Snowy day

I managed to get a lot done with the snowy day today...
My three favorite of the 10 cards I made...
The snow we had to today, inspired me to make some Christmas cards.  Besides the snow for inspiration I used the paper pad that came with my Cards and Papercraft magazine.  I also cased some of their examples, and made some of my own...
Most of my supplies that I used are from the Hot off the Press paper that came with the magazine, and I added a few embellishments of my own, stickles, brads, dimensionals, ribbon etc.
I don't usually manage to get this much done in one day, maybe I need more "snowy" days...NOT!
The magazine sample cards were actually square cards...I am a big fan of square cards, I like the look but not the extra postage, so I changed the size of mine to A2 cards.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Hope you are having a nice weekend.
Happy crafting to you...
Blessings,
Jill

Dynamic Duos Challenge #43

I made this card for two challenges.  The first challenge can be found here...

The challenge is the ways to use it challenge WT417, Poke a hole.  I enjoy doing paper piercing, but I often don't think about adding it to a card.  I was happy for the reminder...

The second challenge is the Dynamic Duos challenge.  This is for challenge #43.  The colors to use for this challenge are pool party,  and Lucky Limeade.  The link to the challenge can be found below.

I made my card using a flower that I fussy cut out of some Designer paper from Stampin' Up.
I cut my flower pot from a spellbinder die, and dry embossed it with a stampin' Up embossing folder.
I punched my lace border with a Fiskars punch (sunburst)  I added brads, and a ribbon.

Casing Sabrina's card

Last year I received a beautiful card from Sabrina...Cook on Split Coast Stampers.
This week I finally cased  her beautiful card.  I like Sabrina's card better.  Her pretty Daisy on the bright colorful background is so much better made than mine...
Below is my take on the card...

Above is the front of my card...
This is the inside of my card...
 The front of Sabrina's card...
The inside of Sabrina's card.

It was such a nice surprise receiving Sabrina's card in the mail...especially since it was the first time that I had ever received mail from Ireland.  My card came a long way...Didn't she do a beautiful job?
I especially like the bird inside the card.  I may have posted this on my blog before...but It definitely deserved a second look.  So now, that I have made one of these card folds...I can appreciate how much work she put into making my card...
The tutorial for this card can be found at Split coast stampers  here

I don't think that Sabrina has a blog...but you can see her work here

My card was made with Designer paper from Stampin' Up and the flowers were cut out with a Spellbinder die...Blossom 3, My rubber stamp is called Friends and flowers.  I stamped the image with versa Mark, and heat embossed with brown embossing powder, and decorated with a brad, ribbon,a and a cuttlebug die...

Another card for a Split Coast challenge

I made this card for the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast.  It was my turn to give the challenge this week.  I don't like to make sympathy cards, but it seems I have needed many of these this past year, and I usually don't have them on hand.  I wanted to have a card to keep on hand (and hope I DON'T need it)
My husband colored the image for me with copics.  I'm not sure who the image is by, because I think this is another image that was stamped at our local stamp store, a while back.
I have a book that is filled with images that my husband colored for me, I am trying to finally use them in my cards.  He can color the images much faster than I can make the cards...smile.
I added a ribbon, and brads, and the background was made using a spellbinder die...The sentiment is from a stamp by SweetNsassy stamps.

Birthday card for a friend

My husband colored the image for this card with copics...The image is unknown, I think this was stamped at a stamp get together at my Local stamp store...a few years ago...That's how long it has taken me to get around to making a card with this image...Not that I'm slow or anything...LOL.
The image was cut out with a Spellbinder die...Marvelous square , and my background was embossed with a cuttlebug die...(Tiny Mosaic)   added a silk flower and a vine cut out with a die...

My husband's FIRST card!

Those of you who have been on my blog before...know that my husband colors most of my images with copics.  With this card he not only colored this beautiful card with copics...he also made it into a card by himself.  HIS FIRST CARD!  I might be a bit bias, but I think he did a great job...

the image is from Minna's blog...("Imagine and Do")

Dynamic Duos #42

I made this card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge DD#42...The Colors are Garden Green and Daffodil Delight...I didn't have the exact Stampin' Up colors, so I hope my yellow and green count.
This is a technique I've done before, I first saw a card using this technique at Split Coast stampers...
I wasn't able to find the link where I found the tutorial...so I hope I can insert that later.
I like it because it's a great way to use up your scraps...
I used mostly Stampin' Up products...My stampin' Up Pennant punch, and my sentiment was stamped with a Stamp from stampin' Up from the Take Care set.  Added a ribbon.
The link to the challenge can be found here

I'm ready for spring!

I made this card for three challenges.  The Twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast Stampers...
The challenges was to make s "spring" card and add buttons on the card.  The bird on the card is definitely spring...and I'm ready for spring to come.  It's my favorite season.

The second challenge that I am entering this card in is The House Mouse Challenge  "Things with wings"  The challenge is HMFMC139, and it can be found here

The third challenge entry is Word Art Wednesday's anything goes Challenge #69.
The challenge can be found here

My card has a House Mouse Image that was colored with copics by my husband.
YR12, BG05, T7, Ea5, Y13, E37, YGo6, R8a, R83, E35, E34, YR0000, RV0000, RV10,E31, E30, E04,W00.W1,100, BG0000, V0000, G0000.  The stamp is called "I don't do bugs" HMOR1053

My Designer paper is from Stampin' Up, I added a ribbon, Prima flower, brad buttons, and my Sentiment is from a Rubber stamp from Hampton Art. I cut out my image with a Spellbinder, Grand Nestabilities Die,  Grand Labels Four.

Crafting with friends AND family

Tonight was my weekly craft night, My craft buddies came over and this is one of the cards I made tonight.  It was made with another 3d image (tole card) that Cherie bought for me...My Designer paper is from Stampin'  Up.
This is the Second card I made tonight, using the Herringbone pattern that I learned how to make last week. I used a Cuttlebug folder for the back of the Christmas tree (textile folder) and a Spellbinder die cut for my tree, and some peel off stickers to decoration my tree.
The rest of the pictures are from this past weekend, when I was able to get together and craft with Cherie, and my granddaughter along with her best friend.  No one wanted their picture taken.  You will notice with two teenagers that there had to be snacks too.
This is part of what my granddaughter and her friend made.  They liked doing the herringbone technique.
This is a picture of Cherie hard at work cutting out  an image with her exacto knife.  She's really good at that!  She just finished coloring a carousel horse with copics.
This is one of the cards that Cherie made at our stamping get together this past weekend.  She let me take a pic to put on my blog.  Isn't it pretty?  The image is from Stampin' Up.  Cherie colored it with copics.
It did get a bit messy, but I don't know how anyone can craft without making a mess.  We ALL had a great time.  I think they plan on coming again this weekend...

Thank you for stopping my my blog
Blessings,
Jill
