Feb Challenge at Splitocast stampers

This the card I posted at the February Challenge at Split Coast stampers for the Christmas Challenge.
The theme for February was Carolers.
This was the only image I could find to fit the theme.
It was made using a metal die that was made by Dreamweaver (no longer in business)  I miss that web site that they had. I entered quite a few of their challenges and won quite of few of the metal dies.  Most of the images I di with embossing paste...but, since, I haven't done that in a while.  I think most of my pastes are probably dried out by now...(I did have to get rid of quite a few the last time I cleaned out that drawer.

Thank you for stopping by blog today.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Blessings,
Jill

Tie One on Day...

I made this for the challenge at CCEE stampers blog.

The challenge can be found here

https://cceestampers.blogspot.com/2020/11/ccee2048-tie-one-on-day.html

I made a card to enter the "Tie one On Day"  A challenge issued by Kelly,

To make a card that would have something to tie...shoe strings, ribbons, apron ties, etc.

I made my card using a die  from Dreamweaver.  I used some of my Brightly Gleaming paper from Stampin' Up.  I really do like that designer paper,  but I have been making so many cards using it these last couple of weeks...I really want to get to the point where I have used it all.  So I am trying to think of card techniques that I can use up the scraps and smaller pieces of paper that I have left.   This card  seemed to fit that!

Thank you for the great challenge, Kelly.

And thank you for visiting my blog,

Stencil Card

I made this card using a Dreamweaver Stencil for my Umbrella...
and yes, Again, some more of my same Designer paper...(that I used in my last couple of cards)!

I used my Spellbinder Grand Nestabilities round die for the frame...which I cut out of Stampin' Up Wood grain paper pack.  I added two stickers made by Jolee,   I cut a cloud out of a die by SweetNSassy.  I used a pre colored piece of vellum for my sand, and I colored some vellum with Tim Holtz Distress ink for the ocean in the background.

Glitter Card

I'm still showing some of the cards I made using my pack of "Hot off the Press" Designer Paper that I purchased from Paper Wishes.  (It's called Charming)

I like Glitter Cards...but I do not like the mess.  When I made this card I not only had glitter all over the table, I had it on the floor,  my hands, and on my face...(which my hubby noticed!   and told me!)  I also had it in my hair.   Usually, I like to work with glitter in the spring and summer when I can work outside with it at my picnic table (as long as it not too windy...smile)  But it has just been too hot to do that right now.

I did the double glitter technique on this card...and I made my rose using a metal stencil made by Dreamweaver.  My lace I made using a die from SweetNSassy.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...

Sympathy card made with Dream Weaver Stencil

I needed to make a sympathy card, and I went looking for an image to use that had been colored with copics by my hubby.  I had mentioned before that I have a whole book full of images colored by my hubby that I use for cards.  I am so behind in using them.  I thought that this image would be appropriate for a sympathy card.  I wanted to post the card before this but I could not find the STAMP that he used.  I finally realized that it wasn't a stamp but a stencil from Dreamweaver!
(Wisteria Embossing Stencil)
I added a sentiment using a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Merry Monday...use Kraft

I made the above card for this week's challenge at Merry Monday.  This week's challenge is to use Kraft on our card.  My background paper almost looks like it's white...but trust me it's Kraft.
The challenge can be found here...

I made my card using a  DreamWeaver stencil, and Tim Holtz paint.

The card above was a Quick card...(like those)  I used a HeartCreations die to cut out the lace border (borrowed the die from my hubby).  Added a flower embellishment from Kaisercraft!

Merry Monday Challenge #195

I made this card for this week's Challenge at Merry Monday.  You can find the link to the challenge here...http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2016/03/merry-monday-195-buttons-still-time-to.html
This week's challenge was to add buttons to your card.

I used a die from Dreamweaver to make by apron.  I added button brads to the top of my apron, and I die cut buttons from a sizzix die.  My rubber stamped sentiment is from Stampin' Up.  My designer paper is from Stampin' Up too.

This verse is going to go inside my card.

A heaping cup of Christmas Joy
A large measure of good cheer
equal parts of love
happiness for the coming year.

Place ingredients in warm surroundings.
Combine with lots of merry laughter.
Garnish each portion with good fortune!
Serve with smiles ever after.
Serve as many as you can.
Merry Christmas

The above card is one that I had made for a Merry Monday challenge and forgot to post it.
It was for Challenge #191  (Chalkboard Challenge)  I just realized today that I had never even taken
a photo of it.

