Going Down Memory Lane

I have a couple of cards that I am working on...but they are not completed yet..so I thought in the meantime I would post some photos that I took back in 2013.

Wow!  I couldn't believe that these were taken so  many years ago.

These are books that I made for my two crafty friends (who would come to my house almost every week to craft with me back then).  (Of course, now we can't get toether to craft)  My HOPE is that will change this year.

Every year we would get together and discuss what word we picked for our word of the year, and how we HOPED to your our word.

We even made little gifts for each other using our words for the gift theme

My one friend, picked the word "STRENGH", and the other friend picked the word FOCUS!

The little books were made out of paper bags, and I left the last couple of pages blank so they could add their own thoughts, and pictures throughout the year.

One thing I Hope to do this year is repost some of the things that I have posted on my blog since 2009.  I can't believe that I have been blogging so long.

HOPE you enjoyed seeing my little trip down memory land...

Thank you for visiting my blog today,

Keep safe,

Jill

My Word of The Year

My Word for this year is...

HOPE

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness..."

This is the 8th year that I have chosen a word for the year.

In the past I have chosen

Faith

Joy

Focus

Breathe

Believe

Persevere

Bloom

Some years the word really worked for me...other years not so much..

The ones that worked the best for me were

Believe, and Breathe

Happy New Year.  Hope this is a better year for all of us!

Blessings,

Jill

My word of the year

For several years now I have been picking a word for the year.
Some past words have really worked for me such as "Believe" and "Breathe"
I had also picked the word" Joy", and then the word "Focus"
The word Focus NEVER worked for me...I always seem to think of it as Unfocused,
Unclear, etc.  (The way I was feeling at the time...)

I was having trouble picking a word for this year...so I googled Word of the year,
and a website came up that would help you pick a word of the year by answering a few questions.
The word that came up after that was     BLOOM!
(It made me wonder if everyone would be given that word...smile)

I then found a website that offered some free printables like the one I have posted above.
(Forgot to write down the link)  I'll try to post the link later...
anyway, I like the positive words on the poster, and I had fun coloring all those "Blooms!"

The link to the free printable that I used can be found here...
https://papercraftsecrets.com.au/

Coloring the free printable was very relaxing and very inspirational.  So I decided to try and make my first BLOOM card

My card was made using the wreathe builder technique.
I used a stamp that came with a magazine I had purchased.

"Simply Cards" Issue 191
I colored my blooms with copics...
and my sentiment is a PSX stamp
Stamped with Memento ink.

Remember "Good things are going to happen"
Thank you for stopping by my blog today
Blessings,
Jill

My craft room

This is a BEFORE picture (and sort of an after picture)

I took the pic last night after cleaning up ONE quarter of my room...

believe me, it looked a lot worse than this...LOL

I sent the real before picture to Kathy ....her blog link is below...
Kathy will tell you it definitely looked worse!!!!

I have never met Kathy (wish I could). She not only makes fabulous cards, she also

gives great organizational hints on her blog. She gave me a few for my room which I am trying to implement in my small space.

I need to get this whole room straightened up and purge as much as possible, so when our contractor comes in the next few weeks to fix my water damaged ceiling, broken window, and to put in a new floor, I have to move everything out of the room. The less I have in the room the easier it will be.

Last night, I literally had myself in tears because I had to throw out so many UFO's. But it is part of my problem, with my clutter, I start projects and they never get finished. I had to be honest with myself last night, and admit that I will never finish them and they had to leave the room. I was wondering...

How many Unfinished projects do you have?

Or are you one of those people who never start a project without finishing another project.

(to the people who never start a project without finishing another one...I admire your self control LOL)

This is also part of my One word, project, I want to BELIEVE that I can do it...(get my craft room organized.

Have a good weekend, everyone,

Blessings,

Jill

My "ONE WORD"

A few weeks ago, I happened upon this post on Rebecca's blog...

http://bellacarta.typepad.com/rebecca/

http://bellacarta.typepad.com/rebecca/2012/01/one-little-word-2012-take-2-.html

Rebecca found the idea from here at the link below...

http://aliedwards.com/2010/12/one-little-word-2011.html/comment-page-19

I thought it was such a neat idea that I had to give it a try myself...

My one word is below

Pinned Image

My above image (which I hoped showed up for you...had trouble posting it...)
I think I am out of practice with posting...It looks like I've only done about two posts
in the last couple of months...I feel like I have to learn all over again....smile...

http://pinterest.com/search/?q=Believe

This one word experiment has already been very powerful for me

I have myself look for quotes on the word "Believe" and then try to apply them to my

life. I really like the workshop idea, but I think I am going to wait till next year to try it.

I'm also finding myself looking for songs on Utube with the words believe in it...

Like the one below sung by Josh Groban

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT-sC33vB5M

It is a Christmas song, but I love the lyrics...

You have everything you need...If you Just believe...

"PS. I apologize for this strange posting. I can't get the underline to go away

and I can't get the font color to change for me... (I told you I was out of practice)

I'm sorry, I haven't been visiting your blogs as much lately. I hope to do better, and

do some blog commenting this weekend...

until then have a great weekend everyone,

Blessings,

Jill
