It's really snowing right now

It's still really snowing right now.  Looks like no end in sight!  It does mean I can spend more time in my craft room.  It also means when it finally stops that we will be shoveling lots of snow. ( Not looking forward to that!)  Jim shoveled the snow by himself yesterday and I know he was hurting, so I definitely need to give him a hand this time.

My card was made using a spellbinder die and weaving in the ribbon.  I don't think I will be making too many of these.  They are a bit time consuming...smile...

Children's cards

My dear crafting buddies made it to my house last week...at last!  We've all been hoping that we could finally do that.  It was cold outside, but they are troopers and came out in that cold wind.
Sadly, it was even colder last night...so NO craft night.  However, last week, Kathi, came bearing gifts!  She cleaned out some things from her craft room, and shared some of it with Cherie and myself.  It was some craft things she had for a long time and they  had not motivated her to make anything with it.  Her designer paper did motivate me, though.  The above cards were made with pre-colored images from the Designer paper she brought to my house. It made the cards go together quite quickly.  Kathi had the paper for quite awhile and wasn't sure where it came from.  I just cut out the images, and added some ribbon, and computer generated sentiments.

And I apologize for showing you yet another side step card.  I'm sure that sooner or later I will get tired of making them, but, obviously, that hasn't happened yet.  smile.

Quick card

Super quick card! I feel like I cheated!  I used a Jolee's sticker that I purchased on Sale.  I am late with this card, and the first card I tried to make....ended up in the trash.  I didn't want to be any later with this card then I already am...so I wanted to make a quick one.

Ugliest Card ever challenge

And here is my Ugliest Card ever...

You can sort of blame this post on...Carol...from Our little inspirations...

Carol, is one of first bloggers I met through blogging.  I can tell you that Carol's beautiful cards are even prettier in real life...so she does Not make ugly cards...Okay, Carol, I have to tell you that I sort of agree the card you posted for the The Ugliest Card ever challenge...sort of qualifies...don't think it's as ugly as mine though...LOL

Carol's blog, led me to find Darnell's blog...

Darnell's blog is a real treat to visit.  I usually grab a box of kleenex before I go visit her blog.  I have had to wipe tears from my eyes many times.  She has a great sense of humor.

And this is the blog that Carol, and Darnell led me to...

The above link you will find the challenge for the Ugliest cards...I have enjoyed reading the posts for these cards...Perfect post for April Fool's day...

The link below is where I originally posted my "Ugly" card, and you can see that I called it an Ugly card even back then.
http://ribbonchallenged.blogspot.com/2010/09/ugly-card.html

Since I have link within on my blog, I would see that card, every now and then show up.  And I would always think to myself...."Oh No, it's that card again."  So now that I have posted it twice it
will come up twice as often...Oh Goodie!  It's one of those cards where you say.  "What was I thinking"?

My card was for a challenge where I had to have...
stripes
circles
and spots on my card...

Well, my card definitely fit the challenge, but I had to go a bit overboard and add half of the supplies in my craft room at the time.  You have to admit it's a one of a kind card!  I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to case this card.  In fact, in is a NONE of a kind card.  I went looking for it, because of this challenge, but I could NOT find it.  I think I threw it in the trash.  I know for a fact, that I did NOT mail it to anyone...

Thank you so much for this challenge, it's a fun challenge.

Thank you visiting my blog today.
Blessings,
Jill

Calendar card

Card made from Calendar page

Mom's Christmas Flowers
P Patchwork Pillow I made for Mom

I haven't much time to make cards or post to my blog...so forgive me for posting a CHRISTMAS card that I made. I made it late so I never manged to get it in the mail, (so maybe I am EARLY for next year. The image came from Penny's photobucket...and the card is a tri shutter card (the instructions can be found at Split coast stampers.
I took some photos at my Mother's house, I loved the bouquet that was sent to her by my cousin, so I had to take a photo, but the photo was taken after the beautiful red roses had to be taken out of it, but I thought it still looked nice.
The other photo taken at my Mother's is of a patchwork pillow that I made for her, yes, I sewed all those little squares together...smile...
I also made a card out of an old calendar of mine...I saw the idea on Becca's blog, so I wanted to try it.

It's COLD here, so if' its cold where you are too...Hope you keep warm...God Bless, Jill

Thank You card

My Mother wants me to make her a lot of thank you cards, for the nice things people have done for her for her birthday, and encouragement with her illness.

