Twofer Challenge Birds

I finally managed to make another Twofer Challenge.  I've only

managed to make one Challenge.    I've already managed to make one card for the challenge and then by the time I got around to trying to make a second one the challenge time was up...(what can I say...I'm slow at making cards!)

For this challenge you are to make two cards with the same stamp or die, but they have to be for two different occasions and two different designs.

I made my bird cards using a stamp (and matching die) that was in a magazine I purchased..."Simply cards and papercraft" issue 165.

I colored my birds with copics, and used Graphic 45 paper for my backgrounds.

On my first card I used peel offs, the sentiment was stamped with a stamp that came from the same magazine.

The second card I used a sentiment that came from SweetNSassy, and I paper pieced my birdhouse.  I added a vine using a die from Cheery Lynn Designs,  the die is called Fanciful Flourish B117.

Christmas card for my doctor.

I made the above card for my eye doctor who did my eye surgery last year.  I never sent him a thank you card, so when I send out my Christmas cards...this card will go along with my thank you letter.

 

The card was made using three dies.  Two dies were borrowed from friends.  Tree die is borrowed from Cherie, and she told me that she thinks it's a die from Cheery Lynn. The glasses are a die I borrowed from Kathi, it's from Taylored Expressions, The star die is from SweetNSassy stamps.  I also used an embossing folder from Stampin' Up, (Textured)  and my ribbon is from Stampin' Up.

 

The card fold is a center step fold, I found the instructions at Split Coast Stampers.

 

I am so sorry that I have not been around as much lately with posting or commenting.  I have been having computer problems.  My hubby is usually very good with correcting any problems that I have with my computer.  This time I have him totally stumped.  He has spent many hours on my computer running all kinds of programs (cleaner, malware check, virus check, etc. etc.)  Everything shows up as being okay.  He even spent lots of time on the phone with our ISP...but my problems still exist!  Sometimes I get into my blog, and sometimes not!  If this post publishes, obviously, it will be one of the times I can.  It's not just blogger that is giving me grief.  It's also google, and Firefox.  Anyone else reading this been having any of these difficulties with the programs mentioned above ?

 

So when I can't get into my programs I have been doing fall house cleaning.  Below is a pic of one of the things I have been gathering together to make their way out the door.

 

The above pic is just half of the books and magazines going out the door.  Can you tell at one time I was a magazine addict?  My pile has sewing, quilting, crochet, knitting, cross-stitch, embroidery, plastic canvas, craft, and paper crafting magazines ( and books) in the pile.

This is the third time that I did a clean out with my magazines.  It is so difficult to let these things go.  I had to get it through my head that I would have to live to at least age 150 to use every idea in these books that I have marked with a sticky note...smile.

Anniversary Card..

I made this Anniversary card to add to my stash!  I purchased a book "Card Sketches for Paper Crafters."  And I cased a card in the book that was made by Julia Stainton...  Her Blog can be found here...  http://juliastainton.com/blog/

I  used Stampin' Up Crumb Cake for the card base...
I heat embossed a background stamp with Wow embossing powder...I used Stampin' UP's background stamp "Bella Toile, My doily embellishment was made using a die from Cheery Lynn dies. 
My flower is from Recollections, I used peel offs for my sentiment, and added, twine and leaves.

Ruby Anniversary

First, before I show you my card...I wanted to say thank you to all of you who commented on my Aunt's first cards.  I showed her all of the comments, and let me tell you...YOU MADE HER DAY!  She was so surprised to receive all those nice comments, and she wanted me to thank everyone.

I made this card for a friend's 40th Anniversary.  I used an image from Digital two for Tuesday, that my hubby colored for me with copics.  I used some of my new toys I recently purchased at the stamp show I attended.  I used my Cheery Lynn die for the background (A2 frame die FRM114) and my corner die is from Marianne designs, Craftables, My background paper is a gift from Grace      .http://th-ink-ingofyou.blogspot.com/..   thank you grace.

Aunt Kathy's Cards

 My Aunt Kathy made both of these cards!

I have family staying with me this week from out of town.  Last night my Aunt joined us for Craft night.  She had a blast!  She really enjoyed making the two cards I posted today.  I asked her if she wanted me to post them to my blog...and the answer, of course, was yes.  I think she really did a nice job on her first two cards that she has ever made.  So last night she used a rubber stamp for the first time, the Big shot for the first time to dry emboss and to die cut.  She also used copics for the first time to color her hat.  She enjoyed it all.

She also used some of my new goodies that I purchased last week at the Stamp show that I attended.  The cute beagle image is from Impression Obsession, and the frame die from Cheery Lynn Designs. The hat is from some peel offs that I purchased and she colored it with copics.  

I think if my Aunt lived closer we would have a new person coming to our craft nights.

It's been a busy week, but a great week reconnecting with family members that I have not seen for a long time.

Card In Black and White...

I'm still continuing my Challenge to use up some of my sticker stash.  My Sympathy card (Which, thankfully, I don't have an immediate need for right now)  has a rub on sticker for the sentiment (MSE!  My Sentiments Exactly) and the sunflowers are a jolee Sticker.  My background has a die cut frame borrowed from a friend...not sure of the name of the die)  and my vine is cut from a Cheerylyn designs die (fanciful Flourish)
My flip flop card...the flip flops are a jolee sticker, and I used peel off stickers for make a frame around the edge.  My sentiment is Computer generated.