NBUS Challenge #5

My Crafting Buddy, Kathi, just celebrated a birthday, and the card above is the one I made for her birthday.

I knew that Darnell said on her blog that she was going to have another NBUS challenge, so I thought I would try and make Kathi's card using something NBUS from my stash.  The stencil that I used in the above card I had won at the Dreamweaver Challenge blog ...LAST WINTER!  I thought that I was way overdue in getting it out and using it.  Darnell's challenge always encourages me to do so.
Instead of making Kathi a cake for her birthday.  My other weekly Crafting buddy, Cherie.  Came up with the idea of making fruit tarts.  Let me tell you they were Delicious!
My card above was made with Dreamweaver Stencil LL437.  To say that I struggle using embossing paste...is an understatement.  It only took me 6 tries to get a good image with my paste.
They say practice makes perfect!  It took me two days to get Kathi's card done, (because of all my flops with the embossing paste)   I was still working on my card when she was driving over to my house for craft night.  That was a really close call!  Didn't know I could glue a card together so fast.  (But I think she did like it).
Darnell's fabulous NBUS challenge can be found here...

I have entered ALL of her other challenges, and was fortunate  to win a prize in one of the
challenges.  This time, Darnell has a big surprise...Lot's of Sponsors offering challenges!
Wow!

Thank you so much, Darnell, for doing this for all of us.

Dreamweaver Daisies

I made this card using a Dreamweaver Stencil ( Daisies LL548).  I embossed the stencil with Dreamweaver White Embossing paste, and using a Spellbinder die for my frame ( Nestabilties Decorative Labels Eight). Added buttons, brads, and bows for embellishments.

Finally had a cooler day where I live...(after many days of heat and humidity)
Hope everyone is having a nice summer.

Dreamweaver Challenge

I made the two above cards for this month's Dreamweaver challenge (which is about to end in a few hours after I post these...(nothing like waiting till the last moment...almost anyway)
The link to this month's challenge is here

The theme is "frilly" ...suggestions are to add ribbons, lace, buttons, charms, etc.

My first card uses heart stencil LL318, I used Dreamweaver Metallic copper embossing paste,   some designer paper from Graphic 45, added a charm and  ribbon.

For the second card I used Stencil LJ831. Designer paper by Graphic 45, and DCWV, added a ribbon and a strand of beads...I paste embossed with Dreamweaver white embossing paste, and then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.

It's till very cold in my area...but the one thing good about it...it gives me more time to be in my craft room...

Card for Three Challenges

 Tri Shutter Card...
Card Closed

I have to be honest and tell you that I started this card a while ago...but I only just finished it last night.  I'm entering it in three challenges...First the Birthday card challenge at the Dreamweaver Challenge blog.

I know it doesn't look like a birthday card...but it is going to be sent to a very dear long time friend for her birthday.  Since, I didn't manage to get all my Christmas cards sent out...(still trying to work on them) This card will represent her Christmas card, New Year's card, and birthday card all rolled into one.  My Long time special friend recently lost her husband, and being that this was her first Christmas without him, I wanted to make her a more serene Christmas/birthday card.  Inside has a butterfly (which has always  had a special meaning to our friendship).  As long as I can remember, I ALWAYS send a birthday card that has or had a butterfly on her card.  The butterfly was made using  a stencil from Dreamweaver LG620

The second challenge can be found here...

The Serendipity Stamp that I used is  679J Christmas Dove...
For the Challenge you were to use a hidden Gem on your card...I used a couple of them...Like the Stencil I mentioned above, and another gem was the side trim on the card...Memory Box Alexa Border die, style 98602
I won that beautiful border stencil as blog candy from the wonderful talented Bibiana and it's the first time I remember using it (hubby has used it)

And My third challenge is the very talented Darnell's challenge.

As I stated above my butterfly stencil was NBUS  (Never Used before Stuff)  and my Memory box die...
I forgot to copy the NBUS Logo...for this post...but you can find it on my side bar...

Thank you Darnell, for your generosity, (with your challenges)  and your kindness with your lovely comments.

