Inside of card

I am definitely addicted to Pinterest!  I have a feeling that I am not the only one.  

I have pinned so many things for inspiration, that I have decided that I need to stop pinning and start going back to see what I pinned, and see if I can use the pins for inspiration.

The  card that I cased...I first spotted on Pinterest, I'm surprised that I missed seeing it on Split Coast Stampers because so many people had put the card in their favorites...

It's a card made by darleenstamps...  I like her card better than mine, but I'm so happy to find this great inspiration.  Thank you Darlene.

My card was made using a stamp by Stampin' Up.  It's an oldie but one I still keep using a lot.  (Garden Silhouettes)  My designer paper and ribbon is also from Stampin' Up.  My sentiment is a NBUS stamp from SweetNSassy stamps.

I finished the inside of my card, something I don't usually do when I MAKE my cards.  I wait till I'm ready to send it to put something on the inside.

I think I'm going to start finishing more of my cards as I make them now...

The lady that had been my Mother's best friend, is carrying on the tradition of taking my sister and me out to lunch on our birthday every year.   Since our birthdays fall within one week of each other, it's especially nice to celebrate them together.  My Mother used to do that for us, and her best friend told my Mother that she would continue to do that for her. (in her memory)

Since she is so nice to do that for us.  I always make her a box of cards as a thank you and a box of cards for my sister.  They both like it when the cards are finished inside, and not just left blank.  So this year when I gave them each a dozen cards...I had to quick (because of short notice for our lunch date) try and do the insides of the cards.  I think it took me as long to do that as make the cards.  I hope to be better prepared for the next time if she takes us again.

I just wanted to add that I apologize for not visiting blogs as much, I don't spend as much time typing on the computer because of the pain in my shoulder.  Hopefully, when I go to my doctor's appointment I will get some relief from the shoulder pain and be able to be on the computer more.  The problem is...I could not get a doctor appointment till May!

Sympathy card

I made this card for my friend, Cherie, who recently lost her grandfather.  She was his only grandchild...so they were very close.  I wanted to make a special card, and I thought that this digi image (colored with copics by my hubby) would work for me and the verse I wanted to use on the card.

Card In Black and White...

I'm still continuing my Challenge to use up some of my sticker stash.  My Sympathy card (Which, thankfully, I don't have an immediate need for right now)  has a rub on sticker for the sentiment (MSE!  My Sentiments Exactly) and the sunflowers are a jolee Sticker.  My background has a die cut frame borrowed from a friend...not sure of the name of the die)  and my vine is cut from a Cheerylyn designs die (fanciful Flourish)
My flip flop card...the flip flops are a jolee sticker, and I used peel off stickers for make a frame around the edge.  My sentiment is Computer generated.

The path

 The stamp used is by Our Daily Bread Designs,   It is called "Path"  my husband colored this card for me with copics.   Since it's a sympathy card. ( I made this one for my second nephew) I decided to keep this card plain, and just let my husband's wonderful detailed coloring show. Sentiment is from SweetNSassy stamps.

I'm putting this inside the card:

No tears past the Gate.  Someone new has entered our eternal home above - the heavenly gate has opened to welcome one you love.  We cannot help the tears that fall - our hearts need time to grieve when earthly life has ended and a loved one has to leave.  Yet even in the saddest time, we know our Savior lives, and we can trust completely in the promise that He gives - that in a glad reunion with the Lord our loved ones wait to welcome us in joy with no more tears beyond the gate!

I don't have to tell anyone reading my blog that I enjoy making cards....LOL. 
While it's been not my favorite thing to do...Make Sympathy cards...it has been therapy for me this week.  My husband lost his oldest sister to cancer on Friday.  It has helped me to take my mind off of some of the sadness.  I only have a few more to make, and then I hope to post Happier cards again.

Sisters...

I made this card as a sympathy card for my sister-in-law, I hope it brings comfort.

The image (unknown to me) was rubber stamped with memento ink, and then colored with copics by my husband.

added a punch (fiskars) lace trim across the bottom, added a ribbon, and popped the image on dimensionals.