Kindness

I made this card for two challenges...The Queen for a day challenge at Split Coast stampers (for last week's challenge...I'm a slow card maker!) and also for this week's Twisted Sister challenge at Split Coast stampers...

I've been following Stacy's blog for a long time, and admiring all her lovely, creative work.  I was really happy to see her given the well deserved honor of being queen for a day.

The second challenge is Twisted Sister challenge TSC0607.  My card was supposed to have a square, rectangle, oval, and a bit of yellow. 
I made a card that has a square (my card base) a rectangle, spellbinder die, and a CIRCLE, My Cheery Lynn Doily Die  (whoops!) It was supposed to an oval.  But did add the yellow.  I managed to 3 out of 4 correct. 
My house mouse image was stamped with Memento ink, and colored with copics by my husband.
BG000, B0000, C1, E50, R00, W3, RV000, Y00, Y02, YR20, G21, YG17. G82, C0, BV0000, RV10.

Another Tea Pot Tuesday Card...

This is another card I made for the Tea Pot Tuesday Challenge.  This card is actually a week late.  It's going to one of the tea potter's daughter, Deanna, and I wanted to be sure to get a card to her even if it is late.  Deanna has had a lot of medical issues...so please say prayers for her.  Thank You...

My card was made using a Stampin' Up embossing folder for the background (fancy fans)
Die-namics die to make my flowers,
and a Cheery Lynn die to make my vine...
added stick on pearls, and peel offs for the edge of my card.

Sugar Nellie...Winifred

This is another image colored by my husband with copics.  He used E00, E000, E0000,
R0000, G00, E51, R02, C00, R20, E41, C00, E39, E34, C3, Y11, E30, BG72, YG00.
The digi is from Funky Kits, Sugar Nellie image, Winifred.
He made the digi rather large so it's a 5 x 7 card.  He didn't want me to embellish it too much
so I just made a flower in the corner with my Die-namics die, colored the flower with copics to match the sweater, and added the vine with die from Cheery, Lynn, added some beads

Dynamic duos Challenge DD#21

This card is for this week's dynamic Duos Challenge, the colors for this week are Always Artichoke and Certainly Celery.
I used a Dream Weaver Stencil for my image, which I embossed with Matte Black Embossing Paste.Stencil #LG664.
I used Always Artichoke Cardstock for my background, and SU designer paper in Certainly celery. I added a ribbon which I colored with SU Ink in Always Artichoke, and added brads and doily cut with a die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

DD#19 Dyanamic Duos Challenge

I made this card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge DD#19.  You can find the link to the challenge here.

I tried to make a CAS card (Clean and Simple)  I failed!  My husband always tells me that I make too many layers on my cards...smile.  And Yes, I would like to learn how to make them with less layers, but I guess habits are hard to break.  I think this one only has about 6...smile. 
My card was made using Stampin' UP ink, and cardstock in Cajun craze, and Always Artichoke.
I used two different sets of Stampin' Up rubber stamps, an Old set (I think it was the second set I purchased, but it will always remain a favorite...Abundant Joy, The sentiment is from Bloomin' Beautiful.  The frame in the background was cut out with a die from CheeryLynn designs.(A2 Frame Die)  I added a ribbon, brads, lace, and a button.

I love Pink

I saw this digi image on another blog, and told my husband how much I liked it, and he purchased it and colored it for me. I'm not sure if I totally like what I did with the image, but I like the image so much that I will definitely try again...

I really like Thomas Kinkade images, so I was really saddened to hear of his passing.  This card is being posted in Tribute to his great work.  

My husband took many hours coloring this stamped image.  The image is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, the background paper is Thomas Kinkade from Memory Box, The Scripture Verse, (My favorite) is a rubber stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, The Die cut vine is a Cheery Lynn Die that I purchased from Our Daily Bread,  The bottom edge is punched with a EK success punch, my Ink is Memento Sweet Plum.

This card is for the "So Sweet" challenge at House Mouse this week.  The Challenge can be found here
This week the challenge is  to make a card with something "Sweet" on it.  I chose to use Hot Cocoa for my sweet, It's something I indulge in quite often...but I'm not supposed to, so please don't tell my Doctor...smile.
My House Mouse image was colored with copics, again by my husband.  He used E25,C3, W1, C5, G99, W00, E07, E19, E0000, RV00, T2.

I used a Cheery Lynn die for my background frame (Lattice 2 die)  I colored in the squares with copics, popped my image up with pop dots, and added a Jolee spoon in the corner (and the spoon is silver not black.  Some day I will learn how to adjust the colors.  I hope so anyway...smile.

In case you missed it, Yesterday, I had a wonderful surprise when I logged onto the House Mouse Web site.  I won the last Challenge.  I was stunned!  (ask my husband, how excited I was...LOL) Along with my prize, I have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer.  WOW!  What an Honor!  I'm a bit nervous.  I have trouble thinking outside the box.

And right now, it's still more of a challenge these days to make cards, because I still don't have my
craft room back.  I'm still digging through packed up boxes for my supplies.
