Herringbone card

This card was made using more Kaisercraft designer paper, and the Herringbone technique.

Thank you, sweet Carol, If you read this post... Carol from  "Our Littel Inspirations" blog...

Is the one who first showed me how to do this technique.  I think I like it as much as she does.

It's great for using up scraps of paper.

You can also find the technique in the tutorial section at Split Coast Stampers website.

.....

I have all but one of my cards in the mail   (because I still have not made another trip to the post office).

And I made the decision to hand deliver my cards to the neighbor this year.   (Due to the high cost of postage).   At first I didn't know if it was the right decision, because the weather hasn't been too great, and most of my neighbors have not been home, and I couldn't just put them on their door for them to get wet or blow away.

Well I did manage to get a couple of them hand delivered.  I am so happy that I made that decision.  My quilt card was delieved to my quilting neighbor  this morning, and she inivited me into her craft room to see some of her quilts.  (and she gave me a bag of  her handmade cookies!  They are so good!)

I delieverd another card to a neighbor and guess what?  I got another bag of home made cookies.

I think I  am definitely going to try to hand deliver more hand made cards  next year!  Smile!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Happy crafting to you,

Blessings,

Jill

Quilt card

I made this quilt card for my neighbor.  I always made quilt cards for her because, obviously, she is a quilter.  Very good one too.  As the picture of the wall hanging quilt of snowman that she made as a gift to us shows.

I used a die made my purple Daisy design.

poinsettia card

Hubby and I finally went out to do some Christmas shopping...

When we returned home we found a surprise on our front porch...thhis lovely big pot of Poinsettia blooms that you see in the picture below.  What a lovely thing for our neighbors to do.

I had a different Christmas card in mind for them, but when I saw the pretty flowers....

I quick made a card with a poinsettia flower on it.

CAS668 Trees

I made this card for the CAS challenge at SplitCoast Stampers.  Trees

I hope it qualifies as Clean and Simple.  Anyone who looks at my blog would see that my cards are usually lots of layers, etc.

This is the third time doing this technique.  It's because it is quick and easy for me to make that it seemed to fit the CAS challenge.

I used the Floating strips, technique again. (and fussy cut my trees)

My cards are mostly done!  and all but one card is in the mail.

(unless I forgot one...or two...I usually do.  I still need to make some cards for my neighbors...who I hope to hand deliver a card to.

Second Birthday Card

This is another birthday card I made for my sister to give to her friend.
I wanted to give her a choice.  She did say that her friend has a great sense of humor.

This card idea was my husband's.  When I told him I wanted to try and make a book card for her but I wasn't sure of a title...

Gone with the Wind came to him.  When the book card didn't work.  I made two of those card folds that are at Split coast stampers tutorial and after many tries I got them to work.... BUT, not this time...after three tries I gave up.  I find it to be my my most difficult fold to do

So It's just a regualr card which hopefully, My sister's friend will get the idea of this card.  I showed the card to my brother who is 20 years younger than I am...and he didn't get it.

He said he never saw the Carol Burnett skit where she plays Scarlett O'Hara and takes the drapes off the window to make a dress, only she leaves the curtain rod in the dress.

I well remember that scene, I laugh everytime I see it.

The inside of the card...(which I still have to do...will read

80  Years...    Gone with the Wind.

Hopefully she saw the skit, and thinks the card is funny.

Since I'm not a spring chicken myself, I don't think she will be offended by me making this card...  (I hope not, anyway.)

Again, Thank you for visiting my blog today

Jill

Birthday card

My sister asked me to make a birthday card for her to give to a friend of hers.  Since I don't know her friend, I was kind of stuck as to what to make.  She only could tell me two things about her friend.  Her birthday, and that it's right after Christmas, and she likes to read.

I don't think that information was much help, but I did my best, this was the second card I made.  The first one I totally ruined, (and Yes, I liked that card better than this one.  I had it all done...all I had to do was glue my card together, and I glued it crooked!  Most of the time, if I do that I can get my card apart.  (I sometimes use the heat from my embossing tool.  This time it didn't work).  My card ripped and I could not fix it.

However it wasn't all bad, in the process, of trying to find some materials and ideas to make another card.  I found a die that I misplaced.

It was Not the above die, I knew where that was, because it's a favorite die that Em  of (Creative Em) had sent to me, and it's one that I really like.  Thank you Em.

Floating strips #2

I made this card using a technique from SplitCoast Stampers

Called Floating strips.  This is the second card I made using this technique.

It's a technique I like because it makes a quick and easy card, and I can use up some of my scraps.  My paper is from Kaisercraft (Wonderland) and the die I used for the trees was sent to me by Splitcoast friend, Joan, AkA Ponygirl2.

The floating strips are on a piece of acetate.

Thank you for visiting my blog today,

Blessings,

Jill
