Angie at SplitCoast Stampers wanted us to bring out the green for the Free 4 All challenge
Another challenge that I can't remember how long it's been since I entered it! (or if I ever entered a card in that particular challenge)
I made another Standing pop-up-card for my base. I had some shamrock paper which I couldn't tell you how OLD it is...I finally found a way to use it.

...I may have told this story before... but here it comes again. A few years ago for my Mother's day gift from my daughter was that she purchased a DNA kit for me. It was a very special gift because she knew how much it would mean to me. I was adopted when I was about 3 (close to the age of 4) and there is so much about my background that I did not know.
So I was excited when I got my kit back to see the results and to realize that I am 15% Irish. (After many years of celebrating St Patrick's day telling people that I was not Irish)
Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Blessings,
Jill
A super card Jill, a great design.

Oh Jill what a fabulous card - I love it, and I love your wee backstory as to how you discovered you 'had the Irish'.
ReplyDeleteStay safe

Thanks for sharing the story and no wonder you made this fabulous 'Irish' card being 15% Irish x.....lol x. It's a stunner x.
ReplyDeleteHi Jill this is a fantastic card. I love it. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteYou forgot part of the story. I also got the a DNA kit. After many years of being told I am Scots Irish the results came back with no hint of being Irish or Scots for that matter. I went online and researched it and found that my great grandmother was born in Scotland to parents who were from Ireland. Yay! Two Irishmen in the family. 😊😍😂 Hubby
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card sweetheart.

Oh what a special gift she gave you, wonderful papers and great design for your Irish card!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect xoxo
ReplyDeletea great card and an awesome story. i do believe that most adopted children are curious about their roots!!
ReplyDeleteLove your card Jill and love the story too! Now you really can say you are Irish! I'm sure with being adopted, you wanted to know about your heritage, that was such a touching gift your daughter gave you! Hugs & Blessing, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove the card. I just found out about six years ago when I did a DNA test that I'm about 49% Irish. I always thought I was Italian. What a surprise that was.
ReplyDeleteGreat fold and it is nice when we can find a way to use some papers in our collections. Someday I hope to do a DNA test. It would be fun to get my background.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card and a great story about your heritage! Cheers!
