Sympathy card!

 I was trying out a technique that was on Splitcoast Stampers...that didn't quite work out..  But I do like this new embossing folder that I have...  so I will have to try again.

Trees

 I made this card for a challenge at Split Coast Stampers.  The challenge was to have trees on our cards.  This is a stamp from Our Daily Bread  Designs.  It is meant to be a graduation stamp ..but I think it makes a nice background for a sympathy card.

I'm still working on my Christmas cards.  I'm almost done, but till I get them in the mail.  They will be received late.  I hope I do better next year.

Happy Trails

 I made this sympathy  card for a very close family member of mine.  We kind of grew up together. He felt like a brother to me.

He loved horses and watching cowboy shows and playing cowboys.  He was one of the nicest people I know and always made me laugh.  I thought this card would fit him perfectly.

The inside reads  "Until We meet again!"

The card was made using fabric!

Orange Lily card!

 Yes, another card that my hubby colored for me.  Not sure who the image is from...I have more to post later.  And Yes, he spoils me... I'm a very slow card maker...so this does help me.... and he really does enjoy using his copics.

I made this card using a stamp from Simply Cards Magaine  Issue 148.  My sentiment was made using a stamp  by Sweet N Sassy, I die cut my side panel with a die sent to me by a friend (Thank you Em) and the lace die on the bottom of the card is from Sweet N Sassy.  I colored my image with copics, and added some pearls.

Sympathy card

I made the above card for one of my neighbors who recently lost her mother.

Today would have been my Mother's birthday...It's been 10 years since I lost her...

so ...while I was making this card I felt a little teary eyed for my neighbor,  and also for remembering what today was...

Sorry, I was trying to think of a way to make this post a bit more cheery...but I kind of failed.

I do feel a bit better lately that I am back making cards again.

It has definitely helped my morale  (ecept today...smile)

At least it was NOT another opressive hot day today.  I was definitely thankful for that.  I actually sat out in my favorite reading place (My back porch)  Reading while wearing a sweater.  A nice cool breeze was blowing.

My card was made using the Prized Peony designer paper, and die from Elizabeth craft, andSpellbinders (Gilded Gate)

Sympathy card

I needed to make a sympathy card.  I grabbed a stamp that I have from Our Daily Bread Designs to make the background.  I covered over the image with velum.  I heat embossed a sentiment on top of the velum.  Would you believe that after I made this card I could not find the stamp?  It walked off my table.  I looked everywhere for it.  Places I often find lost stamps are like under my score Pal, or stuck to cardstock, or somewhere on the floor, etc.  Hopefully it will walk back to my table sometime.  I definitely like using the acrylic and vinyl stamp the best.  Easier to store the stamps, etc.
But I have to say, it was rare when I lost a wood block stamp.  smile.

Pink Sympathy Card

My husband colored this image for me with copics.
I know that I have mentioned before how much he likes coloring with copics.
I have a folder full of images that he has colored.  I think that there are over 100+ images
in that folder.  I am way behind in making cards using them.  

I don't like to make sympathy cards but I needed to have some for my stash and I thought his colored flowers would work for a sympathy card.  He has no idea where he found the image.
I added some design paper that came with a crat magazine, and used a Elizabeth craft designs die to cut out my sentiment.

Comfort Card

I made this card using a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs.  It's meant to be a stamp mainly for a graduation card (and, in fact, I did make a graduation card using this stamp).  I also thought it would a good image to use for a Sympathy/and or Comfort card too.  Fortunately, I don't need to use one, at the moment, but I do like to keep some of these cards on hand.

Sympathy card made with Dream Weaver Stencil

I needed to make a sympathy card, and I went looking for an image to use that had been colored with copics by my hubby.  I had mentioned before that I have a whole book full of images colored by my hubby that I use for cards.  I am so behind in using them.  I thought that this image would be appropriate for a sympathy card.  I wanted to post the card before this but I could not find the STAMP that he used.  I finally realized that it wasn't a stamp but a stencil from Dreamweaver!

Cards I don't like to make...

I Always have a difficult time making Sympathy cards...so this one took me a while to make...
It was made by Stamping  Stampin' Up's lovely as a tree stamp.  (borrowed from a friend) Embossed a background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, (Tiny Mosaic) sentiment die cut with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. added a bow, peel offs, and brads.

Card made for my step-brother's widow...for the loss of her son, John (45 yrs old)
It's been less than three years since she loss her husband and now her son...

This card made me think of my Mother a lot today..because today  it's the Anniversary of her passing,  and it goes probably without saying...I still really miss her...

 While I was posting this card...I  was thinking about how her Step-Grandson has joined her and I can picture them in heaven chatting.  My Mother thought of my  Step-father's grandchildren as her grandchildren and so enjoyed their visits.

Sorry for the sad post today...

so I entered my card there.  I so rarely make a CAS card...   So this is my first time entering this challenge.  My goal for this year is to learn how to make more CAS cards, (mainly because of the high costs of postage these days)

Sympathy Card

I made this card for my husband to give to his cousin.  He lost his Mother this week.  (My husband's Aunt Betty)  Jim's Aunt had been ill for a while...but it's still always such a shock when it happens. 

This unknown image was stamped years ago, at a stamping get together that I went to, and it is probably one of my husband's first images that he colored.  (That's how far behind I am in making cards with all the images he has colored for me.