Another card for a Split Coast challenge

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast.  It was my turn to give the challenge this week.  I don't like to make sympathy cards, but it seems I have needed many of these this past year, and I usually don't have them on hand.  I wanted to have a card to keep on hand (and hope I DON'T need it)
My husband colored the image for me with copics.  I'm not sure who the image is by, because I think this is another image that was stamped at our local stamp store, a while back.
I have a book that is filled with images that my husband colored for me, I am trying to finally use them in my cards.  He can color the images much faster than I can make the cards...smile.
I added a ribbon, and brads, and the background was made using a spellbinder die...The sentiment is from a stamp by SweetNsassy stamps.

Sympathy card and a Birthday Idea

I Know my Subject title sounds strange, to share a Sympathy card, and a Birthday Idea...

The Sympathy card, I made for my Aunt.  I recently lost my Uncle Bob, My favorite Uncle.  He was one of those people that everyone liked.  Always had a sense of humor, and could make you smile. 
My parents divorced when I was a young teenager, and my Uncle Bob was there for me through the difficult times.  Always supportive always trying to lift my spirits. 

As I was going through my family albums and scrapbooks, looking for pictures of my Uncle...

I found copies that I had made of a Birthday Present I did for him.  He had moved out of state, and I was trying to figure out how I could have a birthday party for him.  I came up with the idea of a Birthday Party in a box.  I think I have seen since that idea on party sites on the web, that you could buy gifts that would be a birthday party in a box.  But when I came up with my Birthday party in a box, I didn't know that you could buy something like that...or maybe in wasn't available in 1999, when I sent him his box. 

Some of the photos I took and scanned of his scrapbook (I made a copy for me too, so I could remember all that I sent him)  Didn't post for me...so I only ended up with a few...

The first page that didn't post was a page that said Surprise, and showed a group of people yelling surprise, I then showed on the next page, pictures of his family, and some wrote on an autograph page for me. I went to different family members and asked them to write some birthday messages on a page for me.

I then had this cover page that you see below

 The Next page in my book, had a paper birthday hat that I made for him and I told him to put on his birthday hat...

I then had a color page of a birthday cake with the candles lit...told him to blow out the candles
and make a wish.

 The next page was the same picture of the birthday cake with the candles no longer lit
I told him "good Job" and I hoped that he got his wish.

The next couple of pages, had printed birthday puzzles, games and birthday jokes.

The next page in the scrapbook was titled  " your gifts", and I had made a flat box and put a gift certificate in it, and some other small mailable gifts that other family members had given me to enclose in his box.

I also had a picture of a memory jar, and told him some things I remember from growing up, and enclosed some more pics.

It was Happy to have this as a memory, of something I gave to him.  He enjoyed it so much...

God Bless you, Uncle Bob!  You will be greatly missed.

Quick Sympathy Card

I needed to make another sympathy card...This one went rather quickly. Just used an embossing folder....Darice, Tree with leaves. and for the bottom a spellbinder die, Shapeabilities, Persian Accents. I colored my folder with ink, embossed, and then added a rub on sentiment and ribbon.

Cards I don't like to make

I enjoy making cards, and as many of you know, it's one of my favorite things to do.  However, I do not like making sympathy cards.  This week I needed to quickly make 4 sympathy cards.  And it's for an especially sad occasion--I just hope my cards will help to bring comfort.

Almost a Valentine's card

This card was supposed to be a Valentine's card, but after I finished it, I realized it really looks more like a sympathy card...
My husband colored the image with copics, I added an embossed Stampin' Up background (with the lattice folder) and added a ribbon.

Card from a friend

I can't believe that almost a month has gone by since I last posted on my blog. Where does the time go? When they say that time flies...well, I sure believe it now...smile. I received this beautiful card from a dear friend (and stamping buddy) Kathi, about two weeks ago, but I have NOT found the time to post it till now. Thank you Kathi, for this lovely card, and for being a dear friend.

I finally have made a couple of cards, will try to start posting them tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I have so admired seeing Cathleen's (Ctorina on Split Coast stampers) cards in the gallery. She makes one beautiful card after another. They are all so elegant and beautiful. Seeing her card in my mailbox today, was one very special surprise. Thank you so much Cathleen...Cathleen made me feel like "One in a million" today.

She wanted to see a picture of it, and told that she made baskets with paper twist, but was having trouble still finding it in craft stores. I told her I still had a bunch of it my craft room (and who knows what else is in that room---I definitely need to clean it out) anyway she told me that when she made another one she would show it to me. Well, she made another one, and yes, it brought me to tears when she gave it to me. It's so beautiful, and I am going to put my sympathy cards in the basket.
