I made the above card for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #8
It's also a Belated card for their 46th Wedding Anniversary.
You can see the challenge here
http://www.djkardkreations.com/2017/01/blog-birthaversary-surprise-nbus.html
And I also have a link to her blog on my sidebar.
I have been SICK for almost a week now. (My hubby started it this time) He was sneezing and coughing more than a week ago...and, as I said before we share EVERYTHING.
I'm not sure if my card followed all the rules. It's the best I could come up with considering how I am feeling right now. I know I was supposed to use Kraft paper (which I did) and colored Pencils...which I did (In fact it's my NBUS, I purchased the colored pencils to use to color images for my one day vacation last September, and never opened the pack. I Made jewelry instead.
I frankly, don't care if it's eligible or not for a prize, (with most of it being paper pieced and not all colored with pencils. I told Darnell a long time ago that I would enter her challenges with or without a prize.
I have entered everyone of the previous 7 challenges and I did NOT want to miss this one either.
How I made my card...
I got my supplies together
and then I rested on the couch for a while..
I stamped my images, and cut out my card stock
and then I went and rested on the couch for a while.
I also stamped some images that I could use to paper piece and then glued then on the card
and then I went and rested on the couch for a while.
I finished gluing my card...
and then rested on the couch for a while.
I then took a photograph
and cropped it and downloaded it to my computer...
And then went and rested on the couch for a while.
I'm finally posting it to my blog
and when I'm done I will go rest on the couch again.
If you think I'm kidding...ask my hubby...
That's how determined I was to get a card in Darnell's challenge.
I will try and comment on other cards when I'm feeling better
WHICH I sure hope is by Tomorrow!!!! Smile
Thanks for visiting my blog,
Blessings,
Jill

Pieced perfection, Jill. And what a darling couple! And you coloring is perfection too. Adorable card!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry ya'll have been sharing germs & both of you sick. Sometimes it's best not to be 'so together'! (hard not to, though sometimes!) Love your card, and the paper piecing looks great. I entered a Christmas card, no pencil on it, no kraft. Just saw that Darnell was doing the 8 NBUS, and I had a NBUS. Just emailed her to say no problem if it doesn't qualify...I didn't see the rule about kraft & pencils, until after I'd seen that it was NBUS 8 on one of my CCClub blogs. Oh well, I tried. Hope you both will both feel much better real soon. Rest all you need. With the bad weather, that's a great way to spend the day! Hugs & TFS
ReplyDeleteJill, it's adorable! I have that stamp too and just love it. Cute and fun card.
ReplyDeleteHope you start feeling better soon.
Lynn
Jill, I hope you feel better soon! No fun! You did a beautiful job, though! Absolutely adorable couple! Paper piecing can be tricky but you did a fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteWow, what an effort Jill, but a great result - love your card and hope you are better soon - next time put DH into quarantine when he starts with the bugs first :-).
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
What a fun card with a great image! I'm sure Darnell will get a big kick out of this one ;) Wishing you and Jim healthier and happier days ahead! Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jill. I'm sure both Darnell and Kevin loved it. Sending healing hugs, love and prayers to both you and Jim.

Love your card! Such a cute stamp and so much paper piecing! Wow! Do hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a loyal and true friend you are, Jill, to get up from your sick bed and make a card AND participate in the optional cp/k technique! I'm honored and appreciative that you playing my challenge! And I LOVE the darling card with that long-married and long-suffering couple! It's a karack-up!
ReplyDeleteAnd paper-piecing is perfect for the image, along with the coloring! But, my goodness, what a lot of work when you aren't feeling well! That's another technique that I enjoy (reminds me of playing with paper dolls back in the day) and I don't do often enough. Remember when it was all the rage?
You take care now, Jill, and get better soon! I hope Jim is over his sickies! Dang, I was hoping 2017 would start out on a better note for you guys. Let's just say that was a last bit from last year and now your year will be sunshine and flowers from here on out!! Hugs, Darnell
Oh my-the wrath to your hubby if you missed this challenge. I am sure he knows by know how serious we crafters take out blogging challenges LOL! Hope you are both feeling better! Love your card and the cute sentiment with it!
ReplyDelete♥ Sue Kment
