I'm still struggling a bit to get back into card making...
So I thought it might help if I tried to go back to my roots (so to speak)\
When I first started making cards I found a group called "Circle Of Crafters"
It was a really great card making group...I enjoyed it so much, but sadly it does not
exist anymore. I often wondered if anyone from that group still visited my blog.
Anyway, on that website I learned how to make 3D cards (also known as Tole cards)
Iris folding cards, and Teabag folding cards...
Okay, something new for me, they put my photos in reverse as to how I wanted to post them.
I'm posting a teabag folding card at the top, and an Iris folding card in the same picture. I was trying to show the original size of my card. I don't know why but back when I first started making cards I made the larger cards. They seem "Humongous" to me now. My bottom card is an A2 card. made from a 3d sheet created by Penny Wessenauer...She used graphics that were from the courtesy of the Graphics Fairy
I redid my one Iris folding card, and my teabag card to put it on a smaller card base.
Thank you for visiting my blog today
Blessings,
jill

What beautiful cards Jill - and what a pity that group is now defunct. I do hope your mojo returns quickly - mine is on vacation with all the changes happening - maybe once I have moved...

Jill, these are all very pretty. Love the techniques and the different sized cards. These techniques are always in. I was in a group when I first started making cards too - we chatted every day and were such a blessing to each other. We have mostly all gone in different directions too - life just sometimes gets in the way and time is such a precious resource. Love your cards - Many hugz!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are all amazing! I haven't really seen the folded cards before. They are amazing. I absolutely love the last cad. So stunning!
ReplyDeleteThey're all very pretty cards with great techniques. I love the Iris folding you do!
ReplyDeleteHi Jill - I struggled too - for a really long time. I was just in such a funk over a lot of stuff, but I finally yanked myself out of it. What helped me was watching other crafters' videos. I'm sure you'll get your mojo back, do it on your own time! I miss my old card group too, that's where I first learned of the iris folds! Your cards are all great - keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous collection of cards Jill, I've never tried Iris Folding, it looks very complicated. The last card is beautiful, a pretty decoupage topper and great papers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and leaving some lovely comments.

Hi Jill
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your lovely comments on my blog .. .. .. so pleased you found me as I have found you now too.
What a lovely collection of cards. I particularly love the iris folding you have done .. .. very neat and precise!
I think a lot of people are struggling in blogland at the moment. I think it is a mixture of Blogger changing how we post things and all the turmoil in the world is taking its toll. But if you can escape into your crafty little world I find it is a great place to try and shut out our worries and concerns.
Like you I find large cards quite daunting .. .. for me the smaller the better. On my blog I make teeny tiny cards (3.5 inches square) and scrapling cards. I find I enjoy making those most and they use up lots of leftover card and papers.
Take care.
Love Jules xx
Jill, I love your paper piecing. I haven’t made any in a while. They are always fun to make.
ReplyDeleteThree amazing beauties! I love all that awesome folding!!
