Beautiful scene...

Another beautiful scene colored with copics  by my husband.

I thought I would also include a picture of my grand puppy.

My daughter and her family took her along with them when they spent a weekend at the beach.

Since they got her from a shelter two years ago...they have no way of knowing if it was first time at the beach or not.

They told me she absolutely loved it.

Christmas card Number 6

Christmas card number 6.   I did manage to get my goal of making 7 cards completed this week.

Just didn't get them all posted yet.  This was one of my favorites and, again, hubby did most of the work,    He colored this beautiful image for me with copics and  wink of stella pens.  It is so beautiful in real life.  The shimmer from the shimmery pens is awesome.

Hubby and I had a wonderful day today.  We don't eat out that much anymore...due to $$$$

If we do it's usually breakfast, but today we went for a late lunch at a very nice restaurant.  The food was awesome!  I even had desert which is something I don't usually do when we eat out.

Then he surprised me by taking me to craft store.   And yes, I shopped a bit.  I try to avoid them more these days because I still have a lot of supplies on hand, and a very dear friend is cleaning out her craft room and gifted me with some wonderful craft supplies.

We came home and received a call from two dear friends who asked if we were going to be home.

We had a nice, long visit.  It just made our day because is two friends that we really like and don't get to see too often.

We heard from our grandson.  so far, the typhoon has not hit where he is...they expect it to hit about Saturday to Monday.  Still on pins and needles with this...I'm hoping his base does every thing they can to keep all the soldiers safe.

Thank you for the kind Anniversary wishes and for the prayers for the safety of our grandson. They are much appreciated.

Thank you, for visiting my blog today

Tea Pot Challenge card

I made this card for this week's tea pot challenge at Split coast stampers.

I usd to do this challenge every week for a while and somewhere along the way I stopped.  You know how it is ...life seemed to get busy...  But I hope to get back on a regular basis it is such a worth while challenge.

This card is going to a fellow in Rhode Island.  I'm making it a thinking of you card.    I have never been to this state but my hubby has been.  He was stationed there when he was in the military.

I made this card using Stamps and dies from a Magazine.  I sponged the background with Distress Inks and also colored with copics.

Layered retiform Card

This is a card that I made for this week's Technique Lover's Challenge at Splitcoast stampers .

I have to honest ...I didn't do a great job with the technique...after 3 tries...(that didn't work)  I used my background paper as a frame for my card.  Your over supposed to layer your colors over each other.  I didn't do something right.  They all kind of turned out the same ...looking like mud.

So I did my own thing...smile

My stamped image is from SweetnSassy (Morning Glory)  I heat embossed it and colored it with copics.  and Used a die cut from Spell Binders to frame my picture.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

Every Chapter

I made this card by paper piecing the images...

I stamped this image and then gave it to my hubby to color for me. He colored it with copics. I definitely like the way he did his card better than mine.  I'm going to be a copy cat and color some more of this image using his for inspiration.  All I had to do with this card ...is stamp the image, and thenn put it on a card base.

My two favorite things to do is...

1. Making greeting cards.  (no surprise there)

2. Reading

I'm doing a disclaimer here...I am in no way getting anything for suggesting  this book (s)

This is one of my favorite authors...Irene Hannon.

The above series is, Christian fiction, Light Romance

I have read this series 2 times now...So far there is 7 books...Book Number 8 is coming out in April.  (and you know I will be buying it.)

The series is called Hope Harbor.   I like them so much because they live up to the series name...so Up lifting...   That's why I enjoyed them so much.  This author also writes Mystery/suspense books.

Anniversary card

Okay this is going to sound strange.  My hubby colored this image for me with copics.

I then made it into a card...

which I gave back to him today for our wedding Anniversary.  I didn't have time to make another card and I thought he might appeciate getting it back.

We didn't go anywhere special...  (we would almost always go out for a meal on our Anniversary...)

but with the way things are right now... We decided to just stay home.  It was a quiet day...but we enjoyed

The peace and quiet.

Friend's birthday card

My hubby found this image on the net.  Printed it and colored it for me to make my card.

I haven't put this card in the mail yet...but my friend doesn't usually look at my blog.

She obviously loves Horses.

After I took the picture, I relized that I need to fix the ribbon on top of the card.

Ever happen to you?  Happens to me all the time, after I take a picture of my cards I see some

mistakes I didn't notice before I took the pic.

Perfect Peacock

This is another image that my hubby colored for me to make into a card.
I just love his copic coloring  (I am not good at copic coloring)
It may be that I don't have much patience with it.

So all I had to do with this card...Is make a card base, and glue.

You might be seeing this same card on his blog too.

This fabulous image is an image from Stampin Up called Perfect Peacock
and the stamp was a gift to Jim from a generous friend of ours Em
(Em thank you again so much)  I forgot to get a link to your blog...
but a link to Em's fabulous cards is on my side bar.

Prized Peony in Yellow

Yes, Another card made with my Prized Peony goodies.  I told you there would be more.

I can't take too much credit for this card.  I made the card base, and stamped the flower.  My hubby colored the flower, colored the background with copics, and also used wink of stella on the bottom of the card where the lace is.

As I said before, He loves to color  using copics...but I also think he's bored since we don't go out too much these days.  But it makes me happy that he is helping me with the coloring....I've been able to get more cards done that way.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...
Hope you have a great weekend!

I finally made a card

I finally made a card!  I don't remember when I last did that.

I kind of cheated!  I took an image that had been colored by my hubby a while ago, and I made it into a card.

I have previously mentioned that I have a whole book of images that Jim has colored.  I need to do more.  My card stash is almost depleted from me not making cards for so long.

