In yesterday's post. I mentioned how at Split Coast the tutorial for this week is one to make a Treasure book. Years ago, I made a book that is along the same line. They called it an Altered book. You take an old book and cover the pages with your "treasures" This is another page in my book. It's a page from my favorite Calendar series. I love porches! I feel fortunate to be able to sit on my porch and even craft sometimes. (One of my favorite places to craft) Of course, my porch does not have the view that this porch does. I would take these calendars to work with me, and post them up on my wall over my desk. I would then imagine myself sitting out on the porch instead of being chained to my desk 8 to 12 hours a day. Just seeing the lovely seenes would give me the uplift I needed.
I promise I will get back to posting cards again. I have been working on some this week, but they seem to take longer to get done than I would like them to. So I thought in between my card making I would post my altered book pages.

Beautiful blog
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a book, I did something similar but with crafts I may want to try instead of saving a whole magazine I would just cut the ones I really liked
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful
ReplyDeleteSo enjoying these pages Jill - and what a great idea to surround yourself with the 'outdoors' while at your desk

So pretty. I'd love a porch like that xoxo
ReplyDeleteI too love a porch! It's the perfect place to sit and read on a beautiful day, and a pretty view like this would be heaven!
ReplyDeleteI am a porch lover too Jill and wish I had one. I've always love sitting on a porch, doing a puzzle books, needlepoint, reading or just watching the world go by since I was young. I love this page in your book. That was a great idea to hang up the calendar pages at your desk to help boost your moral too. Love it! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteGorgeous porch, Jill, I would craft outside if I had this view. One day I hope to have a great porch with a great view. One of my daughters had a magazine porch and view of the lake - amazing and I have to keep the jealously tapped down when I sit on it. Lovely picture. Hope you are doing well and your sweet hubby too! Hugz
ReplyDeleteWonderful porch scene. I have not done the altered book but it sure looks great. I can only imagine sitting at a desk all day with bare walls and nothing great to look at. I agree having something inspiring on the walls sure does help.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it must be to look back through this wonderful creation!! I would love to spend some hours on that amazing porch!!
