Anniversary card

This is an Anniversary card I made for friends of mine.
The front of the card was made using a die that came with my new Gemini machine.  I was surprised at how well this intricate die cut in my new machine.  If I used my old machine I would have to run it through many times.
The inside of the card was made using a stamp from Stampendous.  My husband colored the flowers for me.  I cut the flowers out with the matching die, and used Glossy accents on the vase.  I ran (what I guess is supposed to be a doily on the bottom of the vase) Through an embossing folder.
I added a verse to the inside of the card.  It turned out so nice with the verse but I forgot to take a pic of it before I put the card in the mail.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...

My Sisters cards

My sister was finally able to come and make cards with me...

She liked all the sample cards that I made for her to choose from.  Her favorite was obviously the single rose card.  She gave me permission to post her cards.  I think she did a great job making her cards.  Keep in mind that this is someone that I have tried to get to come and make cards with me for a long time.  She told me she wouldn't be able to do it.  Wrong!  I think she did a great job on both cards.

The first card she colored with copics...

And the second card was made using a stampendous stamp!  It's for her granddaughter's 13the birthday.  I think I now have her hooked on card making.  She's already talking about coming next month to make a card for her daughter's birthday.

So much more fun when you have someone to make cards with you.  In fact my next door neighbor came over too to make a card.

Hope everyone has a great week.

and thank you for stopping by my blog.

Jill

My neighbor's card

This is a card I helped my neighbor to make for her husband's birthday.

She gave me permission to post her card.   It was made with a new stamp set I purchased.  (Stampendous)

Their two doggies (which I'm crazy about too...are like their children)  (I'm sure many of you can relate to that)

Tomorrow I hope to be able to finally sit down again and make some more of my own cards.

I am just so thankful that I can even type again.  More info than you might want to know....

Hubby had to take me to the ER because of the pain in my right arm.  (I could not even lift my arm without having a great deal of pain).  I tried typing on my blog, etc. with my left hand...and it was really slow going.

The good news for me is, obviously, since I am typing this... It means that my arm is doing so better.  Thanks to pain pills and an injection.

Now I need to catch up with my commenting again.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog

Blessings,

Carrie's Card

My husband colored  this image image for me to give to a very dear friend of ours.  He couldn't remember where he found the image but he did write down the copic colors.

G14, YG07, Rv10, Y12, RV12, RV13, BV34, BG000

My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous.

We had a nice Easter,  My hubby cooked (and as always it was a delicious meal!)  We then visitited with our daughter and her family.  Something we couldn't do last year because of the pandemic...so it was a special treat this year.

But we got some news that we didn't like to hear...so please add my family to your  good thoughts and prayers.  (I will give an update as we get one)

Barry's Truck

The last card I posted I made at the request of my sister...

This was at the request of my brother.  He asked me to make another card that he could send to my grandson.  My grandson recently joined the military and he will be soon moving to another base.

The truck on this card looks pretty much like my brother's truck.  It's a stamp by Stampendous.  (Called Truck friends)  My hubby colored the truck for me with copics.

I think my granson will recognize his Uncle's truck...

In the inside of the card..   The sentiment reads....

Is that your plane going over my truck?

One thing I really like about making home cards is how you can really personalize them.

CCEE2049 Wrapping Paper Challenge

I made this card for the CCEE Stampers blog where the last challenge  CCEE2049 (Yes I am late for this challenge) was to use wrapping paper to make a card.  I found the wrapping paper difficult to use.  I finally did apply the paper to double sided adhesive to make it easier to work with.  Since Our family has grown so much smaller and our grandchildren are grown ...they want gift cards or  Money (which is probably preferred) so I don't do as much gift buying.  So I don't have much wrapping paper.  This was the only paper that I had.

I made a center step card, and heat embossed a sentiment with gold embossing powder.  Sentiment is from Stampendous (Tis the Season)  I also used a die from Our Daily Bread designs for the lace border, and my snowflake embellishment is a die from spellbinder.  I added a ribbon and a brad.

Thank you for visitng my blog today

Jill

More poppy cards

 Click on cards to enlarge

I had posted a pink poppy card a few weeks back,  and now here comes my purple poppy card, and my yellow poppy card.
I used a stamp by stampendous...Pretty Poppies  CRS5096
colored the cards with copics.

