I'm back

I'm back, I wasn't away that long...almost two days, but it felt much longer to me...smile.  My Internet was down, and I was LOST without it.  I'm just too addicted!
While the Net was down, I made two cards, the first one, is a "Precious Moments" image that my husband colored for me with copics.  Not sure where it is from, because he colored it for me ages and ages ago.  He can color images much faster than I can make cards with them.
The second card was made with paper that came with my Quick Cards Magazine, and I made my card using an example in the magazine.
The card is going to my grandson in college, he tells me that he really likes the fact, that I am sending him some of my home made cards.  I'm trying to send them with an encouragement theme.  He tells me that school is a real challenge (He's a Chemistry major)  It sounds tough to me.

Cards from September Stamp Night

I had a great weekend, Besides enjoying our lovely weather, I got to enjoy a nice breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants.  It was my hubby's birthday so his breakfast was free!  And recently, I attended my Monthly stamp night and these are the cards we made.  I gave the first card to my husband for his birthday.  As soon as he looked at the card, he knew why I gave him that particular card.  The stamped image on the card looks so much like the swing he made for me as an anniversary present a few years ago.
All supplies, stamps, card stock, etc are from Stampin' UP, except on the first card the sentiment was stamped with a stamp from SweetNSassy.

DD#19 Dyanamic Duos Challenge

I made this card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge DD#19.  You can find the link to the challenge here.

I tried to make a CAS card (Clean and Simple)  I failed!  My husband always tells me that I make too many layers on my cards...smile.  And Yes, I would like to learn how to make them with less layers, but I guess habits are hard to break.  I think this one only has about 6...smile. 
My card was made using Stampin' UP ink, and cardstock in Cajun craze, and Always Artichoke.
I used two different sets of Stampin' Up rubber stamps, an Old set (I think it was the second set I purchased, but it will always remain a favorite...Abundant Joy, The sentiment is from Bloomin' Beautiful.  The frame in the background was cut out with a die from CheeryLynn designs.(A2 Frame Die)  I added a ribbon, brads, lace, and a button.

He used copics for coloring, and the colors he used are YR30, BG53, E00, E000, RV0000, E21, B97, B95,E44, C00, BG10.
I used my Grand Nestabilities Label 6 from Spellbinders to cut out the image .  My husband bought me the Grand Calibur for me to cut out my Spellbinder dies (an Anniversary present)  Today, I am especially glad that he did, because I cracked my plate for my Big Kick machine.  Need to buy some replacements.  If you saw how well "loved" my plates are...I think you would understand why this may have happened...smile...

I also used Stampin' Up designer paper for my background along with added brads, and ribbon.

Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for a friend using lots of dies, Die-namics Prima Donna Petals for the flowers, memory box die for the background, and cuttlebug embossing folder for the flower pot, and an ek sucess punch for the lace border...background stampin' up designer paper...sticker for sentiment, added a ribbon and stick on beads...

More Christmas cards

I made a couple more Christmas cards...I have more hand made Christmas cards done to this point than I have ever done before. Maybe, just maybe, I will get my cards finished, addressed and out on time this year. That would be a first! smile...

I used my Spellbinder cut and fold for these two cards, it made it much easier to make my cards. To think I used to do this with my 'Lace stencils, and take hours and hours cutting out with an exacto knife. This is so much easier and faster, and I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers...(sorry if that was too much info)
I rubber stamped my first one with my crochet background stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, and used a ek punch for the lace trim, I then stamped with versamark my snowflakes, embossed with kaleidoscope embossing powder it gave it a sparkly look, and I used white ep to stamp my sentiment.
The second card was made with the same cut and fold spellbinder die, cut it out with Stamping' Up dp, and a sticker for the sentiment.

Dynamic duos Challenge DD#18

I made this card for the Dynamic duos challenge DD#18. The challenge is to use the colors of Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade. I saw that this week's challenge colors looked like Christmas colors, but I wanted to go in a different direction...but Plan A did not work out, so I ended up with Plan B, which turned out to be a Christmas Card...but that's Okay, I have been trying to get my Christmas cards done early this year...so this works for me....smile...

I made the flowers on my card using a new die that I just purchased...
Die-namics Prima Donna Petals from mftstamps.com. I really like the flowers that this die makes. The flowers are easy to make, and though they are shaped and pop up...they don't have a high dimension which makes them easier for mailing. I punched out the die along with my Spellbinder die Fleur De Lis Squares, and my vine die, with my big shot. My Card stock is from Stampin' Up, in the colors of Poppy Parade, and Lucky Limeade,

Operation write Home, Challenge card

I entering this card in a challenge for Operation Write home. The link to this challenge can be found here along with instructions on how to do triple time stamping. I have seen this card a lot on split coast stampers card forum. I kept meaning to try to do one in this technique and post it...and, at last, here it is. I like the technique, but I wish I used colors that popped a bit more, I need to try this again, and I will it's easy to do.

My stamped image is a stamp from SU, since I borrowed the stamp, I'm not sure of the name of it. I do know my ribbon is from SU and certain celery...does that count? LOL

Our Anniversary dinner

It's a rainy kind of day today where I live, so I am spending the day trying to make cards...which, so far, haven't gone too well...So I needed a break, so I thought I might try and post some photos of our anniversary dinner. (The Restaurant gave me permission to take photos)

I have been blogging for a number of years and I STILL DON'T know how to do it...
I guess one of these days I need to sit down and play more and try and figure out what I am doing...smile...

I posted some pics from our dinner, and they are not in the order I intended...but that's okay, don't we want to start with dessert first anyway?


I don't usually eat dessert when I go out to eat, but being that it was our Anniversary, I wanted to treat myself. I had a hard time trying to make up my mind between the peach tart, or the Chocolate banana cream pie. I finally decided to take a piece of the chocolate banana cream pie home with me. I was going to just eat half, and save the other half for the following day. NO, that did not happen. I sat down to eat the pie, and ate the whole piece in one sitting. It was too good to stop.
I enjoyed watching my husband trying to eat his appetizer with chop sticks...(he needs more practice. smile...
We were the very first ones to arrive when the restaurant opened so it was great to take a pic of the room, and our table.


Thank you for the nice Anniversary wishes I received, it turned out to be a very nice day.
