comments I have to look at...I so appreciate it when people stop by and comment on my blog.  I didn't have time today to post them, but tomorrow I will try and catch up with my commenting.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

added a brad for the doorknob, a tree sticker, and used paper from Su for the wood look (Wood Textures) I fussy cut some of the extra wood off to the side of the house.

Tea Pot Challenge card

I made this card for this week's tea pot challenge at Split coast stampers.

I usd to do this challenge every week for a while and somewhere along the way I stopped.  You know how it is ...life seemed to get busy...  But I hope to get back on a regular basis it is such a worth while challenge.

This card is going to a fellow in Rhode Island.  I'm making it a thinking of you card.    I have never been to this state but my hubby has been.  He was stationed there when he was in the military.

I made this card using Stamps and dies from a Magazine.  I sponged the background with Distress Inks and also colored with copics.

Card for the free for All Challenge

I made this card for the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.

I can't even begin to remember how long it's been since I enetered a card for that challenge.

This one popped out at me because we were to make a card that said "spring" to us.

My first thought was about the brand new nest being built under the eaves of our porch.  I didn't see it till yesterday morning.  A robin built a nest there last year.  (Makes me wonder if it's the same one)  To me, this was a really big reminder that spring is on it's way.

I stamped the bird with a stamp that came with a magazine that I have.  The magazine is Simply Cards and Papercrafts.  I tried my best to make the bird look like a robin.  I stamped it using memento ink.  I then colored some of it with copics. I added a gem for the eye,   My background paper is from BoBunny.

Hope you are having a great weekend

Birthday Card

I ran out of birthday cards...so I need to start making a bunch.  I needed some cards for some friends birthdays.  They didn't get sent because I didn't get them made in time.  So I made mysef sit down and make some.

I've have been making cards now for about 17 years.  I never thought the time would come that I would find it so difficult to sit down and make a card.  (But then I never thought that we would live in such difficult times either)..

I realize now why I have not been posting much...I really don't want to post negative posts...  I think I need to revisit my pinterest pages and go to a section where I have posted cartoons and jokes...maybe....

That will help...

Twofer Challenge Birds

 Click on cards to enlarge
I finally managed to make another Twofer Challenge.  I've only
managed to make one Challenge.    I've already managed to make one card for the challenge and then by the time I got around to trying to make a second one the challenge time was up...(what can I say...I'm slow at making cards!)

For this challenge you are to make two cards with the same stamp or die, but they have to be for two different occasions and two different designs.

The link to the challenge can be found here...
https://twofercardchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/01/twofer-card-challenge-12.html

I made my bird cards using a stamp (and matching die) that was in a magazine I purchased..."Simply cards and papercraft" issue 165.

I colored my birds with copics, and used Graphic 45 paper for my backgrounds.

On my first card I used peel offs, the sentiment was stamped with a stamp that came from the same magazine.

The second card I used a sentiment that came from SweetNSassy, and I paper pieced my birdhouse.  I added a vine using a die from Cheery Lynn Designs,  the die is called Fanciful Flourish B117.

Snowy day

I managed to get a lot done with the snowy day today...
My three favorite of the 10 cards I made...
The snow we had to today, inspired me to make some Christmas cards.  Besides the snow for inspiration I used the paper pad that came with my Cards and Papercraft magazine.  I also cased some of their examples, and made some of my own...
Most of my supplies that I used are from the Hot off the Press paper that came with the magazine, and I added a few embellishments of my own, stickles, brads, dimensionals, ribbon etc.
I don't usually manage to get this much done in one day, maybe I need more "snowy" days...NOT!
The magazine sample cards were actually square cards...I am a big fan of square cards, I like the look but not the extra postage, so I changed the size of mine to A2 cards.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Hope you are having a nice weekend.
Happy crafting to you...
Blessings,
Jill