I'm not sure which Sugar Nellie image this is.  It was a digital image that Jim had purchased a while ago.  I don't think you can still buy them.

I'm sorry that I have been missing in action.  I guess my depression with all that is going on...contributed to my not making cards.  Now we have this unbearable heat, so it felt good to sit at my dining room table and make cards instead of being outside in the heat.  (I'm praying for all of those who have to work outside in it).

I have also been absent because we have been having internet problems...It's been going on for a while now.  Usually my hubby can figure out what's wrong but this time he is stumped!  We have difficulty getting on the internet, and then when we do we get logged off.

Obviously, tonight it let me get on...Not sure for how long...So if I disapear again...It might be the reason.

Yes, Another Bridge card

Yes, I'm still making Bridge cards.  I really like this fold.   The one thing I don't like about it is that It's difficult getting a good picture of the cards.  Then again It's probably me again.  I would not win any photography awards for my taking pictures.

The card was made using an image from House Mouse.  It was colored by my hubby for me.  He used 21 different colors.  I knew I wouldn't do this image justice and I wanted the card to look nice for my neighbor.  I thought the image would make a perfect card for a librarian.  She did seem to like the card, and the bridge fold.  In fact, when she came over to my house for craft night.  She started making a card using the bridge fold..

Sorry, that I have not been around too much lately.  I've been busy trying to finish up making my Christmas cards.  Every year I have this hope of getting my cards done and addressed and in the mail by Thanksgiving.  I have yet to achieve that goal.  Many times my cards have arrived AFTER Christmas.  So far, I'm doing better.  My Christmas cards are made, now I just have to address them.
Maybe...Just maybe, I will get them in the mail on time this year.

Pink Sympathy Card

My husband colored this image for me with copics.
I know that I have mentioned before how much he likes coloring with copics.
I have a folder full of images that he has colored.  I think that there are over 100+ images
in that folder.  I am way behind in making cards using them.

I don't like to make sympathy cards but I needed to have some for my stash and I thought his colored flowers would work for a sympathy card.  He has no idea where he found the image.
I added some design paper that came with a crat magazine, and used a Elizabeth craft designs die to cut out my sentiment.

Another tulip card

Yes, here I go again, another card made using The stamps from my card magazine.
I think I'm up to about 12 cards using this magazine.  I feel like I did get my Money's worth with this magazine.  I Colored my stamped image with copics.  My background paper is from Stampin' Up, added a doily and a ribbon...

Stained glass flower cards

Click on card to enlarge

I'm still enjoying using the stamps I found in the magazine that I purchased...
The one that I posted about yesterday.

I colored my images with copics.
(I'm not that great with using copics, so these cards have been giving me
some much needed practice).

The images remind of how our yard looked a few weeks ago.,
The one side of our house was a profusion of orange tiger lilies.
I wish I had taken a photo so I could have posted it here...

Anniversary card for a friend

Anniversary card made for a friend...   Because of all the cold, snowy, weather that we have been having lately,  I was trying to make a spring card.    I wanted my "Love Birds" to look like robins, but I think I failed, but my friend seemed to like this card.
I colored the SweetnSassy Love birds stamp with copics.
added a lacy die around my image made by Die-namics.
I added a ribbon and stamped my sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

More poppy cards

 Click on cards to enlarge

I had posted a pink poppy card a few weeks back,  and now here comes my purple poppy card, and my yellow poppy card.
I used a stamp by stampendous...Pretty Poppies  CRS5096
colored the cards with copics.

I gave these two cards as Christmas gifts, I forgot to take pics of the little sentiment cards that I enclosed inside the cards. For each of the cards.  I made up three sentiment cards...each with a different sentiment, One for a Birthday card, one for a Sympathy card, and sentiment that could be used for everyday.  I put strips of removable tape on the back of the sentiment squares so that they could pull off the tape liner and put down which sentiment they wanted to use for their card.

Speaking of Yellow

I made the above card for a former classmate of my daughter.  We were talking at my daughter's Christmas party when I told her that I could not participate in some of the games because I have vertigo right now.  She asked how I got that because she told me that she had the same problem.  I told her how my hubby at to take me to the emergency room a few weeks ago because of it and some other problems.  I thought that when he took me to the emergency room that they would treat me, maybe keep me for the night!    But No, they kept me for a few days and while I was there....because of the dizziness, that I was feeling, I wasn't allowed out of bed.

My daughter's friend looked at me, and said "Did they give you the yellow socks?"
I said "Yes!"   And that's how I found out that was the code for me not being allowed to get out of bed.  When my mother was in the hospital she always came home with slipper socks but they were always blue or another color.  I don't ever remember her having "yellow" socks!

To me that was a perfect opportunity to make a personalized card for my daughter's friend.

I made the card to read...

The stockings were hung...

and on the inside

by the chimney with care.
knowing that there would always be
yellow socks to wear.

Hope she got a chuckle out of it.

and is wearing her yellow slipper socks.

Finally getting some of my Christmas cards done

I'm finally getting some of my Christmas cards done and some also managed to make in the mail.

This is one card that I know was received.  My hubby colored the image with copics (that shows inside the card).  I wanted to add something more, the inside seemed so plain.  I didn't want to go overboard with embellishments ( like I sometimes do...smile)  because I'm trying to keep my cards as flat as possible this year so I don't have to put on extra postage like I usually end up doing.

The image was stamped using a SweetNSassy stamp.  The inside of the card was made using the same technique I used for the previous card I posted...(found the fold at Jennifer Mcquire blog).

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Hope to get back tomorrow to post some more...
Blessings
Jill
