This card was made from scraps of paper I had left over from all the Christmas cards I made using this paper. The frame that I used for my paper scraps was cut with a die by Elentina Cutting dies. I don't like the way the tag turned out so before I put it in the mail I hope to change the tag.
Most of my Christmas cards are done and I actually managed to get cards addressed and in the mail today. I feel like I'm finally making some progress
Today would have been my father's birthday.
I tried to find some photos of me taken with my father, but the pic below is the only one I could find.
(and it's not in the greatest of condition).
My parents divorced when I was pretty young so I don't have too many family pictures with my father in them.
I lost him to a heart attack 26 years ago.
Happy Birthday, Dad
Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Blessings,
Jill

This is a great way to use those pretty scraps and I love that die! Great photo of your dad with you too! My parents divorced when I was a baby, and my mother tore up every photo she had of my dad, so I never knew what my father looked like until I was in my mid 20s when an aunt sent me a picture of him. Old photos like this are treasures to those who come behind us :)
ReplyDeleteHI Jill
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card .. .. I love the die and papers you have used. Your tag looks great too .. .. .. I love how the green stamping matches your ribbon.
So lovely that you have a picture of yourself with your Dad. My parents didn't get divorced but we still don't have many photographs. I don't think they owned a camera in the early years then later when they did I think it was hit and miss whether they could afford to have the films actually developed. Not like today. I bet some people take as many photographs in a week as my family have in their lifetime.
Funnily enough Mum and I had her old photograph album out today. Lovely memories of times gone by.
I lost my Dad to a heart attack 29 years ago.
Take care Jill.
Love Jules xx
Beautiful card and photo, Jill xoxo
ReplyDeleteI apologize for not visiting lately. My family is in crisis mode right now, unfortunately. I managed to sneak in some me time to visit blogs. This is a beautiful way to use up scraps. I love the white lines on it, too. I tried to make a quilt pattern design once with scraps. I could never get all the pieces to line up correctly, so I gave up.
ReplyDeleteBittersweet memories for you today Jill, it's a lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI love your card, what an attractive design with gorgeous snips of papers, lovely colours, Kate x
A beautiful card Jill, great papers and a super way to use them up.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo of you and your Dad, I have all of my Mum's old photographs, I really need to go through them all at some point.

Hi Jill this is a gorgeous card. I love it. That photo of you and your dad is lovely. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty scraps you had left over and I love this idea for using them! Not sure what you don't like about the tag but I think it looks nice!
ReplyDeleteI love that die, Jill! What did you end up doing to the tag? I think it looks great just the way it is. I'm glad you have the photo of you and your dad, I have very few pics of me when I was little, but I still have a lot of memories, so that will have to do. Keep on posting, I still need lots of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love this gorgeous inlaid holiday card, Jill! How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture of you with your dad. Such a sweet way to remember and honor him on his birthday.
The card is fabulous - I love that die - so perfect for using up scraps! I love the tag and the card design in general!
ReplyDeleteSweet picture, Jill. Those passing anniversaries and birthdays of our missing loved ones are difficult. Sometimes I forget them and then they roll around and I am sad for no apparent reason and then it hits me. They take chunks of our hearts with them.
