This is a birthday card for a dear friend of mine. She was my very first co-worker when we were both 17. For many years I told people that I had known Carol since we were both 17. Then my friend comes to visit me one day to tell me that statement was NOT true. She then pulls out a photo she found of both us in a Girl Scout photo. I didn't even know that the photo exsisted. (we were both about 11 or 12 at the time. Anyway, she is one of those friends who has NEVER ever forgotten my birthday. So I try not to forget hers...(although sometimes my cards have arrived late).
Carol's favorite color is red and through the years I have always tried to give her or make her a card with red on it. I made this card at night, so I thought the dress was RED, but in daylight in actually looks ORANGE! (I hope she thinks it look red! Smile.. .. The image was cut out of a piece of Graphic 45 Designer paper. The background is also a piece of designer paper that my hubby found for me to use from his stash of craft supplies (It great to have a hubby who does crafting too!) The stamps I used for my sentiments also came from his craft supply...
Thank you everyone, for all the nice comments you leave for me...It always makes my day...
And Thank you for visiting my blog
Blessings,
Jill

What a fun vintage card, and it's funny how you met much earlier than you thought!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Jill - love that you and DH share your supplies, and at times I am sure craft ideas get bounced around between you :)

Hi Jill this is a stunning card. That is a gorgeous image you have used. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card for your friend Jill, an elegant image and beautiful papers.
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly handy to have a hubby that crafts, my husband builds models and paints them, he has recently bought a 3D printer and it is very handy for printing embellishments like keys and charms.

ReplyDeleteOh Jill how could she not love it, I say it has good red tones in it :)
ReplyDeleteWe have more in common then I thought, my Hubby also like to work with papers and dies, not much into the stamping part of it though, but I am able to share from his stuff too :) That is great paper he found to go with her and I just love that sentiment to go with it!
What a blessing to have had a true friend for this long. Beautiful card, Jill. The girl is so elegant and your paper and stamps make it even more elegant. Super well done, and I know she loved it. Hugz
