SC897 sketch challengle

I made the above card for this week's sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

As I said before, sketch challenges always made me nervous....so I have NOT done too many of them.  This one now makes the 4th one that I have done there in 15 years...Pierced blooms die

They say practice makes perfect...so I think I have a bit more practice to do...

I used Stampin' Up's Pierced Blooms die to make the flowers. and A cuttle bus embossing folder for the background (Tiny Mosaic)

Thank you for visiting my blog today,

Embossing folders

I made this card for the Technique Lover's challenge at Split Coast Stampers.

The challenge was that you were to use two embossing folders on the same card.  It wasn't quite as easy as I thought it would be...but I finally did come up with a card using Distressed stripes, and Stylized flowers embossing folders made by Cuttlebug.

I have so many embossing folders that I have not even used...

so I am glad for this challenge... it made me get out the box that I had them in, and see if I could come up with something.  I am going to try to see if I can use some of the others later on.

It's going to be either use it...or lose it!  Smile.

Hunkydory card

This card was made using Hunkydory paper called Fancy Florals!

This card was part of my Christmas present from my hubby.  The paper that is...   Hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I showed him this paper that came along with a magazine for ideas on using it, and a matching stamp set.  He ordered it for me on line.

So far I have made 8 cards using it.

I made most of them this weekend...  It's cold outside and today it snowed so it was a pefect day to stay inside and make cards!!!

Yes, Another Christmas card

I hope starting tomorrow to make a card that isn't a Christmas card.

But as I said before...It's such a good feeling to know I am getting some cards done for my stash.

I made this card using a stamp from  Sweet n Sassy. (Baked for you)

I colored the images with copics, added some stickles to hopefully look like sugar sprinkles.  Then fussy cut them out.  My sentiment was made using a Penny Black Die.

Ginger bread cookies

I know you may not be ready to see more Christmas cards...

But I am so happy that Diane...of Diane's Country cards

http://ahlers5.blogspot.com/

told me about the On going challenge at Splitcoast stampers to make Christmas cards all year long.  (Then I won't panic as much at Christmas when all my cards aren't done)

This Month's challenge is to make Christmas cards with food and/or sweets on the card!

I  made my card using images from Paperwishes.com.

I fussy cut the images and put them on a side step card. I used some Glossy accents on some of them.  Stamped a sentiment using Sweet and Sassy stamp.

Time for The Green

Angie at SplitCoast Stampers wanted us to bring out the green for the Free 4 All challenge

Another challenge that I can't remember how long it's been since I entered it! (or if I ever entered a card in that particular challenge)

I made another Standing pop-up-card for my base.  I had some shamrock paper which I couldn't tell you how OLD it is...I finally found a way to use it.

.................................................................................................

...I may have told this story before... but here it comes again.  A few years ago for  my Mother's day gift from my daughter was that she purchased a DNA kit for me.   It was a very special gift because she knew how much it would mean to me.  I was adopted when I was about 3 (close to the age of 4) and there is so much about my background that I did not know.

So I was excited when I got my kit back to see the results and to realize that I am 15% Irish.  (After many years of celebrating St Patrick's day telling people that I was not Irish)

Card for spring

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast stampers.

The theme for this month's card was to make a card that would make you think of spring.

I am so ready for spring...(and some warmer weather)  so I was glad to see this challenge theme  that Jan asked us to do for March.

My card is a center fold card...and I used papers from Hunkydory to make the card  (Using Fancy Florals paper)

Pinwheel Quilt card

I made the above Pinwheel quilt card fot two challenges at Split Coast Stampers.  The one was the Technique Lover's challenge.  I have used many different techniques on my cards through the years.  I had not done this technique before.  I have been a member of Split Coast since 2007 and I was surprised to realize recently that I had only done two sketch challenges, and now I realize that I only entered the technique Lovers challenge 7 times.

The challenge I had entered the most was the Teapot challenges.  I have entered over 60 of those...  but I had stopped even doing those challenges.  I need to get back to all of those so I can be inspired to finally start using up more of my many years of stash that I have in my craft room.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...

Coffee anyone?

I love coffee!   I have a difficult time starting my day without it!

I think my splicoast stamper, buddy, Joan  (AKA) Ponygirl2)  Knows it.

She sent me a card using these cute images, and also sent me a kit she cut out so I could make a similar card to hers.  All I had to do was mostly glue it together.  Hubby colored the wine glass image for me.  Thank you Joan,   And thank all of you who come to visit me at my blog.  (And leave such nice encouaging thoughts).  I so appreciate all of you.

Blessings,

Jill
