Card I received from Mother Mark at Split Coast Stampers

 The Card I posted above is a card I received from Cindy, AKA  Mother Mark at Split Coast Stampers...Cindy made 73 of these cards as a thank you card for  the tea potters group.  Wow!

I wasn't too experienced with doing challenges, but this one sounded like fun.  (and it is..)

I find this challenge to be the easiest for me...because the challenge is usually done by theme.

A few week's ago our challenge theme was to do a card to honor "Mother Mark" the one who started this challenge in the first place.  Cindy hosted over 200 challenges.  How she did that I will never know.  She not only hosted each week's challenge,...she wrote out a story, made a card,...posted on each person's card...etc.  She also would find a possible destination for our cards if we "wanted" to send our cards to the address that she would provide.  The Destinations are usually for someone who is need of some extra cheering up.  Someone who just had surgery, Serious Illnesses, etc.  And sometimes for very special occasions such as Eula's 109th birthday.

I counted my cards, and I only managed to do 62 cards for the challenges... Not much when you stop to consider that Cindy has done more than 200.

But below I have posted what were three of my favorite of the 62 cards that I made for the Teapot Tuesday Challenges...

The card below was posted for a challenge where we were to put Cherries on our cards.

This challenge had me stumped at first, because I did not have a punch that had the right size circle, or any die cuts, etc.  So what I ended up doing was getting out my shrink art, coloring a circle with my copics and, of course, shrinking it, to size.  It worked out perfectly for my card. (I used a small plate to draw around for my circle...of course, it's one I use with the "tea cups"  smile.  and I almost forgot the cherry stems were made from bread ties (My husband's great idea!)

 The next card we were to make a card with  vegetables or a garden on it.  Well, again, I didn't have a stamp I needed.  Nothing with vegetables on it.  Then I remembered the image that my husband had colored for me.  I really like this stove image, that I made into a Joy fold card.  The stove has a pot of Vegetable soup on it.  Along with some zucchini bread, and a sweet potato pie.  There is also a teapot of tea for the tea potters.

The Tea pot challenge at split coast is for anyone to join.  I have the link posted above.  You do not have to send your card to the destination's that they suggest to send your card....but oh when you do, it's such a good feeling to know that you may have made some one's day even if it is just to add some happy mail in there mailbox.

Cards for my Weekly craft night

I have mentioned before, that I am very fortunate to be able to get together every week with two of my craft buddies at my home.  I so look forward to Thursday nights...
Usually it's mainly just to craft together, and do show and tell  (feel like I'm back in school...smile)

We started doing something new...Once a month we take turns playing "teacher" and we do a monthly "Make and Take"
My first card, was the sample card I made for my "teaching" example.  It's made with a herringbone background...you can find the tutorial here
I first saw it done on a card, at Carol's blog.  Carol, uses this technique a lot on her cards,  and every time I would see it, I would say to myself, "You've to learn that technique"  Well, Carol, thanks to you I finally did it!!!!  Yea!!!  Since I have been fortunate enough to actually craft with Carol a couple of times, I may have actually seen one of her fabulous cards done in this technique in real life.

My card is made with a Sugar Nellie image, which I think is called "Sophie"  It's one of the first images that my husband colored for me, so I've had it a long time...finally got around to making a card with it, and I not only made this for an example for my crafting buddies, Cherie, and Kathi,
I also made it for a challenge at Split Coast.  The challenge was to make a card with a child on it.

My second card was for our Thursday night challenge, I was to make a masculine card.  The only thing is I probably shouldn't have used flowered Designer paper as my wallpaper on the card.
The card was made using a 3d image (the clock) made from a 3d sheet that Cherie purchased for me.

Butterfly card

This card is so NOT me. I was trying to challenge myself and learn how to make some cards with chevrons on it...and this was my first try.  I'm not used to white space on a card...(although, I know I see more and more cards made that way.  The butterfly images were colored with copics by my husband.  and, as I often do, I forgot to look for the link where I learned how to make these chevrons.  I'll have to look it up and add it later.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  I know I'm a bit late...but had some computer problems...(does that count as an excuse?  smile.  Actually, I'm usually late for everything anyway...)

This is the card I gave my hubby today for Valentine's day.  I know it's not a very masculine card, but he liked it anyway.  It's one he didn't help me to make, and didn't see me making it.

This is a card I have posted before, but I just love the image, I always feel like it could be a pic of the two of us.  The boy on the card looks a lot like my husband did when he was young.  I was about 4 years old when I met my husband, which would have made him a little over the age of 5.  I don't remember the day, but my husband says that he does.... SURE!  LOL.

It was colored with copics by my Husband.

Thomas Kinkade card

My husband colored this Thomas Kinkade image for me with copics.  I used a Cuttlebug and a Darice embossing folder to make a frame around the image.  I stamped and heat embossed the fish, and then did some fussy cutting.  I added a dragonfly brad which was a gift from my crafting buddy, Kathi.

Another Valentine card

I made this card for House Mouse Challenge #37...for the theme of "cuts"  My "Cuts"
are the hearts made with my spellbinder die "cuts"  The image is from House Mouse,
My designer paper is called Love notes,   My image was colored with copics by my husband,
and I added lace, ribbon and a brad...

Valentine card

 I cased this card from Korin...You can see her card here  I saw Korin's card at Split Coast Stampers, and realized that I have this same Designer paper,  Love Notes...that I could use for a Valentine card.
I cased her card, and I hope I followed the rules correctly, the rules they have at Split coast is that you have to change at least three things on the card.  I used a different frame, and instead of stamping birds on the tree, I used my birds on a wire punch from Martha Stewart, I added a bow, and a charm.

My second card, is a card from Stamping Night.  I didn't get to go to stamping night, but I had my friend Kathi, buy the supplies for me and show me the cards she made at Stamp night, and this is one of them.  Still need to make the other three...(I told you I am slow...smile)  the bee is stamped with a Stampin' Up stamp, and the frame is popped up squares, I stamped the sentiment with a stamp from Justrite.  I like the Hexagon embossing folder for the background.  (that folder is on my wish list)  Thanks to my Stampin' Up Demo, Stacie...
