Dreamweaver Challenge

Not sure if I'm in time for the Dreamweaver challenge or not...If I am it's a last minute addition  LOL.
The Challenge at Dreamweaver for the month of January is "New Beginnings"  I struggled with this theme.  Could not think of anything that I could do that would match the stencils that I had.  Then yesterday, my crafting buddy, Kathi, comes to my house to craft, and I mentioned that to her...She told me to get my stencils and see if there was anything there that I could use.  She looked at my stencils and came up with several ideas.   I then asked her, if along with using some of her supplies, if I could have her brain too, because she is obviously, a lot smarter and more creative than I am (But then I already knew that!)  Thanks Kathi,

 after My friend, Kathi,   left, I tried to think outside the box, which is tough for me, and thought about using the butterfly stencil.  The Butterfly represents  'New Beginnings"  Change.  So I thought this should work.  My card was made for a long time dear friend.  I met my friend when our daughter's were just a year old.  She and her husband were renting the unit next to ours.  She was a great neighbor, and I have often told her that she kept me sane for the two years that I lived next to her.  Her husband worked second shift just like mine did, and also like me, she didn't have a car to use.  So with a small child, the walls can seem like they are closing in, but being able to get together with my friend living right next door with a small child the same age as mine....worked out really well. 

Without boring you anymore....there's more to the story, but to make a long story short...
The symbol for our friendship is the "Butterfly"  I have been sending her cards for many years
and I try to always have a butterfly on the card somewhere.  I have put butterfly stickers on, made her different rubber stamped cards, Iris Folding, butterfly, etc.  I hadn't sent her a butterfly made with a stencil and embossing paste.  The stencil I used with White embossing paste is LG740.  I used two different colors of glitter to emboss the butterfly.  The card in real life looks so pretty with the shiny blue glitter embossing powder.  In my photo...NOT SO MUCH!  Bad photograph...sorry. 
Besides making this card for the Dreamweaver Challenge.  I also made it for a challenge at
Split Coast Stampers...I was to make a card with two colors of blue, an embossing folder (my border is embossed with Stampin' Up's lattice folder.  Also I was to have a die cut.  My border is die cut with a die borrowed from my friend, Kathi,  Added a bow, and some die cut corners.

Teapot Challenge Card...

This is my card for this Week's teapot challenge at Split coast Stampers.  This is the week that we exchange cards.  So this card will be going off to a fellow teapotter in the Teapot group.
I made my card using the Stampin' Up Doily Die, I stamped it in versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment with a Just Rite Stamp,  'Just the Right Words."  I stamped in versamark, and heat embossed the words with Ranger Black Ultra fine embossing powder. I cut out the circle with a Spellbinder Lacey Circle Die, I Used a Die borrowed from a friend for the background (therefore, I'm not sure of the name of the die)  I used Love Notes Designer black and white paper, brads, and added a ribbon.

I am adding this card to the JustRite Anything goes Challenge this week.  You were to name your favorite stamp set.  My favorite stamp set is the one I used here.  "Just the Right Words".  So many neat words on one stamp to use for your sentiment.  Besides,  Amazing, there's beautiful, Talented, Unique, Gracious, Just a to name a few of the words on this stamp...the challenge can be found here

Twisted Sister Challenge

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers...For the challenge we were to make a card for a teenager, and use 3 layers/3 different shapes.  Couldn't remember which it was, but I know I have at least 3 layers, (lots of layers aren't a challenge to me...LOL.  It's the one layer cards that are a challenge to me.
For Christmas I received two new Spellbinder dies (from My hubby...that I picked out)  My card uses the Spellbinder Marvelous Squares die (S4-383), and The Lacey Circles die (S4-293)  I also used my new Dreamweaver Silhouette Stencil (LL3017)  I used Black embossing paste on my stencil and used beads to make a necklace.  My designer paper is from Stampin' Up and I added a bow.
Not sure how of a Teenage theme card this is...but I will be giving it to my granddaughter.

Yesterday, when I logged onto my blog...and started blog hopping I found this...at Dynamic Duos.
My card entry won an honorable mention.  I was over the moon!  I told my husband that he might have to perform CPR.  I got that excited.  Thank You Dynamic Duos team for selecting my card.
It definitely made my day!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  For me it's a great weekend to stay indoors and make a card...too cold to go out...

House Mouse New Beginnings challenge

 This the card I made for the "New Beginnings" Challenge at House Mouse.  At first I couldn't think of any image I had that would work for this challenge, and then I saw Tracy's card which inspired me

 The flowers in the Pic above is a treat my husband gave me, over the weekend, I just remembered to take a pic today,  so they are starting to get a bit wilted, but I still think they are so pretty,  notice the color.  My favorite color!  No, it is not my birthday, nor is it our Anniversary.  I guess he gave the flowers to  me because he likes me...smile.

Dynamic Duos Challenge card

I made this card for this week's Challenge at Dynamic Duos...the challenge can be found here

My card was made using a Stamp by North Woods Rubber Stamps, I stamped my image with Versamark, and heat embossed it with Ranger Black Super Fine Detail embossing powder, I colored my flowers with copics.  I dry embossed my background with the Stampin' Up fans embossing folder, I added a Ribbon, and a charm.

Get Well Card

I made this card for a Challenge at Split Coast Stampers..We were challenged to make a Get Well Card...we were Not allowed to use PINK...check no pink (my favorite color)
we were to make a card that would be suitable for a man or woman (I missed that part)  Obviously, My card would be more suitable for a woman.
and add a flower...forgot that too...smile
I hope the Challenge police don't come after me.

My card was made using a Dreamweaver stencil (the Umbrella)  I paper pieced the umbrella with Stampin' Up Designer paper.  My background Designer paper is called Love notes, from Fancy Pants!  the Rubber boots is a stamp from Hampton Arts, I used Dimensionals to pop Up my image, and added stick on beads.  My sentiment is computer Generated.

Cute Snowman

 Isn't this the cutest snowman?  I can't take credit for creating it, one of my Bestest Crafting buddy created it for us for our craft night get together.  I'm not quite sure what all it is made out of, (must get the recipe) I do know the main ingredient is cream cheese.  I can tell you that it tasted as good as it looks.  Thank you, Kathi.http://katscreativebliss.blogspot.com/..

Thursday night, Cherie showed us a new craft.  I have never done quilling before, but it was on my to do list to try (actually on last year's to do list...I'm a little slow).  So this tag may not be perfect, but I like the way it turned out.  It's my first try at quilling, and I don't think it will be last.  I know I need a lot more practice.

Second Paper Bag book

 The First two Pages of my book...The photograph is from scrapbook paper, and a dragon fly embellishment on the side...

Next two pages of my book...the page was made using a Darice Embossing folder, and Stampin' Up Designer paper for the background,   I die cut the leaves, and tucked in a tag in the pocket.

I also left some blank pages for Cherie to add her own quotes..  I tried to use Cherie's Motivational Word on my pages in the book, her word is"Strong"

Paper bag book Made for a friend

 This is the front cover of the paper bag book that I made

 This is the first two pages of the book, the picture of the three ladies is supposed to represent my two crafting buddies and myself...Sure,  Well, we can hope can't we?  The two of them have been really good with their exercising and watching what they eat...so they have a good chance of looking like that...me, on the other hand...NOT!

 Both Kathi and I picked the same word this year as our Motivational word FOCUS!
So I had to make a page for her word.

I also left a couple of  the pages blank for her to add her own quotes, etc.

I made the above book as a gift for my friend, Kathi, to thank her for the wonderful Christmas gifts she gave me this year.
