I'm back! I know you didn't even know that I was gone! smile!
I've just returned from a several day trip to Virginia. (Hot Virginia!) I'm told it was also very hot in my home town, but it was even hotter where I was on vacation. We stayed at a B & B without the A/C working. I don't have Central Air at home, but we do have one little window A/C which I wish I had at the Inn we were staying. The A/C did get fixed but not until after we stayed in a very warm room for a while. Our Inn keeper did go buy a fan for us and it did help. The pic above shows one of the things we like to do on vacation...visit book stores... This is a pic of the Green Valley Book fair in Virginia.
We also visited Books-A-Million, it's a store we had never been in before...and yes we bought books at both book stores.
This is where we spent some of our time on vacation. I like the view from the screened in back porch. (Where you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background) But with the heat we didn't spend as much time there as we would have liked to. (I like eating breakfast on the porch! It was way to hot for that!)
The above picture shows another place I visited while in Virginia. This was the high light of my vacation. I think I mentioned on this blog before, that I live only a few miles from an A C Moore store, Joanne's and Michaels. But I had never been to a Hobby Lobby before...I really liked the store. Wish I would have had more time to spend there. (But then again, I may have spent even more money than I did...LOL)I took some craft supplies with me on vacation, but I really didn't have much opportunity to craft, Or much opportunity to be on a computer. I have a lot of catching up to do with both my card making, and visiting every one's blogs.
Hope everyone is having a good summer so far, and Keeping cool! Blessings, Jill
WB from vacation! Glad you had fun :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you were! I got to my first Hobby Lobby last winter, and I agree, it's wonderful! They have so many brands that our AC Moore and JoAnn's don't have. It was the first place I've ever seen Graphic 45. I spent way too much money there!
ReplyDeleteI wish your vacation had been cooler, that's a lovely porch.
Welcome back!
What a lovely place to holiday at - just a pity it was so hot and the A/C didn't work properly :-(. i would love to be able to visit a Hobby Lobby - could be expensive though, I suspect :-)

Sounds like you had a great time, eventhough it was very hot.
ReplyDeleteRoaming though bookstores, sounds like my favourite outing too.
So glad you enjoyed your vacation even though it was so hot.
ReplyDeleteI do love Hobby Lobby. My daughter has one where she lives and I don't. So it's always a treat going in there. Love the home decor items. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the kind messages.
Hugs...Leanne
Your vacation sounded like fun. The heat has been high here. I think it was 99 today. We have A/C in our house so we are loving that (even our little dog) We don't have Hobby Lobby here either. So I would like to visit one day too.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! It was TERRIBLY hot in VA and here in NC!!! Very unusual for it to be that hot this early! The B&B looks beautiful and I'm so sorry you weren't able to enjoy it more but it looks like you had fun at the book stores and craft store! That's all good too!!! Hope you are cooler now!!!:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great vacation, with an HL wrap up! Glad you are back! Missed you! Hugs, lymi
ReplyDeleteHi JD! This looks like the Hobby Lobby I go to in Winchester VA which is fairly new and I LOVE it! I have to limit my visits though because it is just too tempting to make many purchases. Yes it has been unbelievable hot in this area - cannot wait for Fall. Glad you had fun - Sincerely, Jeannette
