The above card was made with a die that I received for my birthday. It's a Cottage Cutz die, and it made a quick card for me. The die is called Winter Wonderland Scene. I was thinking about using this die to make some of my Christmas cards. I showed this card to one of my crafting buddies, and asked her if it would work for my Christmas cards and she said to me...If It's for Christmas, Why are there leaves on the trees?" I didn't think about that. On the east coast in the USA, she's right...but maybe it would work for my west coast family that I send cards to...smile. Actually, I'm thinking about cutting the leaves off the tree after I die cut it, and add some white flower soft for snow...

Speaking of birthdays...I found this quote today...and it gave me my laugh for today..
"She was so old, when they lit the candles on her birthday cake six people were overcome
by the heat." ~ Fred Allen
(That could have fit me this year...but fortunately, they only put ONE candle on my cake. LOL
Thank you for visiting my blog today,
Blessings,
Jill
PS. I added a link to my last blog post.

Oh Jill, I love this die! It's beautiful shown in all white. Are all our trees deciduous here in the east? Love it anyway and your card!
ReplyDeleteI think you are good to go. Some trees do not lose their leaves-pretend this is one of those! It is a lovely die!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great die - it certainly would make for a quick card :-) And the leaves in what is a winter scene - someone must live where there are evergreens :-)

Your card is beautiful! Love that die and I think it is a little odd that there are leaves on the tree in what seems to be an obvious winter theme. LOl It's still very nice though. Glad you had a wonderful birthday and hope to see more pretty things you made with your presents! Have a lovely weekend!♥
ReplyDeleteLeaves or not, this is a beautiful card and die cut. Yep, there are places that have leaves at Christmas so just send it to one of those places.
ReplyDeleteI like the lights shining from the inside of the buildings.
Great crafting die you used on this card, and I love the quote! After watching Barbara Walters retirement special, I feel older than dirt, because I watched her live her amazing career through all those decades! Nix the candles, who needs more reminders?! LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the nice comments...Karen, Your comment led to an interesting discussion about whether all the trees around here do fall off the trees. I tried to use google for an answer but it didn't help me. My hubby thinks there are some them keep their leaves...I asked him to name one...He said pine trees...I told they have needles on the trees not leaves, then he said holly trees, I told him that those are NOT holly leaves on the trees in the picture. I'm just aware of all the leafless trees in our area during the cold days of winter. It would be interesting to find out the answer. LOL
ReplyDeleteLeaves or no leaves it's still a beauty! Besides that, if you come to Texas in the dead of the winter some of our trees still have leaves on them. Beautiful card!

Happy Birthday to you! Your card is lovely!! That die is fabulous and love all the lit windows!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it still works for Christmas - just add a sentiment that says "believe in the magic of Christmas" or "Hope you still believe in miracles" or something like that. Lovely and peaceful scene! Great die - lucky you getting so many great things on your birthday. Hugz!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's gorgeous! I haven't seen that die before and can hardly wait to see what you do with the rest of your birthday loot!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to jump over the bigpond to Australia ...we have trees with leaves on at Christmas LOL.
ReplyDeleteI think its a gorgeous scene and lovely card.
Happy belated birthday and thanks for visiting my blog
