I finally made a card! I don't remember when I last did that.
I kind of cheated! I took an image that had been colored by my hubby a while ago, and I made it into a card.
I have previously mentioned that I have a whole book of images that Jim has colored. I need to do more. My card stash is almost depleted from me not making cards for so long.
I'm not sure which Sugar Nellie image this is. It was a digital image that Jim had purchased a while ago. I don't think you can still buy them.
I'm sorry that I have been missing in action. I guess my depression with all that is going on...contributed to my not making cards. Now we have this unbearable heat, so it felt good to sit at my dining room table and make cards instead of being outside in the heat. (I'm praying for all of those who have to work outside in it).
I have also been absent because we have been having internet problems...It's been going on for a while now. Usually my hubby can figure out what's wrong but this time he is stumped! We have difficulty getting on the internet, and then when we do we get logged off.
Obviously, tonight it let me get on...Not sure for how long...So if I disapear again...It might be the reason.
Thank you for visiting my blog today
Blessings,
Jill

Card made with Vellum
I went to visit Julia Stainton of "Belle Papier" to see what she has made lately and I found her beautiful card made with Vellum...so I thought I would give it a try. When I was finished with my card...I thought it might be eligible for the Case Study Challenge. (I don't remember entering this Challenge before)
Isn't the inspiration card beautiful? (Now, of course, I want that stamp. smile)
Here is my simple version. I used a stamp from SweetNSassy (Happy Place) I inked the stamp with Versamark, and heat embossed with WOW white embossing powder, and colored the back of the vellum with copics. Added a ribbon, and a sizzix die cut for my sentiment!
Recently, I went on Benzi's blog and I found this beautiful card that Benzi made

Recently, I went on Benzi's blog and I found this beautiful card that Benzi made
Benzi was inspired by a card she found here...
I don't think I did my card correctly. I need to go back and reread the directions...smile
(there's more comments to read and more directions in the comments which will probably be useful to me ... I have a difficult time thinking out of the box...so I need directions...
My card was made using a Sugar Nellie, digi from Funky Kits! The image was colored with copics by my husband!

I am so happy that I have two new followers...
Bibiana of
I have been following Bibiana's blog for a while now, and I am so amazed at her creativity. She is so good at giving step by step directions on how she makes her cards and projects, and has some great tutorial's on her blog. I have learned some great ideas and tips from her blog. Thank you, Bibiana, for the inspiration and for following my blog.
And Welcome to my blog, Jacee. of "Simply Paper"
Jacee's blog can be found here...
Jacee's cards are awesome. It takes me what seems like forever to make a card... And that is with mostly decorating just the card front!
Inside, I usually just put a simple sentiment...
Jacee, not only makes the cards look fabulous on the outside, she does it on the INSIDE too! and often with a matching envelope. "Wow"! Is all I can say! I am so impressed! I'm sure you will be too when You visit her blog. Thank you for following my blog too, Jacee. I am so happy to have found your blog (thanks to Darnell) You have so inspired me.

Cards for my Weekly craft night
I have mentioned before, that I am very fortunate to be able to get together every week with two of my craft buddies at my home. I so look forward to Thursday nights...
Usually it's mainly just to craft together, and do show and tell (feel like I'm back in school...smile)
We started doing something new...Once a month we take turns playing "teacher" and we do a monthly "Make and Take"
My first card, was the sample card I made for my "teaching" example. It's made with a herringbone background...you can find the tutorial here
I first saw it done on a card, at Carol's blog. Carol, uses this technique a lot on her cards, and every time I would see it, I would say to myself, "You've to learn that technique" Well, Carol, thanks to you I finally did it!!!! Yea!!! Since I have been fortunate enough to actually craft with Carol a couple of times, I may have actually seen one of her fabulous cards done in this technique in real life.
My card is made with a Sugar Nellie image, which I think is called "Sophie" It's one of the first images that my husband colored for me, so I've had it a long time...finally got around to making a card with it, and I not only made this for an example for my crafting buddies, Cherie, and Kathi,
I also made it for a challenge at Split Coast. The challenge was to make a card with a child on it.
My second card was for our Thursday night challenge, I was to make a masculine card. The only thing is I probably shouldn't have used flowered Designer paper as my wallpaper on the card.
The card was made using a 3d image (the clock) made from a 3d sheet that Cherie purchased for me.
Thank You for visiting my blog today...

Sugar Nellie...Winifred
This is another image colored by my husband with copics. He used E00, E000, E0000,
R0000, G00, E51, R02, C00, R20, E41, C00, E39, E34, C3, Y11, E30, BG72, YG00.
The digi is from Funky Kits, Sugar Nellie image, Winifred.
He made the digi rather large so it's a 5 x 7 card. He didn't want me to embellish it too much
so I just made a flower in the corner with my Die-namics die, colored the flower with copics to match the sweater, and added the vine with die from Cheery, Lynn, added some beads

More of My husband's coloring...
These images from Sugar Nellie, are some of his(My husband) favorite to color. This one is "Nathan"
The link to the images can be found here,
He used copics for coloring, and the colors he used are YR30, BG53, E00, E000, RV0000, E21, B97, B95,E44, C00, BG10.
I used my Grand Nestabilities Label 6 from Spellbinders to cut out the image . My husband bought me the Grand Calibur for me to cut out my Spellbinder dies (an Anniversary present) Today, I am especially glad that he did, because I cracked my plate for my Big Kick machine. Need to buy some replacements. If you saw how well "loved" my plates are...I think you would understand why this may have happened...smile...
I also used Stampin' Up designer paper for my background along with added brads, and ribbon.

For the Birthday girl
Made this card for a friend, I entered it in the Ways to use it Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...The Challenge is to make a card with either a child on it or one to give to a child.
The image was colored with copics, by my husband, and it's a Sugar Nellie digi that my husband purchased from funky kits.
I used Stampin' Up designer paper for the background, and Stampin' Up satin ribon for trim, along with lace for border
