I made this card for two challenges...The twisted Sister Challenge at Split coast Stampers
and for the Butterfly Challenge...
It's my turn this week for the Twisted Sister Challenge to give the challenge, and my challenge this time is to learn a new technique. (TSC0206)
I enjoy seeing so many neat cards done with this technique on Split coast. My Stampin' Up Demo, Stacie, showed how to do this in a class one week...Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend that class, but I did see the card that my crafting friend, Cherie made. I tried to do one on my own but it was a total failure, so I just put that card in the trash and forgot about it for awhile. Since this year one of my resolutions is to try new things...I tried it again. Now I am hooked on this fold, so far I have made three cards using it.
Here is the link for the tutorial for Side Step card At Spring Coast Stampers...
Again, I used some "freebie" papers from Paper Wishes
I make a lot cards with Butterflies on it...and I thought maybe this would fit in the Butterfly challenge...so I went to check it out and this time it's a butterfly and a valentine theme.
So My Valentine card should fit the challenge...Thank you for the great challenge..I so enjoy seeing all those pretty butterflies on the cards.

ReplyDeleteHi Jill, welcome to my butterfly challenge with your gorgeous side step card. I love the tag element and those classy butterflies. I too am trying new shapes this yr and so far have managed 16 different styles. I tried a side step card last yr and found it a fun shape to make. Thankyou for fluttering by my #23 challenge. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful side-step card! I'm glad you tried it again! I've never tried this style before. I've made a couple centre-step cards so I think I shall add this one to my to-do list! I like trying new things too! The papers you used look so pretty and I love your trim along the front. BTW, your hubby's drawing of you looks amazing!

Very awesome step-fold - I've yet to make one that didn't look terrible. Love the gorgeous rose paper on this one, and the pretty embellishments you've added. I'd say you've got this particular technique aced quite well. It's lovely, Miss J. TFS, Hugs & Happy V Day.