I gave these two cards as Christmas gifts, I forgot to take pics of the little sentiment cards that I enclosed inside the cards. For each of the cards.  I made up three sentiment cards...each with a different sentiment, One for a Birthday card, one for a Sympathy card, and sentiment that could be used for everyday.  I put strips of removable tape on the back of the sentiment squares so that they could pull off the tape liner and put down which sentiment they wanted to use for their card.

Speaking of Yellow

I made the above card for a former classmate of my daughter.  We were talking at my daughter's Christmas party when I told her that I could not participate in some of the games because I have vertigo right now.  She asked how I got that because she told me that she had the same problem.  I told her how my hubby at to take me to the emergency room a few weeks ago because of it and some other problems.  I thought that when he took me to the emergency room that they would treat me, maybe keep me for the night!    But No, they kept me for a few days and while I was there....because of the dizziness, that I was feeling, I wasn't allowed out of bed.

My daughter's friend looked at me, and said "Did they give you the yellow socks?"
I said "Yes!"   And that's how I found out that was the code for me not being allowed to get out of bed.  When my mother was in the hospital she always came home with slipper socks but they were always blue or another color.  I don't ever remember her having "yellow" socks!

To me that was a perfect opportunity to make a personalized card for my daughter's friend.

I made the card to read...

The stockings were hung...

and on the inside

by the chimney with care.
knowing that there would always be
yellow socks to wear.

Hope she got a chuckle out of it.

Blessings,

and is wearing her yellow slipper socks.

Poppy card from craft night

 Card Inside
Click on card to make it larger
Front of card

I realized especially this past week...
How much I have missed my crafting buddies...
They really help to get me inspired to try making cards again.
It's been for a variety of reasons that we haven't been able to get together as much.  When we are able to get together I really appreciate how special the time is and, of course, how special they are.

This past week I called it project poppy, because three of us were coloring the poppy images.   I had these stamps with the matching dies for at least two years and they have just been  sitting in a drawer in my craft room.  I thought it was way past time they got used.

I colored my poppies with copics.
YG61, YG63, 100, N4, R22, R21, B91
My stamps are from Stampendous!
(Cling Pretty Poppies  CRS5096
I used an embossing folder that I borrowed from one of crafting buddies (forgot to write down the name) to mount my poppies to the front of the card.

This is a spirelli card that I made for a friend.  I have a spirelli punch that I used to cut out my
spirelli circle to  wrap my  embroidery thread around.  I layered it on top of a spellbinder's die  "Beaded Circles" added a brad and a ribbon.  My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous!

Easel card

I made the above card for my sister using Some "Freebie" embellishments from Paper Wishes.
My doily was made using a spellbinder die.  I added stickles to the ice cream cone. The sentiment was stamped with a Stampendous stamp.

I recently saw on the CCEE stampers blog...that they were showing fun fold cards...so it inspired me to make my ice cream card using an easel fold.  I really enjoy doing fun folds.  It doesn't take much to encourage me to make a fun fold.

Card for my Mother's friend!

This card is for a lady that had been my Mother's friend for over 60 years.  I think she misses my Mother almost as much as I do.  She did so much for my Mother, and I always try to make a special card for her each year.  She loves The Victorian look, so that's what I always try to achieve with my cards.

I again made a Twist and Pop card (this makes Number 7)
I used Paper Wishes Designer paper for my background.  I stamped my lady images using stamps from Grapic 45 and Rubbernecker stamps.  I die cut my lace using a die from Our Daily bread and my oval lace die is from MFTstamps (die-namics)  My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous!  I paper pieced my stamped images.

Twist and Pop card (Number 3)

As I said before, I am addicted to making these cards...smile...
The front of the card was made stamping a sentiment from Stampendous,
Using a Spellbinder die to make a frame for the sentiment (Fleur De Lis Squares)
Punching a lace border using a Martha Stewart Border Punch,
and to embellish my inside squares I hand cut out Cherries from my Designer Paper from American Crafts.

Birthday Twist and Pop card

As I said in my last post...I am addicted to making these cards.  I'm finding them fun to make.
I used designer paper that I purchased through Paperwishes to cover my card.  I printed out one of their free sheets that they offer on line...to embellish the inside of my card.  The embellishments on the front of my card are from Kaisercraft.  I used a stamp made by Stampendous to stamp my Sentiment...(Birthday Wish)

I posted a link on my previous post where you can find a link I used for the Twist and fold card.

Tuesday Card Making...

