As I am typing this post, My husband is standing behind me laughing...because It took me forever for this post. For some reason the Dynamic Duos Icon was giving me such grief...first when I saved it and tried to post it...It showed up big enough for half the page, and Now It looks' so tiny. But it's here... My husband said I should say that I am now typing this from a padded cell! (He is such a bad influence on me!)
The link to this challenge for Dynamic Duos is here
My card was made with a rubber stamped image we think is from Stamps happen (borrowed stamp) It was stamped years ago, My husband colored the image with copics, and I added it to a cuttlebug embossed background (D'vine Swirls) My paper pieced umbrella was made using a Dreamweaver stencil. (My favorite stencil from Dreamweaver) This umbrella is clean and simple to make...so I hope that counts... I also hope my card counts for the Dynamic Duos challenge I used the colors Hot pink and black...and I hope my brown hair/sand and ivory colored skin count for neutrals.
My sentiment is from JustRite Stamps (Just the right words)
I know it may seem strange doing a beach card, especially when there is so much snow all around me. but I thought this would make a lovely card to put into my cancer donation box. I make cards all year so I can take a box full down to our cancer center in August in memory of my Mom.

Here is the link to the Dreamweaver challenge...where you can possibly win a free stencil.
Below is a beautiful card that was mailed to me from Lynell from Dreamweaver Stencils. I have purchased this rooster stencil but I have not made anything with it yet. Lynell thanks for the inspiration.
And below is the prize I won at Dreamweaver...this is one of their newer background stencils...I put a piece of white paper behind it so I could get it to photographer better. Thank you so much, Lynell.
My Mail certainly brought much JOY to me today.

What an adorable image in pink, I love the gingham umbrella - and your stencil prize is fabulous, lucky you! Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your lovely bright card Jill - and you can tell that DH of yours that a padded cell should be welcome, as then he would not have to shovel snow!!
ReplyDeleteThat stencil is gorgeous, as is the rooster card.

ReplyDeleteJill, I love, love, LOVE this!!!! That image is so cute and the paper pieced umbrella is just perfect! So very pretty.
ReplyDeleteTell hubby you do not need a padded cell at all! LOL! I think Blogger makes things the size it wants to at times.....among other strange things!
Great win too! That's a very pretty stencil!

ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous beach card with the wonderful coloring and paper piecing. It's fun to look at a beach card and I would love being there.
ReplyDeleteBut, guess what? It's snowing this morning at my house. I think it will only be a dusting as most of the snow is supposed to be more south in our state. I'll take what I can get. I know most are sick of snow. Of course, I'm not as we don't get it that often.
Jill, you really did get wonderful mail with that gorgeous card and wonderful, new stencil to play with.
Clean and simple always seems to take the most time for me..... You did a great job with it! I can't wait to see how you use the new stencil!
ReplyDeleteWow Jill, I got a vision of your husband standing behind you laughing. I have no idea what he looks like but I still had a picture of him in my head (you should post a picture of him so I can see how close I got to him). Congrats on winning the stencil and getting the very cool Rooster card - I love that stencil. Great card - hugz!!!!!
ReplyDeletePS - how sweet you make cards for another wonderful cause - another way to manifest your word of the year. You know, I told a friend in India about your word and we are both coming up with our words too.
