Another side step card...
Yes, it's still obviously one of my favorite ways to make a card...(I have a link on how to make a side step card in my previous post)
I've been having summer doldrums...I guess that what's you could call my mood.
The humidity and allergies of summer don't help. Plus I think I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself because we haven't been able to take even a one day overnight vacation in years. Sorry for my complaining. I try to keep my blog light, but this does
explain part of the reason why I have not been on my blog (Or computer as much) lately.
I am thankful that I was finally able to find some motivation to make some cards again.
It does help to lift my spirits. I do have my craft night friends to thank for that, they have been able to get together with me more lately. I feel very blessed to have people come to my house and
craft with me.
The above card was made using paper from Paper Wishes, and I cut the teapot out using a die made by Serendipity Stamps. The flower is a sticker from K & C company.
"The best cure for worry, depression, melancholy, brooding, is to go deliberately forth
and try to lift with one's sympathy the gloom of somebody else."
~Arnold Bennett
Thank you for visiting my blog today,
Blessings,
Jill

Hoping after this next week of heat and humidity the summer weather gives way to a beautiful Autumn. Sorry to hear you've been feeling kind of blah. We've had a crazy year and are ready to move on.....although, I know I'll complain when the snow flies and someone I love has to be on the roads.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous card!! I love the colors and pretty papers!! The details are fabulous!! Crafting really is good for the soul...if I'm feeling down, I head to my craft room and it always improves my mood. I hope you feel better soon. Have a great evening :)

ReplyDeleteI hear you about the time away Jill - we too are pretty much tied to base.. and yes, the humidity is a killer, so glad ours is not too bad where we now live.
ReplyDeleteLove your card - it is gorgeous. The tea pot die cut is a fabulous feature.

Jill. this is an absolutely lovely card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sidestep card! I love the glittered flower and the teapot die is so pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteI, too, am a bit in the doldrums. The weather for me, though, has been quite gorgeous. I have finally been able to sit outside with a good book and not worry about bugs or too much heat. Love your step card, I didn't realize you made them yourself. I cheat! I bought a pack of pre-made bases at the last show. Try to cheer up!
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card, sweetheart, and another reminder to me that I'm yet to create a side stepper. MUST do so soon!
ReplyDeleteLove, hugs and blessings,
Em

Jill, hopefully y'all will find the time to get away soon - even if for a day trip. I know those are so enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteYou can make the side step cards all the time as far as I'm concerned because they're all so beautiful. Love this one!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card - the teapot is adorable. I hear you on the no vacation thing - we haven't been anywhere in a very long time - not even a long weekend. Crafting is my only "get away from life" mental vacation.
