For anyone just looking at my blog for the first time...or if it's been a while...
I was stuck with getting inspiration to make cards again...You would think after making cards for so many years I would Not have that problem....but I do..
I have decided to go back and look at some of the old cards that I made to get inspiration.
As I am going through my blog I see so many memories of things that happened in the past. Like the above card when Jim and I celebrated one of our Anniversaries at one of our favorite restaurants. Sadly, the place is not open any more. I am grateful for all the good times (and meals) that we had there.
The backdrop of the card is a picture of the restaurant. I used a stamp that I have used many times. The chef was the first stamp that I ever purchased from Stampin' Up. The Chef treated us so well that night. He even was our private server that night and made some special things for us since it was our anniversary. I had to make a special card for him to say thank you and this was the one that I made for him.
My husband colored this card for me with Copics,
I have this card posted at Split Coast Stampers...(where I have many other cards posted)
I made this card one night very quickly.. In fact it is the quickest card that I have ever made.
I wasn't going to post it at the site because, to me, it wasn't good enough to post.
Imagine my surprise to go back and look at this card again and realize that this card is my most favorited, and most viewed card in my gallery of 766 cards.
I added this card to the list today, because it is one that I definitely want to try and make again.
The center background was made using peg stamps. It's been a while since I used them, I think I need to get them out again.
Thank you for being a part of my journey down memory lane.
Blessings,
Jill

I'm enjoying having a look at all these older cards, so thanks for posting them. Everything old is new again. What was the restaurant you enjoyed? I wondered if it was the Pit Stop - that was our favorite go-to place that closed a long time ago too. Stay dry, we're in for some nasty weather tonight!
ReplyDeleteThese are all such thoughtful and lovely cards. Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cards Jill, and I do love the story behind the Bon Appetite card! The black and white card is exquisite

Another selection of cards Jill, so many varied design. It's good to look over your older cards once in a while and see how your style has changed, Kate x
ReplyDeleteGreat styles and perfectly designed, gorgeous in colour combo as well x
ReplyDeleteThat last card is really beautiful. I love the addition of the charm.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful memories and cards, I can't believe you didn't think that card was good enough to post, sometimes the simple cards are the prettiest. I haven't used my peg stamps in a long time either, great reminder :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Sorry my comments seem all over the place... it looks like I commented on alternate posts, unless Blogger has dumped the others into the spam folder? xoxo