I was trying to clean out my craft room  (a lost cause)  smile.
Because, I clean it and then just mess it up again.
In the process of trying to do that...I found several cards that I had started but never finished.  So at least I managed to make unfinished cards into finished cards.

The above card was stamped in white versamark and then I water colored the image with my Stampin' Up aqua painter and Tim Holtz distress inks, added some glitter in the center, and a ribbon
The above card is one I had tried making a while back but the card fell apart, and I never fixed it.  I didn't want to throw away the ballerina doll so I decided to try and remake her on a different background.    Don't know who makes the stamp  but the stamp reads 2003  (yes it has been around for a while...smile.  I didn't even start stamping until about 2007.  So the stamp itself probably sat for a while before I even tried to use it).
Yes more side step cards...Images again are from Paperwishes.com
I used the tutorial from Spilt Coast Stampers

I recently had made one similar to this one with a different sentiment and different die cuts.
I like how the colors had turned out so I had to try another one.

My Grandson's birthday Card

This is the card I made for my grandson.  I absolutely can't believe he just turned 21!

Where did the time go?  It seems like it was just yesterday that  Chris was this sweet little boy
sitting on my Mother-in-law's Lap...
I am a little bias...smile...but I think he's still a sweet boy.  I know, he technically a grown "man" now...but aren't they always that sweet young boy in your heart?   He's still a baseball fan...he was back then and now too.
Found on Pinterest

My hubby has my computer fixed!  What would I do without him?
I have a lot of catching up to do...to make up for when I couldn't get on the computer.  I'm trying to catch with my commenting.

We have family in from out of state, so that has kept me busy too.  It has been so good seeing them.  It's been years!!!  Lots of catching up to do there too.  (They are visiting us from California)

Now as Darnell would say,  It's time for New Friends Corner...

First there is Janie,  Welcome Janie.  You have some very pretty cards on your blog...
Janie's blog can be found here...

And Becky,  Now Becky, is not new to me...I've been looking at Becky's lovely cards for a long time now.  They are all so beautifully done.  Becky, makes a lot of "comfort" cards.  Which is my favorite kind of card to make...I always hope my cards brings some comfort/and or joy to the receiver.
Here is the link to Becky's blog

And Donna,  Donna's blog is new to me, but I am so happy that I found her blog.  Not only does Donna have beautiful cards, she also  has lots of computer and crafting tips that I have already found useful.  Thank you Donna, and thank you for joining my blog.

Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...

I made this card for this Week's Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...TSC0228.
The Challenge for this week is water coloring.  The challenge sounds easy, well, maybe easy for someone who is used to water coloring.  The only water coloring I've done is in card class a few years ago.  But I kind of like when challenges make me think outside the box.
I used Derwent Watercolour pencils.  I stamped my Stampendous Rubber Cling Stamp (Jumbo Tiger Lily) in Versamark and then heat embossed with Stampendous embossing powder.  I used 3 Derwent colored pencils (Deep Vermilion 14, Orange Chrome 10, Deep Cadmium 6,) and blended the colors together using my mini mister and a paint brush.  I added a ribbon and a tag punched with Spellbinders Back to Basic tags.

Snow has covered
All the yard,
The bird bath's hard
With ice,
And this whole day
Is twilight-gray;

But twice
I've warmed myself
By simply knowing
Beneath all ice
Beneath each snowing,
Twenty crocus bulbs
Are growing.

Merry Monday #96

I made this card for Merry Monday #96
The Link for this week's Challenge can be found here
This week's challenge is to use Holly on your card!  The image on my card was colored with copics by my husband....R39,G29, G46, RG61, E30, E40, C1, C2, C4, C5...The stamp is by Stampendous.

I told  Jim  That the challenge focus was Holly, so He colored this card to suit the challenge, and made the Holly the focus, and colored the rest of the image with very soft colors in the background.  I really like the way he did this...

Valentine's card

My Hubby spent a good part of his day coloring this Heart Stamp from Stampendious yesterday.  I think he did a fabulous job with the colors.  I used two different spell binder dies to cut out the image, and a Stampin' Up embossing folder to emboss the background and added a bow.
The stamp is a Cling rubber stamp from Stampendous  Cherish Heart.  The copic colors he used are...
G24, G43, YG63, YG67, YG95, YG97, Rv02, RV14, RV25, R46, W1, Y38m BG01, Uni Ball Gel Impact Gold and Silver pens.
