Birthday Card!

I made the above card for Carol of...
http://ourlittleinspirations.blogspot.com/

Since she kindly let me know that she received her card...
I can post it now.  This is another card that my hubby colored for me using copics.  (Not sure where he found the image)

Carol, you may be about the only one who received one of my cards on or before their actual birthday.  I did not do well this year.  Most of my cards have been late or never even made it to the mailbox.  Hopefully, I'll do better from here on in...
How did life get so busy?

If you have the chance stop by and wish Carol, a Happy Birthday!

Thanks for stopping by my blog...
Blessings,
Jill

At Last I'm posting again...

Oh where does the time go...
I can't believe that it's been almost a month since I last  posted...
Anyway...below is the card that I made for my husband's birthday!
Which is today...

I know it's kind of a strange card...
But my hubby seemed to like it.

I got the inspiration for the card design from a magazine
(no longer in print)  Card maker magazine.
I think my Iris folding got a little wonky in this card.

If you have a chance could you please stop by his blog and wish him a Happy Birthday.

https://irishdreamweaver.blogspot.com/

I know that his birthday is almost over...
but we were away for the day and this is the first chance I had to post his card.

We managed to go to a restaurant that will give you a free meal on your birthday.  It is usually about a 45 minute drive from our home.  Today we could add about another 30 minutes to our drive due to all the detours that we had to take getting there.  Lots of bridges and roads out...some being repaired others may be because of all the rain that we have had this summer.

When I think about the inconvenience of that...I also think about about all the hardships the people are experiencing in the Carolinas right now due to the weather.  My heart and prayers go out to them.

This was one of the walk ways at the restaurant.
It just looked so pretty to me today...walking under all those trees.

Card made for this week's Featured stamper Challenge

Click on card to Enlarge picture

I made this card in honor of this week's featured stamper at Split coast Stampers.."NerdyBeth"

This is the card that I cased
https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2367720?&cat=500&ppuser=157841

I like how Beth used her Designer paper in the background
( I used Graphic 45 on my background.  Beth mentioned in the comments that the image she used on her card was the very first Stampin' Up image that she had purchased.
It made me think back to which stamp was my very first stamp that I purchased through Stampin' Up and it was the "Chef" stamp.  I purchased it to make cards for my hubby (who is a great Chef) (In my kitchen)
I showed this card to my husband and he said "It looks like he's wearing Fish net Stockings!"  I guess he does, now that I took another look on the card.  Oh well, I hope I get an A for effort.

I made this caard with Graphic 45 paper for my background, and paper pieced my stamped image...

Card made for This week's Feature Stamper Challenge

Click Picture to enlarge

I made this card for this week's feature Stamper Challenge at Split Coast Stampers..
Dani D is this week's featured Stamper.  She has a lot of wonderful cards in her gallery.
This is her card that I chose to case...

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2799541?&cat=500&ppuser=155555

If you looked at Dani's card...You will see that my card does not really look anything like her lovely card.    But her card, sure did inspire me to take out this stamp set (from TPC Studio)
The stamp set has occupied space in my craft room for quite some time.  Until last night,
the stamp set had not touched ink.

After my long dry spell where I could not seem to  get inspiration to make even one card.
I challenged myself to get back into crafting by using a 12 X 12 pack of designer paper (Used it down to snippets of paper left)   That Challenge worked for me.

My new challenge for this month is to use rubber stamps that have yet to see ink.
Well now there is one less stamp set in my craft room that has NOT seen ink...
Hopefully, I can follow through with challenging myself to use more UNUSED stamps.
And as Darnell would say NBUS stamps.

Card for this week's Featured Stamper

I made this card to case this week's featured stamper at Split Coast Stampers.

Here is the card that I cased from Jenny's gallery..
https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2873679?&cat=500&ppuser=430631

I liked Jenny's card layout...It's one that I will definitely use again...

My card was made using Boo Bunny Designer paper.  I fussy cut out a flower from the designer paper.  I stamped my sentiment using a stamp from SweetNSassy.

I needed to make a sympathy card and I knew Jenny's layout would work for my card.
I also made a matching memory bracelet to go along with the card.

Hope Jenny enjoys her week as featured stamper.  I know that I did last week...I think I still feel like I'm 6 feet off the ground.

Okay, Carol, thank you for the nice comment on this card... and I tried to enlarge this picture so you could see it better..

I always thought that if people clicked on my photos they would get larger for them...am I wrong?

3d card

I made this card for my dear crafting buddy, Kathi...
It's a 3d card.  This is one of the techniques that I started me card making.  When I was on the Circle of Crafters forum (Now, it's sadly closed)  This was one of the most popular techniques.  A lot of people would share 3d sheets that you print.  The one thing with the sheets is that it required a lot of fussy cutting.  Fortunately, it's one thing that I like to do.  However, this card above was made with a sheet that I purchased at a craft store.  One of the advantages of this craft sheet is that I did NOT have to fussy cut.  Just pop the pieces out of the sheet and layer them with dimensionals in between the layers.  Obviously, my friend Kathi has cats...smile.

This is a spirelli card that I made for a friend.  I have a spirelli punch that I used to cut out my
spirelli circle to  wrap my  embroidery thread around.  I layered it on top of a spellbinder's die  "Beaded Circles" added a brad and a ribbon.  My sentiment was stamped with a stamp from Stampendous!

Stained Glass Technique

Anniversary card for my neighbors.  It's not the greatest pic...but I already given them the card so I can't take another picture.  I made this card using the Stained glass technique.  I had made a card using that technique a few weeks ago and posted the card at Split Coast Stampers...until I posted my card there...   I didn't realize the name for this technique...  So here is the directions for making a stained glass card.
https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/stainedglass1/

My card was made using a stamp from SweetNSassy...colored with copics.  added an oval cut out with a lacy die and added ribbon and lace.

Made this at my class yesterday

I made this necklace at a beading class yesterday.  This was my very first beading class.
I really enjoyed myself.  It was held at a big box store, by an instructor who told us it was her very first class.  If she hadn't told us that....we would have never known.  She was really
good, and I learned a lot.  She didn't seem to mind answering my million questions...smile.
If you're reading this Cynthia...Every word is true...(she might be reading this post because I gave her the link to my blog...smile.)

I have made one other necklace from a beading kit...and my Thursday night buddies helped me with making it.  ( With Cindy's instructions...I did make more of this by
myself).  Thank you Cindy...It was a fun class, and I am signing up for me...