I so apologize for being absent from my blog for so long.  As some of you know, I was having trouble with seeing, and now that my eye surgeries are over and all went very well.  I think I lost that excuse!  and I also finally got my new glasses on the day of New year's eve.  (readers)

I also don't know what was wrong with me, because for the last couple of weeks....I had absolutely NO DESIRE to craft!!!   Believe me, that's not like me!

Last night my two very special crafty friends came to my home to craft with me.  It had been a long time since we had the opportunity to do so...between the holidays, weather, flue, and other commitments...we just couldn't seem to get together.

To make a long story short...they were the jump start that I needed.  (their wonderful Christmas gifts helped too.  New craft supplies...)  Thank you, Cherie, and Kathi.

Thank you for visiting my blog today...
Blessings,
Jill

Dreamweaver Christmas Card

I made this card for this month's Dreamweaver challenge.  The challenge can be found here
the challenge is called Christmas and Holidays Challenge.

The stencil that I used above (LG708)  was one that I was fortunate to win when I entered a former
Dreamweaver challenge...This is the first time that I used it so It can be considered a NBUS!  (as in Never before used stuff!)

I used Dreamweaver Matte Black embossing paste for my stencil.   I colored my stick on dots with a red copic marker.  Added A ribbon.
Just a reminder that the fabulous Darnell's NBUS challenge will close in two days.  If you haven't gone to Darnell's blog before......What are you waiting for?  You don't know what you are missing!  Darnell's blog posts are always so interesting...often quite funny.  (that's when I need kleenex...
she brings tears to my eyes on those!) But I so enjoy the humor...helps to make my day!
Oh and before I forget.  She makes fabulous cards too!
I forgot to get the link to her blog, but you can find it on my sidebar!

Also, before I forget...I have a new follower that I want to welcome...Maz
Maz's fabulous work can be found here...

Welcome to my blog, Maz, and thank you for becoming a follower!

A card for Three Challenges!

I made this card for three challenges.  The twisted Sister Challenge at Split Coast Stampers,  AAA cards Stencil Challenge, and Dreamweaver challenge.

For the Twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast we were to make an Autumn card with some Shine to it.  I had planned on using leaves going down the vine on the wall, but I just couldn't make it look right.  Hubby told me that roses can still grow in Autumn...so I looked it up on Google,  (not that I didn't believe him...smile)....but he is definitely correct...some roses can still grow in early Autumn...So this is an Autumn card...that's my story and I am sticking to it.

I'm also entering this card in two different stencil challenges, which I hope isn't breaking any rules.
I didn't think I would get this card done in time for the AAA cards challenge, but it looks like I am posting it in time.  The challenge this week was to use a stencil and make the card CAS.  I hope this qualifies as CAS.  The only thing that was difficult for me in making this card .....was using the embossing paste.  I always have problems with embossing paste.  This card was my third try using the paste this time.  I think I know what part of my problem was...I was using card stock that was too thin.  It made the card stock ripple up and not lay flat.  I have to learn everything the hard way.  LOL
The AAA challenge can be found here...
http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2014/08/17-create-with-stencil-style.html

This is also for this month's Dreamweaver challenge...which can be found here...

This month's challenge is August as an adjective...I hope this card fits the adjective  Elegant!
I used the brick wall stencil, and embossed it with Dreamweaver glossy white embossing paste, and then used versamark and heat embossed it with Tim Holtz embossing powder!

It's been week's since I have been able to make a card...It's feels good to finally have a completed card to post....even if it (AGAIN) did not turn out as I had originally thought it would.

Thought for today...

I just read this in a book I was reading today...very thought provoking...

My Grandson's birthday Card

This is the card I made for my grandson.  I absolutely can't believe he just turned 21!

Where did the time go?  It seems like it was just yesterday that  Chris was this sweet little boy
sitting on my Mother-in-law's Lap...
I am a little bias...smile...but I think he's still a sweet boy.  I know, he technically a grown "man" now...but aren't they always that sweet young boy in your heart?   He's still a baseball fan...he was back then and now too.
Found on Pinterest

My hubby has my computer fixed!  What would I do without him?
I have a lot of catching up to do...to make up for when I couldn't get on the computer.  I'm trying to catch with my commenting.

We have family in from out of state, so that has kept me busy too.  It has been so good seeing them.  It's been years!!!  Lots of catching up to do there too.  (They are visiting us from California)

********************************************************
Now as Darnell would say,  It's time for New Friends Corner...

First there is Janie,  Welcome Janie.  You have some very pretty cards on your blog...
Janie's blog can be found here...