My husband found the image at a public domain site, I used some peel offs to frame the edge, and a silver metal embellishment for the thanks, I don't think the colors scanned well, but in real life they do go together a bit better, (at least I think they do?)

Puppy Challenge card for COC

I belong to a craft forum that has monthly challenges, and this is the card that I just entered into their "General" Monthly challenge. I used a photograph that I took of my granddaughter's puppy, Trixie. I call her my "GrandPUP", she's a sweetie. The theme for the challenge was Baby Animals.

Life begins the day...

Life begins the day you start a garden. That is the quote on the front of this card...so maybe it's not exactly true...But many of my earliest happy childhood memories are of me playing in our backyard garden. It was a great start in life...

Red White and Blue

This is one of the earliest cards I made, and I still have it! Didn't think the card was good enough to send to anyone...but I wanted to post something Red,White, and Blue...and it's the only card I have to fit the theme.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Card from My daughter...

I'm posting the card that my daughter made me for Mother's day...Anyone who has looked at my blog for a while now, will know that I am addicted to making cards. Card Making is one of my very favorite pastimes. Now I think I am getting both my daughter and granddaughter into the same habit!

Blue Monday

Hopefully, I am posting my FIRST Blue Monday post correctly...
Other blue Monday posts can be found here

Since My blog was originally started to show my cards and other crafts...I had to make a card to match my other BLUE items that I am posting.

I know my dishes are very common but to me they are very special. The starter set for the dishes was bought for me by my Mother and Step-father (now deceased). Since that time, our daughter and several other family members have added to my basic collection, and given me pieces to match my original starter set. For gifts, I have received my meat platter, glasses, bowls, coffee carafe, place mats, towels, salt and pepper shakers, etc.

I always wanted to sew a quilt, but still haven't done it. Chances are that I will never get around to making a quilt, but I have made "quilt" squares and made them into pillows, and aprons, etc.

My daughter made me a lovely quilt and it's done in my favorite colors pink and BLUE.

My Birthday cards

Card sent to me by my friend Carol, along with my "birthday letter."

The card is so appropriate with my Lilac bush in my backyard in full bloom.

Card made by my Stampin up Demonstrator, Stacie My Birthday letter...

I wasn't sure what I was going to post today, and then I remembered the nice birthday cards I received in the mail today...and I even received a nice 2 page letter in the one. These days with every one's busy lives....It's especially nice to get some "snail mail."

One of my favorite websites...www.circleofcrafters.com

is having it's Four year anniversary. They have challenges and lots of card instructions. This website is where I learned how to do Iris folding cards, 3d cards, and Tea bag cards, etc. Membership is free.
I also won a prize in one of their challenges. I won $121.00 worth of free merchandise from this site by entering into one of their challenges. The supplies came in handy for me to be able to more of my crafting.
I do not get compensated by this site.

Friendship Card

This is the card I entered into the "Limited Supplies" Challenge yesterday at Split Coast Stampers. It was for LSC205. The card was supposed to be clean and simple. This card really was easy to do, I used some designer paper cut into squares and glued, added a vellum saying, and a decoration, and my card was done. Most of my cards seem to take me forever to make. (I'm slow LOL) This one definitely, went a bit faster!
I feel I could qualify for "Limited Supplies" all the time...(In regard to rubber stamped cards) I only have a handful of stamps and a few inks....so far.
I am working on my collection...which will be added to my other collections. My collection of fabric (from my previous "sewing" days. (along with patterns, buttons, other notions, etc) Also next to the sewing supplies is my yarn, from my previous knitting, and crocheting days, along with the knitting needles, crochet hooks, leaflets, and assorted patterns.
I might try and get back into some crocheting again, now that I see that they are putting crocheted flowers on cards.
Oh, I forgot about my plastic canvas, smocking patterns, embroidery and cross stitch thread, and more patterns. No wonder I have a hard time walking through my craft corner (which I am working on organizing (and clearing out) right now, an endless job. I think I need to learn how to do ebay. LOL

Birthday card for my Sister-in-Law

Birthday card for my sister-in-law whose birthday is today. I must be honest, and tell you I am not real happy with this card, but I think she liked it (and the gift certificate inside the card LOL)

I was given some chipboard to use, and I wanted to see what I could do with it, never used chipboard before.
