I made this card to give as a Thank You card to the lady that had been my Mother's best friend for over 60 years. Carrie took me to lunch for my birthday (along with my sister) So I wanted to make a thank you card.
The card was made with a NBUS die (Never been used before) I purchased this die on my birthday at my favorite Craft store. The Spellbinder die is called Mystical Embrace. The card turned out to be just a bit too ornate for me. My Mother's friend seems to like The Victorian looking cards that I have made for her in the past, and she likes to like them made a bit fancy, so I truly hope she likes this one.
I also added a punched out butterfly (Martha Stewart) colored it with copics. Added some Graphic 45 paper in the background, Stick on gems, peel offs, and a bow. And a thank you sentiment inside the card.
Happy Monday to you...

ReplyDeleteOh, Jill, I just popped by to see what you'd been up to, and wow! While this may be out of your comfort zone (as Jim says), it 's truly gorgeous and is in my favorite color combination. I love these colors and the beautiful, intricate dies. I know Carrie must have loved it and has it on display somewhere special. It's just that lovely! Hugs, sweet friend, and I hope you and Jim enjoy this Fourth of July weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello Jill!!! :) Your card is absolutely amazingly elegant and ever so gorgeous!! Love the frame and the soft coloring with the butterfly and ribbon!! Thank you so kindly for you lovely comment!! SENDING HUGS :)
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I've found this particular die a bit too large for the size of the cards I usually make. You've done a super fantastic job with it, and it's delicate & feminine. Just right for a lady. Love the colors you've selected, and the gingham checks tucked in among the flourishes add a sweet touch of 'home-iness' I think. The darker shade of the pretty ribbon and the trim around the oval...just more lovely. Also liked the tiny posies tucked in the corner, must be why that pretty butterfly landed on your card! I don't think it's too ornate at all...just so lovely. TFS & hope ya'll have been well. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Jill
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I miis seeing your lovely cards. Hope all is well?
Leanne
Hi Jill, Just read the other blog, and was so surprised at what I read. I can just imagine you are very busy with loads of TLC and trying to keep things on an even keel, with no over-do from the Mr. (so hard to get them to realize this!). You all take care, and don't YOU overdo, with the nursing duties and other chores which I'm sure you've had to pick up on. God bless both of you , and many hugs.