And Becky,  Now Becky, is not new to me...I've been looking at Becky's lovely cards for a long time now.  They are all so beautifully done.  Becky, makes a lot of "comfort" cards.  Which is my favorite kind of card to make...I always hope my cards brings some comfort/and or joy to the receiver.
Here is the link to Becky's blog

And Donna,  Donna's blog is new to me, but I am so happy that I found her blog.  Not only does Donna have beautiful cards, she also  has lots of computer and crafting tips that I have already found useful.  Thank you Donna, and thank you for joining my blog.

Easy Cards

3d card made using a 3d sheet from Penny's site..

The sheet to make the above card can be found on Page 12

This card was made using fabric...All you have to do is cut around the image...stick fabric piece  to a piece of paper with sticky on the one side...(Use this so the fabric doesn't fray)...and fussy cut around your image...and glue to your card....very easy
The stencil here I won at Dreamweaver stencils.  Isn't it cute?  The card next to the stencil  was sent by Lynell (of Dreamweaver) along with the stencil.  I believe it was made by her....The link to dreameaver stencils can be found on my sidebar...Thank you Dreamweaver!
I won a gift certificate from Darnell's NBUS challenge and I used my gift certificate towards the purchase of these two dies...Spellbinder border die, and a sizzix circle flip card die. Thank you Darnell!   The link to Darnell's blog can be found on my side bar...
Oh happy day, I received a blog award from Serendipity stamps for the above card!  Thank you Serendipity.   Serendipity stamps blog is also found on my side bar...

I'm a really fortunate lady because I also won a stamp commenting on Angela's blog

The stamp is from

Thank you so much more happy mail to look forward to...

***************************.

and finally I want to Welcome another new follower...Patti...
Patti's blog and lovely work can be found here...

Patti is trying to make 100 cards in 100 days...and the last time I looked at her blog, she looked pretty close to her goal.  Way to go!  Patti...
Sometimes it takes me days to make a card....
*****************************

Hopefully, I didn't miss anything with this post..
It took SIX tries to do this post...first I had computer problems, and had to get off for hubby to get me back up and running...then Second try... I had to get off in the middle of doing this  post because I got company...
Third try .A couple of hours later...I signed onto my computer only for a few minutes and company at my door again...smile.
Fourth Try...Again I signed on for a short while...just long enough to hear the thunder and see the lightning. through my window...time to log off again...
Fifth  try...computer wouldn't work.  Hubby to the rescue again...(My computer is old...he's not sure how many times he can rescue me...so If I disappear you will know why)
So I hope this SIXTH time works...

Merry Monday Challenge #95

I made this card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge...the Link for the challenge can be found here
This week's challenge is to use an Animal on our Christmas card...
I chose to use a dog stencil from Dreamweaver...LL3029.  I paste embossed my dog..I think my paste was a bit old...so It didn't paste quite as well as I would have liked...but I think you can still my cute dog...At least I think he's cute.  I paper pieced his little outfit...I made my Christmas tree using a spellbinder die 2010 Holiday Tree, and embossed my tree with a cuttlebug folder (divine Swirls) I rubber stamped my sentiment using a Stampin' Up stamp, More Merry Messages.  I also used a Stampin' Up stamp to stamp my dog bones (D is for Dog) I fussy cut them out. added brads,  and peel offs to frame my card.  and my Designer Paper is from DCWV.  (and a post script...I know my background paper looks orange...(not much of a Christmas color) ...but it's Red Honest...smile.

Dynamic Duos Challenge #87 and Dreamweaver Challenge

This is the card I made for the Dynamic Duos  Challenge #87.  This is also for the Dreamweaver Challenge this month.  Clean and Simple.
As I am typing this post, My husband is standing behind me laughing...because It took me forever for this post.  For some reason the Dynamic Duos Icon was giving me such grief...first when I saved it and tried to post it...It showed up big enough for half the page, and Now It looks' so tiny.  But it's here...  My husband said I should say that I am now typing this from a padded cell!  (He is such a bad influence on me!)

The link to this challenge for Dynamic Duos is here

My card was made with a rubber stamped image we think is from Stamps happen (borrowed stamp)  It was stamped years ago,  My husband colored the image with copics,  and I added it to a cuttlebug embossed background (D'vine Swirls) My paper pieced umbrella was made using a Dreamweaver stencil.  (My favorite stencil from Dreamweaver)  This umbrella is clean and simple to make...so I hope that counts...  I also hope my card counts for the Dynamic Duos challenge I used the colors Hot pink and black...and I hope my brown hair/sand  and ivory colored skin count for neutrals.
My sentiment is from JustRite Stamps (Just the right words)

I know it may seem strange doing a beach card, especially when there is so much snow all around me.  but I thought this would make a lovely card to put into my cancer donation box.  I make cards all year so I can take a box full down to our cancer center in August in memory of my Mom.

Here is the link to the Dreamweaver challenge...where you can possibly win a free stencil.

Below is a beautiful card that was mailed to me from Lynell from Dreamweaver Stencils. I have purchased this rooster stencil but I have not made anything with it yet.  Lynell thanks for the inspiration.

T
And below is the prize I won at Dreamweaver...this is one of their newer background stencils...I put a piece of white paper behind it so I could get it to photographer better.  Thank you so much, Lynell.

My Mail certainly brought much JOY to me today.

Dream Weaver Autumn Challenge

Click picture to enlarge
It's been a while since I've made a card.  I almost forgot how to make one.  This card would almost prove that to me.  It took me so much longer to make this card than it should have.  I need to get back into practice.
It's also been a while since I managed to enter a Dreamweaver challenge.  I was determined to enter this month.  Since I have so many birthday cards to make for the September birthdays....I thought this would be a good time to use the challenge for one of my cards.  I used Dreamweaver stencil LJ885.  I paste embossed my stencil with Matte black embossing paste, and after it dried, and I cleaned the stencil.  I put the stencil back over top again...and used Perfect Medium to put perfect pearls on top of the black paste, I then used my mini mister to set the Perfect pearls.

Dreamweaver Stencils Challenge for May

I made the above gift book for my granddaughter as part of her graduation present.  She seldom looks at my blog, so I feel fairly safe in posting it. (I think my blog is too boring for her...smile)
This "Tiny" gift book is still a work in progress.  I still need to add photos and journaling in the inside pages.  I usually make 12 x 12 scrapbooks or 11 by 8 1/2.  This one is 6 x 6.

I paper pieced the butterfly on my front cover.  I added dimensions to pop it up off the page.  My paper is from Stampin' Up.  I used a micron pen to trace around the stencils on the Shrink it.  I then colored the images with copics, and cut them out.  Shrink it is something I really enjoy doing.  I think I'm in my second childhood...smile
In the above pic you can see the stencils I used for my "Tiny Treasures"  I used the butterfly, umbrella, and silhouette stencil for my charm embellishments which I will put in the inside of my book.  I enjoyed doing this so much that I am going to looking at the stencils differently.  I want to buy stencils that I think will work well with this technique.  I also paste embossed my "celebrate" title with white embossing paste.  I then sponged over it with Tim Holtz distress inks...the embossing paste works as a resist.  So I just used a tissue to wipe off the extra  paste.

I'm entering this in the May Dreamweaver Challenge...
http://dreamweaverstencils.blogspot.com/

For the month of May the theme is "Tiny Treats"  Party favors, Wedding favors, end of the school treats, Teacher appreciation gifts, baby shower favors, small tokens of appreciation.

There is still a few days open for the challenge, and someone who enters the challenge will win a free stencil.  I have been fortunate to win a few times this past year, and the umbrella, and celebrate stencils  were two of the stencils that I won in challenge.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Hope you have a great week end...

Card for Dreamweaver challenge

I made this card for this months challenge at Dreamweaver Stencil blog...the link to the challenge can be found here
  http://dreamweaverstencils.blogspot.com/2013/04/thursdays-dream-schemes-tutorial-on.html

I made my card using my favorite stencil...the umbrella stencil  LG737.  I won that stencil in one of the Dreamweaver challenges.  I also used a Dreamweaver stencil for my sentiment  LG738.  I used my  Matte black embossing paste on the stencil.   I paper pieced my umbrella and also my rubber boots which I stamped with memento ink  ..the stamp is from Hampton Art. Not sure where the Dp is from, I added a ribbon and some Stampin' Up dimensionals to pop up some of  my images.

Thank you for visiting my blog today,
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Blessings,
Jill
